I love the styling of the Leyland Atlantean @ 1:56 looks totally amazing & the styling of the Leyland National @ 3:26 is my favourite & the Leyland National makes a great sound
Thanks for posting and interesting and well edited presentation. To me it really captures the decline in the standard of Sheffield's busses. The decline started when SYPTE came into being and changed the much love livery of Sheffield's busses to their grotesque livery. Further decline happened when bus services were privatised to some extent, this resulted in a multitube of horrible liveries, very old and tatty fleets as obviously the operators could barely maintain them let alone purchase new units. Things would greatly improve if Sheffield City Council were able to operate their own modern fleet in original Sheffield Transport Department livery.
Great video this is the real buses from yesteryear! I like the Leyland DAB bodied Bendy buses with the TL11 engines, same engines fitted to the Pacers Trains with the ZF Ecomat Gearboxes. Also are those Voith Atlanteans I'm hearing? where they Original fitted with Voith or Converted to Voith later in life?
At 15.17 thought there was going to be an accident at the roundabout: Double-Decker (unsure of the make) looked like it was going to T-Bone a National! Surprised by the number of Scottish buses in the city, lots of Alexander bodies flying around... I only ever saw 1 YRT Alexander Single-deck in Swansea, ever!
