Thank you so much for this video. I saw looms previously but never did any research!! Today I did!! I bought some chunky yarn a few years ago. I couldn't even get it started with my hands!! Now I can put my new found knowledge together thanks to your tutorial!!
New sub!! If you play around with this again here are some things to try. 1. Use a loom with a wider diameter since it is bigger. 2. Wrap two pegs and skip one. It will give you more space. Isn’t that so nice and plushy?
So im doing a garter stich with this yarn on one of the infinity looms. I 'doubled' my pegs as you suggested and bringing the purl stitch between the pegs. Fingers crossed!
Oh no lol,I just wrote a comment that sounds almost identical to the way this one starts, but I hadn't even read any other comments to know that I would be sounding redundant or like I was just copying someone else... Oops....Oh well,im not gonna go back & change it tho,cuz it shouldn't be a big deal & no harm done! It is however just a weird/kinda funny coincidence & I bet it probably happens to ppl.daily throughout the comments section/all the time!
I'm so glad I found a video that shows what it would probably look like if I used this Mainstays jumbo chenille yarn that I just bought,to make a hat or earwarmers on one of my lg.guage looms. No offense to you at all,but I don't think I will be using any jumbo chenille yarn on my xl guage looms as far as I can forsee in the future, lol(I will stick to regular bulky or super bulky on the looms,& use my fingers &/or hands for the jumbo #7 yarns..It just looks like maybe it takes 2 much more of the jumbo than id want 2 use 2 make things w/it on the looms & the result doesn't seem to be as stretchy as I would like).I am actually greatful/kinda owe u thanks at least, for preventing me from using up the yarn I just got & time I would have spent to start making a hat that I wouldn't have been able to finish w/out getting more yarn, only to end up w/a hat that wouldn't look anything like I thought it would. Plus,it's 4 my sister & I prob.would've decided to keep that 1 & spend even more $ going out & having to get more yarn+ gas & time,to make a chunky yarn slouchy hat like what she picked out in a pic.she saw on Amazon...Thanks again 4 the cute video & help & I look forward 2 seeing other loom knitting vids if/when u make them!
Awe, thank you! And no offense taken, I literally only did the ear warmer twice. The obe you saw me make and a blue one. I will not be doing that again, lol. It was rather difficult, and you really don't see the work because it's just fluff. I'm glad I was able to help. 😊
your brave! id be totally be afraid to try it, but now i know it could be done!! im more of a loomer but... ive been sitting on 6 skeins of walmart chenille yarn, was supposed to be a striped blanket but i dont believe i have enough lol
Thank you! I used 7 skeins to make my blanket that I showed at the beginning. Each stripe is one skein. It was my first time making anything hand knit, and it was so much fun. I want to learn every type of yarn work. So far, looming is my favorite. You have also been entered to win the ear warmer
Thanks for your video. I’m actually making a scarf with chenille yarn but it hurts my finger when the overlap stage begins. I won’t give up! Well, not yet.
Thank you so much, Rachel!!! ❤️ Scotland, wow! This may seem stupid, but it feels weird to have a worldwide reach. Scotland is on my list of places I want to see some day.
I found you by accident. I was looking for something to loom using thicker wool. Hay presto, you popped up. Well done that must have been a challenge? 😅
Hi, where did you get that blue yarn that you mentioned at the beginning of your video. What is the name of the blue colour? Thankyou. Now, I am going to watch your video. ❤
Blessings Mrs. J...I ran across "@smellgreatguy" here on RU-vid and he had a KB Flexee Chunky Gadge Loom..I was wondering if this one would work for chunky chenille yarn?🤔
Thanks, Angela! The wider the guage loom, the easier to use chunky yarn. I only have basic looms you can get from big box stores with craft supplies, but I want to get more variety eventually
I just started a project with same yarn on a 18 peg double loom (36 pegs total) doing a cross stitch, any advice when connecting to another color and ending?
Awesome question. I haven't ever needed to connect another skein while using the Loom. If you watch any BeCozi youtube.com/@BeCozi?si=lElgeDgnuAaHaS0m video, she tells you to connect with a square knot. Unfortunately, I don't know how that will affect looming.
