They confirmed this is year two Batman. The HBO Max tie-in series will take place in year one.

Everyone thought Heath Ledger was a horrible choice for the Joker and look what he did with the role. Pattinson will suprise lots of people with his performance.

They finally embraced who Batman really was. "I'm vengeance", which is how I've always seen Batman. Not fighting for justice, but to get revenge for what happened to his parents on every criminal. It also reminds us what Batman greatest weapon is: the fear he inspires. His whole character is built around a tortured soul, who uses darkness and violence to make sure criminals fear him. This is why he destroyed that thug. To induce fear to the rest of the group, show them what awaits them. This is how he's known, like a bogeyman: if you do something bad, The Batman will come, and he will crush you.

Colin Farrell is almost unrecognizable in the trailer.

Plot twist: The entire movie is just batman collecting riddler trophies for 2 hours.

this movie feels like it’s gonna be extra dark and grimy. the detective batman theme, the riddler as the villain, the extra violence. i love it.

So glad for Pattinson. Lighthouse and now this, proves he is a force to be reckoned with as an actor.

Matt Reeves is an amazing director and anyone that hasn’t seen his Planet of the Apes movies (which Andy Serkis deserved all the awards for) should go watch them IMMEDIATELY

Rob is definitely our Batman, when he beat that hoodlum up and said I'm Vengeance, I was sold. Penguin and the Riddler are going to be great! I like that Zoe's Catwoman is not Catwoman yet, but she's just a cat burglar. Robert and Zoe are going to have so much chemistry, I see this being rated R.

Keep in mind, Battinson doesn't really at the moment have the "Billionaire Playboy" thing going. Bruce is still very one mind, in that he's Batman all the time. Maybe through the movie he'll develop that persona.

This feels very similar to the court of owls story, very detective like, and dark.

That shot of batman beating the crap out of that dude was the most hyped ive been in a reaction in a while!

I'M SO EXCITED FOR THIS. IT LOOKS SO GOOD

I love it. Early Batman. This is a young, angry Bruce who lacks control. You can still see the deep rooted sense of justice and wanting to do the right thing, but this is Batman before gaining the sense of direction that guides his moral compass and emotions going forward. Like he says here "I am vengeance." That is the base of his actions here, getting revenge. And it shows.

Robert Paddington bear is amazing as Batman

I love how when he’s hitting the guy the shots sound like rocky punches at first, but slowly start to sound more and more like smashing a rotten pumpkin the more he crushes his face in.

And thats only a sneak of 25% of the film.. so hyped! Reaves has made great films, and he’s using John Wick fight choreographer for this as well so no* unnecessary cuts!

I've been holding off judgement of Pattinson being chosen, till we saw a trailer. After seeing this, I'm all in.

Paul Dano is playing the Riddler in this movie.

it's so refreshing that dc isn't doing one interconnected cinematic universe. leaves room for so much different things and this movie looks to be just that.

I like that they made the date ?0?1 because the movie comes out on 10/01/21. So it can refer to October 1st as well as 2021.

That fight scene was great. Not a bunch of shaky camera angles with constant camera cuts. It was brutal, no need for flashy moves all the time. Loved it.

The song blends so well with Batman, especially that line, “all the animals I’ve trapped, have become my past” just breaths Gotham

From what i just saw this Batman has: The fighting style of Bale With the brutality of Affleck + little bit Conroy with that " i am vengeance" line

Bale, Keaton, Affleck and Pattison Batmen fighting in one multiverse movie would be epic as fuck.

I think they're gonna react to this next month when it releases on HBO Max so don't spoil them. I enjoyed it though

I am super excited with this first trailer to the movie. I haven't been this excited for a movie in a couple of years now. Loved the reaction and discussion afterwards.

This feeling like a Batman animated series feel to the trailer along with the movie seven mixed in.

It’s hard to look at this and remember all the production hell it went through. It looks fucking amazing.

With an orchestral version of a Nirvana song and Jeffrey Wright narrating, I was half expecting him to tell Batman to freeze all motor function.

There's a few things that make me think 'Hush' will be present in this movie. Considering Hush's identity (and the riddle in the trailer stating "from your secret friend") I think that Hush and Riddler are in cahoots

Matt Reeves said yesterday during the virtual fandom event that this is more of like an origin story for the villains then it is for Batman and it supposed to be more of a psychological Thriller detective film so you're going to see Batman actually use his detective skills as the world's greatest detective to solve these murders and crimes at the Riddler and his henchmen are orchestrating throughout all of Gotham City throughout the film. Also, that is the Penguin. They used a little bit of Prosthetics and CGI but that's Colin Farrell's penguin. It's also supposed to be like a first Mark costume that you see of Selina Kyle Catwoman while she's breaking into the safe in the teaser trailer. Then, you're supposed to see her costume and her as a character grow and evolve throughout the film. Then, some of the characters will not reprise her role but others will in future installments of Matt Reeves Batman trilogy.

The scene where Bruce is driving through the graveyard was filmed in Glasgow, Scotland my home town.

If this movie comes out the way it looks in the trailer, it will be a masterpiece..!! Because people always gets connected to a emotional background and history behind a person's personality...The Batman is an emotional character and people need to know the drive or reason behind a man becoming vigilante for his whole life....as we know " when you devote yourself to an ideal and if they can't stop you, then you become a legend". Like DC did the humanizing touch for JOKER - MASTERPIECE. RIDDLER looks to expose the corruption in Gotham City and the Court of Owls to the Batman and also mocking Batman ideals of JUSTICE. A noir detective movie, a mixture of movies "SEVEN" and "ZODIAC". BATMAN is not only fighting outside but also fighting within himself. As a year 2 Batman, it will be interesting to see that how the internal chaos and fighting of ideals within himself gets him transformed from "VENGEANCE" to "JUSTICE". I hope this comes out exactly like I mentioned.

I love that it's clearly early days when he beats the crap out of that dude. He's got the skill but he's still a little undisciplined and angry so even though they're down he throws another couple of hits in. I hope this is as good as it looks. The longer they delay the more I worry.

Love the way everyone flinched when that Joker Gang dude was getting absolutely hammered.

2:06 Those guys remind me of the Jokerz from Batman Beyond. I guess the Joker works in the shadows since Batman appeared and he already has a following. Although I find it curious that one of them has a cross on his forehead. Or maybe they worship the Joker as a God or maybe it could be an Easter-egg from the Order of St. Dumas.

The old man during the beginning of the trailer is supposed to be Mr. Thorn, for most of us who grew up with animated series is like the kingpin from marvel. Next villains already confirmed are Clayface, The Clock King, and instead of Mr. Freeze is now named Dr. Freeze.

It's funny that Eric points out the suit kind of looking like the Netflix Daredevil because when I first saw the beat-down and the whisper speak of "I'm vengeance", I thought it looked and sounded like Daredevil too. ...Charlie Cox should play Batman at some point; then both Daredevils will have also both been Batmen.

im kinda happy i didnt knew the batman was a thing until it came out, because im a huge mega batman fan and somehow didnt know about the new upcoming batman for 2 years so i didnt need to wait for it come out and then finding out its delaid to 2022 because of covid

The gang isn't a Joker gang (thought that too at first) but they have a skull motif. If you lighten the picture you see the leader has skull tats around his neck as well.

The batman looks amazing, a younger batman is brilliant so the pain of losing his parents is still so strong, i am vengeance felt so badass!

Looks like they’re doing Hush (post traumatized Riddler with precise motives in the comics but later in Batman’s career) connecting him to his parents legacy as the motive

This movie really feels like it has influences from Earth One Batman too, like The Riddler as a serial killer trying to get Batman’s attention and Oswald Cobblepot seems like he could be the Mayor or something here, or at least be running to become the Mayor, that story also dealt with the theme of major corruption in Gotham city as well, and also tied in Bruce’s parents and their history, and the fact Batman works with Gordon here, that story also took place during Batman’s early years too. Even how Batman’s suit looks reminds me of how it looks in those comics. Oh, Batman also meets Selina Kyle in it as well and she’s a classic cat burglar. So yeah, really feels inspired by that story to me, though they’re obviously also doing their own thing with it. It’s cool, since I really enjoyed Earth One’s take on Batman.
