Great video Tony. Just watched the video on winter fishing, abs slowing down your presentation. Maybe a trick for winter fishing would be to use snug knots to limit some of the erraticness??
Loop knot seemed to allow the lures to sink much faster in a nose down posture. Snug knot seems to give them more of a gliding action on the fall. I will definitely use the loop knot on deep structure now. Good video
Do you find that with a loop knot you get more wear on the line where it moves around on the loop? I've noticed my line getting rough pretty quickly inside the loop. I still use the loop knot, just means I retie more often.
Taking the tail off of a paddletail is what we call the "nub lure"... which essentially is a small jerk bait. Here's a report showing it catch more fish than the paddletail: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Le5RfHOjeUU.html
If not the loop knot i would use a tactical angler clip. In my opinion its similar to using a loop knot but super easy to switch out lures when needed.
@feeshyfeeshy Why do you say that? Apart from extra abrasion, what about constant slack/unslack and stretching? It seems like you'd have more breakoffs.
