Here's a guy not working for Boss who does more to clear up all the confusion surrounding the actual day to day use of this pedal! Here for example is how to turn the effects down. I am just learning how to use this pedal this morning at home. I hit the effects to play the drum beats and scared the hell out of the pets. The drums came in at a deafening level and I had no idea how to turn it down. So I went to the Boss tutorial video and after watching it, still had no idea, as many commenters point out on that video. Thanks Alex! Why does Boss have to make everything so damn complicated and then leave users with no idea how to actually operate the controls? They should have hired this guy from the start!
Dude. THANK YOU. This is by far the most thorough tutorial I’ve found for this pedal, and it’s a godsend. I’d already watched several videos on this thing and thought I knew what was up, but when my RC-5 arrived today and I started playing around with it, I realized that it’s quite a bit more complicated than I had expected. This video has already answered the question I came here with, plus it’s shown me some stuff I wouldn’t have thought to ask but will immediately put to use. This is a keeper. I recently bought an RC 5 and I have to say I have been bamboozled by the features...your lesson helped me a lot, Alex. Thanks for making it so clear, it really has made a difference for me.
Without videos like this it would be a lot more frustrating to get new gear as some aren't good at staying with something when it doesn't make a whole lot of sense. Many thanks this was exactly what I was looking for without any extra stuff that was useless and not on topic. Exceptional sound and video quality . I'd give this a 10 outta 10 for overall score . You have a gift don't stop doing these.
I was so impressed with alexes tutorial, firstly he was not confusing he spoke simply and directly and gave well structured information that took me through how to use the boss five as I have never looped before. Besides the music this guy makes is captivating and inviting so my attention was on from the start. I have seen other videos with frustrating outcome. So Thnkyou Alex for helping me out.

Great video. I traded my RC-3 for the RC-5 last week and I must say it’s got superb sound and the drum tracks make all the difference, as the RC-3 had only 10! It’s not as easy to use though as there’s a lot going on in it. I make my own backing tracks as it’s a great exercise in playing in overdubbing. Great playing by the way, I’d class you as an “American style” player, Larry Carlton, Steve Lukather, Eric Johnson, etc. Lots of jazz and fusion in your style.

I was thinking about how cool it would be if you`ll do some looping lessons, and it just happened. I remember your video with loop ideas few years ago, the part with a violin was absolutley amazing, rewhatching it till now. I only have old Boss ME-25 processor with a 40 sec loop, no saving functions, only overdubbing, but this video inspired me to try sqeez max from my old pedal, thank you, Alex. Also still remembering your concert in Krasnoyarsk a year ago, glad i could hear it before all this crazy times happened.

Excellent video! Thank you. One of the revelations I've had is that on most videos demo-ing this looper (as well as others), the drum tracks sound kind of bad not because the samples are bad, but because pretty much any drum track will not sound great when played through a guitar amp. Here I take it you have the Looper placed behind the Amp Sim and the drums all sound pretty good! I'll probably be doing the same setup, only with an HX Stomp.

Thanks for this.. I owned a Boss Looper about 15 years ago. It had limitations that couldn't be addressed, and I was hoping this new model might help with them. Your video shows elements of this pedal are now adjustable, visually seeing you modify settings helps. The online manual says what it does, but seeing it work helps confirm it does what I need it to. Great video, and seems like a good updated Looper. Thanks again
Fantastic Alex I've just bought my first looper rc 5 I don't play guitar but will be hooking it up the synthesisers drum machines etc, great video for a newbie like myself, would recommend this to anyone who wants to learn with simplefied techniques ... cheers

You're such a great player! No way could I remember all those knob presses and turns but I guess that's how they cram so much into a standard Boss pedal.

It's a very good tool that if used in the correct way, can teach you timing, improvisational technics that are otherwise slow to learn skills. For those who don’t know you stop your finished piece then do the save 👍 Also you can hook your bass and guitar through the pedal and the rhythm loop you made plays through both amps the drums hitting in my Ampeg is kicksss far as loopers go
@@josefamekemeke2931 definetly I have the looper and my beat buddy running together in two signals from two different amps one being my base amp one my guitar amp He could also run through the beat buddy, but there’s another output for sound. That way your drums weren’t hitting on the same speaker as your base, but still yet record.
