Some very impressive freeways, from what I've seen Arizona does a very good job maintaining their expressway network compared to most other states in the US

I think popular consensus is that Phenix has the best freeway system in the US.

I noticed the 401 sign in the lower right of the screen. Reminds me of my trip on Canada when I traveled the 401, 402 and the QEW. Fun times.

I love the 101 the most out of all AZ freeways I’ve driven. I have a lot less anxiety and stress even during rush hour or with the very extensive roadwork they’ve been doing in Scottsdale, driving it.

Wonderful news that ADOT is getting rid of the rubberized asphalt surface! I never liked it because it took away the whistling sound that the tires make on contact with the concrete surface. As a kid and young adult, I always loved that sound when riding and driving on PHX freeways. Now I’ll get to enjoy it again!

That’s so stupid putting a thin layer of asphalt on top of concrete. They know it’s not gonna last long and they still do it. ADOT woke up.

I didn’t have the time to the entire video but being a native to the state, it took me a minute to realize he’s taking the loop 101 north on the east side of the valley around Scottsdale, but not saying that’s a bad thing just took me a moment to realize it. 😂 When it comes to some of the comments, I read before I chimed in so to speak, they are several lanes wide and heaven HOV lane, and I like that there are many signs and it’s very illustrated and descriptive what lanes lead to wear and it’s almost as good as GPS but a tad bit under being able to look at the signs while your phone tells you how to get to where you’re going is one thing, that sounds confusing, if you put it in a location or ultimately driving there, but the signs that you see on the road that your phone tells you to look at to make the pathway to your destination, is what I meant, there’s several signs above the proper lanes telling you what leads to wear and pretty much let you know ahead of time. The only oddly separate thing and over the last 5 to 8 years at least, keep us in mind, the freeway look wide and very nice, and there are enough illustrative signs to inform you ahead of time, the freeways themselves are very nice and informational, the traffic in the state though……..suck d*ck. Arizona for at least the last six or seven years has been in the top 10 for worst drivers in general/freeway driving. Everyone nowadays seems to go a flow of around 50 on suburban road which I guess is OK as long as you’re observing your environment and knowing went to slow down and/or Stop and whatever else, but on the freeways, a third of the vehicles are going out a decently fast but slow enough pace to be able to slow down and Not get themselves into a cataclysmic car accident, on the other hand, 2/3 of the vehicle are driving between what seems like 80 and faster and that seems to be a lot of the more or less SUVs and trucks, and keep in mind that at the time that I’m saying this for at least 7 to 8 months so far between the end of last year and this year, I have a ride for a coworker of mine who with overtime currently going on is trying to not stay on top of his bills, which isn’t the issue but save up for a down payment for a new vehicle and we, on a separate freeway, we take cactus getting on the ice 17 south, heading west and get off at 83rd Ave. and our job is a couple of miles south of 83rd Ave. and west, it be, and it seems to be more less than the morning because both of our shift is 5 AM to 1:30 PM, it Seems The time on the way to work on both freeways is the more or less more irritable and worse condition because with him being a writer in my car, I can use the HOV lane now, but when you have vehicles that are driving 80 and flashing their lights at someone like me who feels no need to have to go 80 especially if I’m on time and leaving early and I’m staying at 70 when the speed limit on the I 17 was recently raised up to 65, and then your farthest left lane rep HOV lane and you have to wait for a couple smaller size cars, SUVs, and all of these big trucks driving by 80 just have an opening to get into the HOV lane and then when you’re there, you can see your rearview mirror that vehicle is going faster than you are catching up and half of them are respectful and they just go around you and continue on forward, blinker, or not, And then on occasion, you’ll get some that are writing your ass and flashing their brights at you and I’m thinking, you came up behind me very quickly, you can just as quickly go around and the HOV lane is not necessarily just for people that are all driving fast, I’m in the HOV lane because I have a passenger which means I’m allowed there and I don’t feel the need to have to go so fast but if I come up to a back up, I can’t slow down in time. So keep in mind that the freeways are very wide and very nice looking with great signage, I am agreeing with that completely, but the traffic itself, at least 2/3 of the drivers out there need to be taken off the road for how rude and reckless they look while driving, especially especially at higher speeds, which doesn’t help the other two variables.

Great drive! Did you know? While NY State Route 17 is located within New York, it dips to Pennsylvania for about a mile before returning to New York. The exit number (60 for all ramp, 59A, and 61 for eastbound ramps) and the milepost still continue the sequence in Pennsylvania because it is still maintained by NYSDOT. The NY State Route 17 is still signed in Pennsylvania.

Why didn’t you continue west on the 101 and cover the western half of the freeway that continues over and down to I-10? And I prefer the rubberized asphalt, it was quieter.

I think it was just some paper or maybe a pair of gloves, doesn't look like it would have done too much damage.
