Ngl, I did not know that the Great Runes were buffs from Rune Arcs. Come to think of it, I never used a Rune Arc in any of my playthroughs.

yeah that's definitely part of the problem I think with the system. You go so long before you're even able to engage with the system, and unlike games like Demon's Souls and Dark Souls 3, you don't passive get buffed into using a Great Rune after beating a boss or anything like that. So it's incredibly easy to just forget the entire system exists and think that great runes are just there for story progression.

I played dark souls 1 and 3 without using ember and immunity cuz i didnt know what they used for. I just go with the flow.

I tried to love bloodborne and just couldnt. For all the above stated reasons, mostly. Its a great looker but those obnoxious game mechanics just suck ass.
