Excellent and very informative podcast. Tony is the one who got himself into financial problems. His wife didn’t know. Very strange he’s the only survivor if his wife murdered the children. Tony said he tried to kill himself over and over again. Why didn’t he succeed? Blaming the woman for the massacre is despicable. And then his memory loss. Very convenient. He does everything to paint his wife as a depressed lunatic. He was the sane one? We heard it all before. Man up, Tony.
Than, he blamed Meghan for his enormous weight gain, and for his years of theft through his little physical therapy group. How disgusting how he is so condescending. You know he likes to think he’s an MD. He’s not. He was a physical therapist. He knows about PT, not medicine. “PTsplaining” lol.
I don't believe him for a second with anything that comes out of his mouth. He's a "salesman", trys to talk fast and use words he thinks will make him look/sound smart and he thinks people won't know or question. But, BUT I do think he "lost" some time, how much, I'm not sure, but I genuinely think someone like him wouldn't say; "I don't know" or "I don't remember"...he loves his own voice so, he would have TRIED to come up with something to be able to tell himself how smart he is. I genuinely think something broke inside him AFTER doing everything he did and just being in it for 3+ weeks. I think some short circuiting went on there and lost a bit of time. Especially because when he talks about it, he almost sounds angry with himself and others because he can't even think of a lie. You can't come up with anything when you lose time because it is weirdly just completely blank...and you don't know what others may or may not know.
How bizarre and gross that the former patient wants to write Todt a letter to "thank him?!" An entire family and pet brutally murdered, the man lived with their decomposing bodies for weeks and attempts to place all blame for all of his crimes on his wife and she wants to THANK him for doing his job as a PT......Wow......just wow.😑🤔
@@clairyboots. No, she just has a very different view & experience of all of this than you do. Most importantly, unlike you, she actually knows this man. She knows him to be kind & caring, and she's trying to reconcile that with the information that has come from this case. HER life is her own family, which includes a daughter with debilitating physical issues that impact their everyday lives. This man treated her family well & provided much needed relief. If she wants to reach out that's her business. What's *really* messed up is that she can't do this simple thing that she'd like to do because she knows very well that holier-than-thou know-it-alls 😮💨😮💨 will rip her apart for it
@@_HimToo I wonder if she would have thanked him if it was HER family that he had slaughtered ? We all know the answer to that, HOWEVER good he had been to her she would NOT have thanked him
A blind man could tell that it was Anthony Todt who did and I think it's a real stain on Megan to even consider she had anything to do with killing her children then stabbing herself. Even in earlier episodes you ridicule how, an apparently frail woman like Megan was able to kill her children, stab herself once then get up and walk around and have a comical conversation with Anthony, then stab herself again. Even the autopsy said she was killed in the manner of homicide, so where's this bs coming from "oh we still don't know who did it", ,this isn't like the Serial podcast where there were serious inconsistencies brought up, this is as clear cut as you can get so please don't besmirch Megan's name by even suggesting we don't know who did it!! And with regards to Chrissy talking about Megan talking about the end of the world, do we know for sure that she actually heard Megan say this or is this another lie that Anthony told, hoping to cover his tracks for the future, because we know he was using Megan's phone to txt other people, he could've sent a txt from Megan's phone to Chrissie talking about the end of the world cos apparently Chrissy is the ONLY person that Megan spoke to about this, that's pretty convenient especially when Anthony was in constant communication with Chrissy even when his family were dead!! That lady who wanted to write to him to thank him, does know, that any other physical therapist would show her the exact same things to do to help her daughter, so why is she talking like he's some kind of medical genius??? And thanking him, yeah while you're at it thank him for wiping out his entire family and blaming it on his "sick and frail" wife......is she for real!!! Maybe she should write to Megan's family saying how disgusted she is that she let a man like him anywhere near her or her daughter and express empathy for the family that was wiped out!!!
Who would kill themself by stabbing their own stomach? That's painful. She was ill and in pain, she would have access to a lot of pain meds...that's how most people would go out. Not stabbing. She didn't stab herself.
Then in court he said he went to the condo to put zoes bike together... said he never went into the condo at all because he fell asleep in his van while trying to charge his phone.. which didn't charge because the van was off... also he walked home instead of driving because his van wouldn't start... and wouldn't you know the reason it wouldn't start is because his seat was too far back!
@@millhousemillard2140 It was disgusting to see him try to plead With the judge I truly think he thought he had everybody fooled I think he really expected a not guilty verdict... He's a sickening excuse for a human being
I think he may have been. Is there an autopsy report that details any poisons present or medications?? I wonder if he killed her before her doctor appt fearing they would find out.
@@glamisgirl309 Benadryl was found in all of their systems I believe, and there is no way they downed a bunch of pills themselves. So he definitely poisoned all of them, without their knowledge. Now I could be reaching, but he mentioned that he didn't eat dinner with his family the night before they all were murdered. Maybe that's because he dosed all their food or that "pie" he said Megan made. So poison isn't beyond him, especially with him mentioning how his wife would mysteriously have "good and bad" days.
Heartbreaking the thought of Zoey's cowboy boots and hat; plus the tiny bikini. To think of the baseball cards of the boys. The children stopped playing basketball it's so sad. So evil and brutal what happened to the Todts. Zoeys' death seems so especially horrific thinking of the pain of that massive man on her tiny body screaming for only about 4 or 5 minutes in a 15 minute ordeal, struggle and death.. So sad. Pitiful to think of the estate sale with dog toys and flip flops too
" I'm an honest guy" " my word is my bond" " Im not ....". Except my wedding vows. Oh and out of the office every weekend Medicare , medicaid false billing for years.
Bet he didn't, tell his Dad that he rolled on poor little Zoey . Zoey , we later learned , his words, died in fifteen minutes. However it wasn't " too bad" she only screamed and fought maybe four or five minutes.
Imagine he rolled on her....she must of been kicking and fighting for her life!!!!! God bless this poor sweet innocent little girl. I am so sad for this family. He has to live with that for the rest if his life. Evil sick individual.
@@natashamonford4090 He'san absolutely horrifying and DISGUISTING excuse for a human much less being a father. He's a monster really demonic just to be able to do that to Zoey is unfathomable. So sad poor little Zoey poor boys. She must've known that was her beloved Daddy. sad.
Poor Zoe 😢 that fat pig laying on top of her tiny 4 yr old little body! I just can’t! He’s a demon! Then to go on & kill his beautiful sons, wife and dog! What an evil monster
I can't believe there was an estate sale at the house where they were all murdered! Wow, that's not even bad taste, it's downright disrespectful and morbid.
I so agree. I couldn't believe it when I heard them say that. And that woman talking about the sale, it was like a normal sale, the way she sound talking about the sale, was creepy
Speaking of making her sick… I found it quite alarming that there was arsenic found in the home. I wish they would have tested the family’s hairs to see if they had been exposed to arsenic in the recent past.
Kinda wish these folks kept their podcast going now that Tony got the book thrown at him. I doubt he’ll talk to anyone in the media now but it would be nice to see a bow on this podcast. Also, looks like 202 Reserve Place is back on the market for $900K. Lifetime of nightmares included. 😐
Lol tony thought he was going home, that’s why he was so happy to talk to her after the trial. Now he’s attempting an appeal (haha good luck). Only after that will he talk. And he WILL, because all the narcissist love a camera pointing at them and he wants to sell his crap to the American public.
It's really sick that the homeowner wouldnt allow the family to get some personal belongings because of her need to make every cent she could from the 'estate sale'
When the timeline was figured out, it was determined that Megan had already passed when the text was sent out from her cellphone. When her Aunt Chrissy received the message, she knew right there and then that wasn't like Megan to talk like that so she called 911 again for a welfare check. Again the police didn't enter the residence because "money" wasn't involved. When Federal agents came to the house with the sheriff dept, they agreed to enter the house because "money" fraud was involved. Because the police didn't do the welfare check 2 times in a row, the bodies were so far gone, there was no blood left enough for samples. Because Megan's phone was in Tony's possession, it was assumed he sent the strange doomsday message.
You started off with, "We don't know who did it..." Uhhhh...yes, yes we do. Tony Todt did it. I stopped listening at that point and won't continue (eyeroll).
The issue is that phone call Megan had with his sister when she said something about the world ending in December. Unless the sister recalled it incorrectly like instead Anthony was the one that told her Megan said that during a phone call.
I wonder if what really played out was the “conversation “ was actually texting from Tony? Mainly because she says she spoke to Megan the end of December and we all now know the family was murdered between the 14th and 18th of December.
This guy is the proverbial of going postal… I can’t see his guy ever having a chance of rehabilitation. Clearly the trauma he witnessed as a child set the town.
@@leahcasell1487 ok I thought so, she was a Montessori home school teacher so that mindset that he said she was in is very out there. He’s such a clown if he really thought he could get away with this and put all the blame on her. I’m surprised he didn’t blame Alec..
He has been an adult for a long time. He is responsible, not his parents. His sister lives the same trauma and she didn’t murder her spouse, children, and dog. I have zero compassion for this wanna be Mr Important. Poor Meghan lived with this mansplaining monster for almost-twenty years. Can you imagine how horrible her life was? And those kids! I’m sure he was a horrible, belittling, horrible father
Maybe they couldn't afford a trip? Plane, car, etc or the drive with gas. Plus don't know history if they ever visited seems like a text or phone relationship at least his sister. I know the parents were about 95 & 97 yrs old.
They called the police for them to do a wellness check several times, but if they don't go in? They had probable cause when they began to smell the bodies. And I don't know if you are a trust fund beneficiary, but not everyone can leave their job, their kids etc, nor have the money to hop on a plane.
Meg was supposedly practicing an eastern religion. Yet Mr. Supportive devoted husband father of. the year great medical professional, that he self proclaims can't state what her religion actually is.
This is a tragic, heartbreaking story. Although it’s awful to hurt or kill any animal, I’m baffled at how the death of the family dog is emphasized, mentioned outright over the children. There’s NO comparison to the tragic murders of a family, a mother with small children, to the death of their dog. None!
I think it's just the overkill, you'd think after killing his 3 kids (he was just found GUILTY so I can say that with confidence) he'd be done with murder but he went on to kill their puppy who had nothing to do with the "plan". He could have just let his family take care of them all and just offed himself but I don't think he ever planned to take his own life IMO.
I think it’s because often you will hear that the dog is left alive. Think about it as this. Sometimes I think in these familial murders it may start off as the husband wanting to kill the wife but then ends up killing they children either because they witnessed something or because they don’t want to deal with the aftermath of the children questioning things. A dog, a dog cannot be a witness nor can it question anything
If he wanted to commit suicide, he could have taken as many pills as he could swallow NOT add a few more the next time he took them. He didn't want ppl to know he was broke.
I wanted to first say that I don't believe Anthony Todt , so I am not doubting he isn't guilty in some sort, but a question I have is why was there not a Christmas tree or even the kids dressed up at the concert? Not sure if you covered it but I do wish at the trial more evidence was presented, such as computers and phones. I have a feeling he will get a new trial.
@@nowirehangers2815 Yes I know , I don't celebrate and don't care if they did or did not but in a picture it looked like they had. It comes across as a red flag to me.
That is odd for me too since the prosecution argues that they were killed after christmas if I'm not mistaken. So I wonder why they haven't given the children their presents. I actually think he is guilty and after the trial I think it's actually worse than I thought. First I thought ok they made some kind of suicide pact and he chickend out but after seeing him on the stand...no real sadness for his family and everything was centered around what he felt and what a great man he is etc. Very unsettleling.
@@Sookielein I saw a picture where the wrapped gifts were in boxes, could their family have sent them? I only heard it mentioned once. i also heard that they were going to celebrate a bit later with a birthday. Just a thing that stood out to me
Was he tested for Benadryl in his body immediately after his arrest? Tried hanging, shooting, chugging Benadryl.... 6 different ways, wow, have you ever? Maybe when he was sleeping in the car that night... did he try carbo monoxide? It wouldn't have saved his family and their beloved dog, but it would have saved hundreds of thousands in legal costs and prison!
I'm a bit shocked at how short prosecution's case was....barely 3 days? Listening to all these 10 episodes made me feel there's much more things that they didn't touch on during the trial. But his defense of just not remembering anything is just complete BS. I hoped the jury will deliver shift justice.
I think a lot of what we were able to hear in the podcast may have been inadmissible or maybe irrelevant. The case was based on his "power" and control. I was more shocked at the brevity of events on the final day: closing arguments, verdict watch, deadlock, verdict, sentencing! That judge was quick!
Sounds like the owner took it back and was selling everything to recoup losses since they defaulted on their payments. Still though would think they would have returned some personal things to family and thrown out everything of his.
It’s morbid, but this is what has to happen. The owner would have to pay a lot of money to get rid of everything, cleaning a murder seen that bad is also on the owner (there are services one can hire, and they are pricey!), and like the other commenter mentioned, the loss of income from their delinquent rent is a big loss. I understand it seems unlikely people would want to purchase anything belonging to a murdered family, but on a fixed income you might be surprised. (My parents rented a duplex someone had been murdered in when I was young because it was the only thing they could afford.) There are also businesses that buy solely from estate sales, fix up the furniture, and sell it…i.e. antique markets. As for the family, they may not have been able to get down there in time with all of the grieving and chaos. It’s nice that the friend was able to get some of Chloe’s items to the family.
Tony's sister is not confirming Megan's belief in end times, shes merely repeating what Tony told her or what he texted from Megan's phone. That whole story was entirely made up by tony.
This Story of A Woman and Her 4 Young Young Children Lost Their Lives at Another person's Hand . May The Lord Let Them Rest In Peace . I Truly find this Heartbreaking
Even as a journalist even after trial if someone is screaming they’re innocent a good journalist will dig will discover prove whether you are or not I would think to be a journalist I believe you would have to go into it not putting guilt on neither of them until you can just know for 100% sure who it was I’m not saying you guys are not good journalist you are but I will say you guys really do almost speak with doubt about everything he says or you believe it’s calculated everyone human is so different in so many ways this man could’ve just been a loving man I do not know that he could’ve love this family so much that he intended on taking the blame if she did it another thing I think about you guys talked about in the first few episodes is how she was brought up tonight expose anything going on in her family what if she was trying to save herself and her family from embarrassment with the insurance fraud all I know is God bless this is so sad it’s heartbreaking no matter what another thing that kind of throws me off someone had a mental breakdown no matter what just like he don’t mention the dog at all that That makes me feel like what if he really is not the one who committed these crimes I believe he would speak about the dog just like he does his family whoever killed the dog looked at the dog as one of their kids as one of them
Maybe some stuff is true. Maybe they agreed to do this together. They were both under stress. She may have burned her journals and asked him to take the blame and he may have agreed. Unfortunately, he decided not to kill himself and let her take the blame. Just a thought. I’m new to this case.
Tony looks 100% different & a better stress free man since his entire family were murdered. For a man who was drowning in debt & instability its ironic that this has been good for his health if not his freedom.
After the trial, it’s hard to listen , possibly impossible to listen to this podcast . It was so obvious at time of the trial that he was not a dotting father or a loving husband but a sickening Narcissist !!!!
The ideas in eastern faiths that I know , speak of a righteous being who comes to earth to cleanse and bring righteousness to the world. The end of the world should not be fear but joy. .Remember Christians psalm 23:. " I shall fear no evil , ......" The Holy Bible.
Another thing I don’t understand why would the FBI call for the police to assist them arresting him when they had already spotted him in the home sitting on the porch FBI can do whatever they want they would’ve never called the local police department for help with assistance I believe a good investigator or journalist can never truly really say someone is guilty unless for 100% certain this case honestly I battle back-and-forth either he is one of the most smartest manipulating calculating criminals watch I would believe he would’ve had a long history of dirty laundry we haven’t seen much of that or he was really a loving timid man Which honestly would make what he done after the murders if she really did it kind of believable honestly I would hate to be the jury in this case unless there was concrete evidence that we just haven’t got to see
And I wish they would stop acting like they were in such huge debt it seems like from whatever snapped weather him Or her was when the bills weren’t paid I mean we’re only talking a couple months usually if someone’s in such financial trouble you go 6 7 months without paying
Well I’m sorry but the way they described her as being such a loving devoted mother and I’m not saying she wasn’t I do not know neither of these people I would believe there would be evidence of Christmas gifts if she really did not believe The world was coming to an end I don’t care if they were broke a mother like that whether it would’ve been homemade gifts a homemade Christmas tree would’ve went out of her way to make sure her kids had as normal fun loving Christmas as possible we’re missing a lot of things that could truly piece together whether he did it or if she did specially when dealing with mental health issues
Something don’t seem right if she is such a doting loving mother I’m not saying she wasn’t don’t get me wrong but I’m saying from what everyone’s made her out to be them recital certificates would’ve never still been in the vehicle she would’ve had them in the house that night displayed maybe she was battling some thing mental I do wish they would’ve showed journals I do wish we could know for sure how the sister Was told she thought the end of the world was coming
And isn’t it funny how he only said that part after he was convicted and pleading with the judge? Never mentioned anything about a fight or reconciliation in his testimony, or his prior letters. He just can’t keep his story straight.
This is by far the most unorganized mess of someone trying to pretend to be journalists.... U r all over the place.. Just a mess of repeated junk thrown literally all over... I warn anyone wanting to know what happened. LOOK SOME PLACE ELSE CUZ THIS WILL CONFUSE THE HELL OUT OF U. Search another way to get the info... save urself the headache...
I kind of do believe maybe they had a pack and he chickened out and I believe that’s why he says that in the letter that she finally found one thing he wasn’t good at and I believe if that is truly what happened he tried and tried but was too scared specially hearing about the pellet gun and him having marks maybe they both had a pack but what is sickening is how they were selling this family‘s items that should’ve never been allowed don’t care what they owed there was three kids and a wife who died in this house so you bring all their things downstairs the things they loved and sell it shame on this world to even allow that
