Thanks for taking us along D-Rob. Been a couple years since I was able to make it out there. And thanks for pointing out that natives orchids can't be transplanted, and for the fire safety reminder. All it takes is for one careless person to ruin it all for everyone.
Aw man! Awesome flower footage D Rob! Ladies slippers are one of my favorites to find, altho I've gotta say I have never found that many in one day! We went "flowering" yesterday and we too saw pink/yellow slippers and the dwarf crested Iris, also some white/pink trilliums, woods poppys. So beautiful. We also came across something I had never seen before so I had to look it up as it was called "cancer Root" pretty awesome! Absolutely LOVE your videos! Keep them coming 👍
Spring is one of my favorite times of year because of all the new life to the woods and all of the wildflowers. I hate summer but that’s when some of my favorite orchids bloom so I have to bare the heat lol. Glad you enjoyed the video, thanks for watching!
It’s definitely one of the best overlooks in the Red. If you camp at one of the campsites out through there, Hanson’s is possibly the best sunrise spot in RRG too.
You are correct, Several arches out that way. The ones closest to the point are the Ledford Twins. If you go straight down from that last campsite before Hanson’s there’s a stretch of cliffline with several small arches called the Sandcastle Arches.
