Looking back on 70 years of KHOU 11 standing for Houston 

KHOU survives 7 decades?! Wow!!! Happy Platinum Anniversary to one of H-TOWN's hometown heroes!!!

So KHOU gives KHOU the coveted KHOU 70 years of broadcasting award to itself. I'm so very impressed. I wonder who will win next year.

My mother worked at KHOU-TV in 1958. Sid Lasher smoked a cigarette while broadcasting. I was allowed to go inside the broadcasting room, age 5, and saw the cameramen try to make them laugh while on the air. Dan Rather was so young then. Hurricane Carla devastated Galveston.
