Filmed in Barnsley at various locations. During 1998 & 1999. Features the buses of Yorkshire Traction, Barnsley and District, Barnsley Omnibus, First Mainline, Headlight and Arriva.
As a Barnsley resident, I loved the Yorkshire Traction, and Barnsley, And District buses. You could get buses from Barnsley to places, such as, Huddersfield, which went from Barnsley via Mapplewell, and Darton. Or from Barnsley to Huddersfield, via Barugh Green, and Cawthorne. You could get a bus from Barnsley to Doncaster, which went via Hoyle Mill, Cundy Cross, Lundwood, Cudworth, Shafton, Grimethorpe, and South Elmsall. You could get a bus from Hoyland to Darfield, which went via Elsecar, Hemingfield, Wombwell, and Low Valley to Darfield. You could get buses from Barnsley to New Lodge Crescent, which went via Monk Bretton, Carlton Industrial Estate, and Athersley. You could get buses from Barnsley to Leeds, which went via Monk Bretton, Carlton, Royston, Notton, Newmillerdam, Wakefield, and Swillington. Now that, Stagecoach have our buses, they don't run those routes anymore. Please, please bring back Yorkshire Traction, and Barnsley, And District buses back to Barnsley.
@@michaelasquith Technically, Yorkshire Traction still exists. In all fairness though, 'tracks' didn't buy great buses in the last decade that it existed. Plus, given the challenges on the industry, I'm not convinced those routes you mentioned would still be operated even if YTC were still around in name.
@@TheGlobeguys, to be fair to you. You make a valid point. I meant to say that, the old MCW Metrobuses, Leyland Mark 1 buses, Leyland Mark 2 buses, and the Leyland Olympian buses, if you don't mind me saying this.
@@ussvoyager8650, you are welcome. My favourite buses are Leyland Mark 1 buses, Leyland Mark 2 buses, Metrobuses, the MCW model, and Optare small buses. The old buses are the best 1s, if you don't mind me saying this.
