After many months away from taking any images in the landscape and a long long time away from youtube, after recently loosing my best mate Alfie the Australian Shepherd, I have finally gotten the energy and will to go out again into my beloved local landscapes.
A short one hour drive from Rome, Italy, today I have taken my camera to this very particular landscape location which is an x volcano that erupted leaving this huge crater with thermal activity and mysterious flora.
A difficult landscape to capture, so today I show you how I approach complex landscape with the approach of applying personal and appealing imagery.
Sit back and enjoy this 20 minute video with me on a nice big screen with a coffee.

Matt, great video, as always. Really enjoyed it. Also, I appreciate that you put focal length info in the image description. It is a nice touch that rarely anybody shares. One thing to consider is that maybe you should try a wider aspect ratio for that woodland photography. I think it would be a nice fit for that scenery. Anyhow, great job, keep going! Looking forward to a new adventure :)

Nice work Matt, it’s always interesting to see the possibilities outside the usual prime hours for photography and then to utilise a long lens to isolate an image. Sorry about Alfie, it’s bloody tough when we loose a good mate. Looking forward to more of your videos and thoughts on capturing images and equipment use.

Great recommendation on the telephoto for landscape Matt, just curious as to the reason for using the 70-200 and not the smaller lighter 70-210? I have the older Tamron 70-200 2.8 and don’t really use it much because I can’t say the user experience is all that great and it’s a big lens. I used to love using the old SMC A 70-210 f4, but it kinda broke. I’ve also looked at the 60-250 f4 ⭐️, but I just don’t know what to do.
@MattBishopPhotography
@MattBishopPhotography 7 месяцев назад
The 70-210 f4 is a great light weight lens for sure. I tested that lens before its release. I must say though, optically the 70-200 dfa is slightly more superior and when shooting into hazy light, DOF, or even focus speed….its just insanely beautiful to use. It’s a heavy beast though that’s for sure

@iivarilappalainen9836 6 месяцев назад
@@MattBishopPhotography DFA* 70-200 sure is a big boy, but everything else is so top notch that i also feel its, well "working for its weight" ;) I also had the the Tamron before (..well still have it tucked away, have had time to sell it), but even forgetting the image quality, its just not as satisfying lens to use compare to the dfa* imho.
