I'm so happy I was correct and proven right on everything I've said about his casting. Now this trailer solidifies this as a potential GOAT of live action Batflix.
I’ve been waiting for this comment on any video or the trailer or the reactions. The acting looks insane in this scene with Pattinson and Kravitz. Looks unbelievably good. Gives me chills every time
I'm glad to see someone saying this because Zoe got some heat when her casting was announced, but she has great chemistry with Pattinson and her acting is really good. Or her reacting to what he's doing-- she's better than usual. Pattinson is a great scene partner, he elevates everyone who works with him. I think we're in for a real treat.
Batman isn't bulletproof. Really detracts from how skilled he is meant to be if he can walk into a wall of bullets. Apart from that no real flags, looks good. They even let Kurt sing his own song. But I didn't like bulletproof Batman much at all. YMMV.
Patinson literally is Bruce Wayne in real life. Watch some of his interviews and you will see it. Wealthy, does not give a shit, handsome, chaotic and so on.
It's perfect casting and I beat myself up for not picturing it myself before the announcement. Plus his range as an actor is just incredible. Like I love most of the other actors who potrayed Batman but out of all of them Pattinson seems to be doing the most acting whereas the others kind of just played themselves. He really transforms himself for his roles.
@@adroxx_ no it was not. This trailer gave the the movie a more in depth of what we can expect. The additional fight scenes, Selina insights, Penguin, and riddler. Sit down
@@natechenry agree to disagree… the first trailer had better atmosphere, the build up was better, the music/score was better, and the pacing was better.
Ron Pattinson is one of the greatest actors in this era. From his work in Lost City of Z as a scientist, to LightHouse and his batshit insane role along Dafoe, and now he'll prove he can be Batman. Talented as hell!
@@wjbt3 He's never been nominated for an Oscar. Maybe The Batman will be the first? lol I seriously thought he should have at least had a nomination for The Lighthouse, not to mention Good Time! Incredible work.
Dano as Riddler is absolutely perfect casting. With the best intentions possible.. I think he will supersede Ledger’s Joker, and be one of the best Batman villains ever.
He’ll be on Heaths level. That’s peak antagonist all time. Put respect on his name. That’s the pinnacle of villain and if you achieve that level that’s a feat. You can’t get above that performance.
Calm down dude, no he wont. if Joaquin Phoenix couldnt do it, even as good as that film was, dano sure as hell isnt. Put some RESPECT on Heaths Name, his Joker is with Vader and Lecter among the GREATEST in cinema. And transcends superhero movies. Dano will be good, but not that good, TDK Joker is a once in a lifetime performance.
He seems influenced by Riddler from the Hush story. One of the best interpretation imo. Give John Doe and Hannibal Lecter vibes, with some Zodiac thrown in.
It's gonna be like Infinity War and Endgame. If you're a fan you HAVE to be there on opening weekend because you don't want anyone telling you about it.
@@709mash miss kravitz apparently is not sexy or good looking enough or have long enough hair for the part. but i guess they prefer unrealistically a long haired bimbo. at least frank millers batman year one was not racist like so many of these movie goers
Definitely! Good time, the Lighthouse, Tenet, The Devil All the Time and now The Batman. He is proving himself more than just a capable actor. He has fought back valiantly
Interestingly, i too also felt the same. I actually wanted to hate Batfleck I wasn't here for him. But when I saw the movie I found that he stepped straight off the comic book pages with his looks, physique and everything and that warehouse fight was A+. Yet somehow I wasn't bothered when they mentioned R Patts was gonna be the next Batman. I think maybe I was thinking of Batman Beyond Terry McGinnis and thought he could work a version like that. That said what we see here is straight menacing young bruce. But yeah, i wasn't worried about Robert. I know he's a good actor. Even during the Twilight craze he actually acted how he was supposed for the series. The writing and depiction of those vamps were just trash. That wasn't his fault.
I've watched this trailer so many times. It's officially one of my favourite trailers of all time. This is going to be an unpopular opinion, but this truly feels like a Batman movie in a way no other Batman movies have. It's like they've taken the soul of Batman comics and put it in a movie. I didn't realise I needed this Batman, but I was so wrong.
“Too good to be real” is my thought exactly. I remember being 10 years old and reading comics like The Long Halloween and Year One and literally fantasizing about a Batman movie like this. So hyped to finally see it.
I was getting fatigued with all the constant origin stories with Batman that were giving us the same thing. I was even wondering why the studio hadn’t done a Batman beyond movie but this is great! It’s giving us what we loved about the Nolan films but giving us what was great about Batman the Animated series. Even though it was a kids cartoon, the series had excellent villains with great backgrounds, the stories were surprisingly dark and it had a tone that was dare I say period piece like. This is the Batman that I want to see meet Clark Kent and figure out who Superman is; this is the Batman I want to see in a justice league film!!!
This’s why Batman is arguably the greatest comic character written in the history of cinema period. Shout out to Matt Reeves.. he understood the assignment. This film is epic, thrilling & gritty the way Batman is supposed to be. DC should produce movies that heavily rely on the comics written, be it different and unique Batman.
I think that's what many people are excited about. Folks already know most films don't live up to trailer hype as fan imagination and expectation often out does whatever we get. BUTTT even if it's a sliver of what we see here it'll be more than enough.
Unlike other people who reacted to this trailer and chattered throughout, I really appreciate how much you guys were focused and absorbed everything the trailer had to offer.
I hated the suit in the first pictures. But after the trailers I changed my mind, it looks majestic. many ignorant people say that he doesn't look like Batman, but Batman in his early years was like that, Dark, wild and eager to do justice to the force.
Yup, he doesn't look like some hero the villains aren't gonna take seriously because they know he won't hurt them just throw them in jail. Instead, he looks psychotic, like John Wick of Batman. I can tell they'll be terrified of Bats coming after them with this.
It really reminds me of the Earth One Batman comics. I can't wait for this. I love how they never showed Riddler's face in this trailer, such a build up of suspense! And that last upside down shot! *chef's kiss*
From most reviews I've seen; Young Bruce is going to be a sight to see. Robert Pattison has range and isn't just the 'Twilight' sign people want to hang on him. He is going to bring Bruce coming to terms with fully becoming *The Batman* and everything that will come from it and after him before as Vigilante and him, 'Bruce Wayne'. Zoe Kravitz is a callback to Eartha Kitt as Catwoman. Even the Batmobile now is a muscle like classic Batman. Paul Dano isn't one to sleep on either, but people say He's on that John 'Jigsaw' Kramer tip with his take on The Riddler. That will further help to shape Bruce Wayne's pschye and will further drive him off the edge. Let's get this film to be as viewed as it should be so that we can get the rest of the Rogue's Gallery of Villains in Batman's repertoire.
I've told people this for years, don't judge Pattison on his Twilight movies, the dude is a good actor. There's an interview with Pattison detailing how he almost got fired from those movies because he wanted his lines changed, but he ultimately gave in. Anyone who has seen this guy act in other movies, knows how good of an actor he really is. This movie looks phenomenal.
The dude in the middle knows his shit and it’s cool to see someone open minded. You can tell you trust what you like and don’t let the popular movement determine what you like. Respect.
I mean, bunch of trailers got us hyped af and didn't deliver even close with the movies properly. Nowadays, the making of trailers are almost like a tiny construction of a short movie. BUT, based in all the info that we got of this movie, Im pretty sure that this will be a masterpiece and a great oppening for the best Batman's movies we've ever seen. The cast, the crew involved, the cinematography , soundtrack, the comics that are based on, the passion that Reeves, Zoe and Robert talked about it... Everything gives me confidence that this can't go wrong. This main trailer delivered a lot of visual stuff, but since Reeves got inspired in Sev7n, Im sure he hid a plot as good as the action.
Fun fact: its been confirmed this is inspired by "Year One" Batman not Year two, & i agree, This movie is gritty af, & Robert Pattison is going to kill this role since he knows people love to doubt him & been doubting him as Batman since the rumors of his casting, he's doing this role with that "im gonna prove all my haters wrong, & chance they're minds & opinions" & I love that he's not jacked for this cause its Batman's first year as a vigilante, its like his rookie year, or a freshmen, we are all scronny ass freshmens at some point in our lives right? Lol! This going to be fantastic & i trust Matt Reeves so i can't wait!!
@@thezeek2745 yeah & this is also not the comics & it's a movie, they gotta make it different thus why i said it's "inspired" by year one, I'm not making this up take it up with Matt Reeves the director of the movie he confirmed it lol!
I really love the batmobile in this movie. Probably more than any other live action batmobile. I like the home made design. The batmobile in this movie looks like it was built in someone's garage and I like that. I also like that rather than being a tank or armoured vehicle like most other modern batmobiles, it functions more as a Self-propelled battering ram that just plows through everything in it's path without a care in the world
I’m a 90’s baby grew up with the Tim burton/ Joel Schumacher Batman’s then grew into adulthood with the Christopher Nolan Batman’s. Now soon to be entering my 30’s with Matt Reeves Batman and this shit looks fire 🔥 This was giving me Christopher Nolan Batman but rated r and I fucking loved it.
It feels like the True Batman from the dark comics brought to life. Just Batman at his core as a character from the comics. The dark fucking visceral tone and I fucking love it. Hell yeah. And not just Batman, the penguin , the Riddler, cat woman… It’s like the movie producers/writers/cinematographers all got together with the dark comics team and Arkham series rocksteady. Fucking yes!!!!
Impressionist Frank Gorshin played The Riddler in the "Batman" 60s TV Series. He was magnificent, and he did a lot of great impressions of past movie stars when he wasn't playing Riddler.
Great video! Very knowledgeable, very insightful, very entertaining! Only complaint would be the tap dancing coming from upstairs. Obviously that is not always in your control but my lord was it difficult to watch while that transpired. Regardless, you've earned a sub :)
Yea, my little ones are usually in bed when we record, but, for Fandome, we went all day and they we're in full track meet mode! Lol thanks for bearing thru it!
I love the "WHAT?!....WHAT?!" LOL That was my exact same response....I don't know why people were worried about this film...Matt Reeves is directing...that's a guaranteed solid film.
"What's black and blue and dead all over???...YOU!!!" I love how this line suggests that the Riddler believes himself to be always a step ahead...but...you sense the annoyance of dealing with "The Batman." There's doubt and uncertainty underneath what he's saying, which is expressed through aggravation...and may actually hold a double meaning - it's not only about the abuse of Bruce's body, although it's that, too. "Dead all over." Maybe the Riddler actually believed that he had killed The Batman, but now knows he was wrong and is irrated that he has to make him "dead"..."all over." (again). "What's black and blue and red (read) all over?" A newspaper. The lines written upon the pages will be written on Bruce's body: Black, Blue, and Red (blood). The lines exposing corruption will expose Bruce's character: darkness. The Batman "walks a fine line."
Riddler's "I've been trying to reach you" could be because of the clue(s) he has given Batman and therefore trying to get him to understand something important
a lot of people are saying it, but i agree... riddler reminds me of zodiac now. i have a feeling whatever the point of the killings and riddles are, it's gonna be really dark and dramatic.
