Looping the Troll Trail System - Hollister Hills 

Troll Trail is a black diamond. It’s not meant to be flowy. Yeah it’s hard, but it’s fun to embrace the gnar. Go w/ someone who has been there & don’t rush it. Baby Troll (Called Mini Troll on this video?) is a great intro into the style of riding needed (narrow & rooty) w/o the fear of falling down a ravine. Do that a few times & you have a nice baseline to work with. Good luck.

@@stevebaum ahh you need to embrace your inner gnar even more, go with someone who will rush it and who's never seen it before. Go off the deep end first so you risk it all. Dbl black is easy, forgedda bout protection, do the toughest part first while you have energy and you can peak early... Oh wait, you didn't ask for advice, did you....

@@dirtrider9268 Part two: It’s the next day & I regret what I wrote. I apologize for my comments. I really like the Troll Trails and just wanted to share how much fun I think it they are by suggesting things that you didn’t ask for & obviously are not interested in. I meant no harm.

@@stevebaum thanks, no harm. Many who ride trails use the "be tougher" mentality. But our trails need maintenance, water bars, erosion control, etc. We have overuse situations since the early 2000s when half of the CA nat'l forest trails were being reduced. There was not enough voter interest, budget nor enough riders understanding long term affects. That motivated me as a D36 Club president to research the issues. I spent years as a trail advocate creating mail campaigns, donating time fixing trails and donating money to Blue Ribbon, and then years in Search and Rescue helping people get back safely. A trail park with a large population nearby can be enjoyed by far more people (like my mentioned wife). Long ruts are not an intended technical feature on any trail. If we have the maintenance, more people get to push their technical skills there. I'm waiting to ride some favorite trails in Inyo and Los Padres,10s of miles have yet to be repaired/reopened after Hurricane Hillary. Miss Trails' videos helps to highlight responsible use and she plays a part in advocacy, intentional or not. I'm grateful for her work and for you giving me the chance to spread the word. Now, lets go for a ride. 😁
