I saw an interview Carl gave and he said it's Caren Wheeler from Soul II Soul singing on this song. Jane kept giving excuses about not wanting to damage her vocals "per doctor's orders" so they had Caren come in and finish the song.
Loose Ends Ain't no joke!! This hits hard!! I remember when this came out!! Everybody in the U.S. wanted too sound like them!! Ask Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis!!
@@StylistecS I wouldn't say copy but they took elements of their sound and created their own thing but apparently Jam & Lewis were pissed off with them, so gave song Human to human League, or something like that. Human league were on same label as loose ends
This is a very underrated group....one of the best of the 80s. Certainly they were stylish and had their own flavor. Really was different from anything that was being produced in the states at that time....and honestly some people started biting their sound.
This track by the original line-up of Loose Ends was one of the last hits the original group had on their last studio album together 'The Real Chuckeeboo' in 1988. Not only were the group still coming out with the hits they (as you can see from this music video) had truly mastered the art of performance in a music video. The Real Chuckeeboo's music videos represented a time where the creativity of music videos were there for the group to have the finest representation in visual music videos that the group had made so far in their music career. It was such a shame that personal problems in the group made the group split up after this studio album was made. They are still though, the finest Black-British Soul Group that the United Kingdom has ever produced.
@@karenmurray4608 I hate to say this but it's because of a situation like that I even exist I was a baby created out of that kind of thing going on if it had never happened I wouldn't exist yes it's wrong but I didn't do it so it's not my fault. 😁
Don't you notice there were alot of R & B Trios over the Years. The Undisputed Truth, Shalamar (who were created on Soul Train US), The Hues Corporation, Odyssey, and them.
It may be hard to get the Rights let alone an Interview. They are British as you already know. I saw a Documentary called The Big Reunion where they reunite alot of Boy Bands/Girl Groups from the late 1990's/early 2000's and there were alot of Amazing R & B Acts. Another Level, The Honeyz, Eternal, & Damage. Check them out they were really good.
The sad thing about this great song was that it was one of the last GREAT songs that they preformed together. Between 1982-89 Loose Ends, Janet Jackson, Cameo, The Gap Band, Shalamar, Five Star and New Edition recorded some of the best R&B ever. Whoops.. I can't forget about The System and Lakeside.
I was heavy into British soul in the 80’s and 90’s. Soul II Soul, Loose Ends, Victoria Wilson-James, The Family Stand, Lisa Stansfield!! Ahh those were the days!
You know you're a diehard Loose Ends fan when you gotta have both the album and video version of songs on your ipod. I will never get tired of listening to these songs!
Glynn Ayers you are 1000% right. I've sent so many requests for Tv One to do an "Unsung" episode for Loose Ends. Fans would love it. Carl, Jane and Steve...we miss yall☆☆☆☆☆
This band was funky, and raw and pure! Real music right here y'all! A gift from overseas! This jam right here had that tight beat to it! Aldy Gaga, Justin Beiber, Christina Aguilera, Britney Spears, etc. TAKE SOME DAMN NOTES!!
@@poisoninyourcoffeewolvesof5182 right they are still timeless their songs still come on the radio almost 35 years later I was just a little girl growing up in this era although they came out in the early 80 's before I was born.
That funky bass line just sneaks up on you! I was 12 or 13 when this came out in 1988? Here I am, 42, and still digging this. Always liked their videos, too. They were so cute, silly and animated. British Soul at it's BEST! That BASS LINE, tho! Daaaaayyyyuuuummm!!! 🎸🎸🎸🎸
this has always been one of my favorites - the song is timeless - but never saw the video for this until just now - makes me like the song even more! and Traci750 is right they don't make music like this no more - Loose Ends is a class act...
oh man, -mr bachelor- i'm really diggin this mix and video, it's the original group, listenin from atlanta, at work on a wednesday mornin june 2015, this mix brings back so many great memories of family once all in GA, hee hee
MCCHORD AFB, WASHINGTON 1986, SO MANY GOOOOOD MEMORIES RUNNING ACROSS THIS SONG AND VIDEO...I HAD THIS CASSETTE TAPE and there is a longer version of this song....I need to find it!
At the time of the Real Chuckeeboo Album, the group had made some of the finest music and music videos they had EVER done in the Group's music career. This is why the breakup of the group was( and still is) so disheartening.
that was the bomb... used to blast that in my car and on my 80s HI-FI... I had the vinyl and CD version... it has walked away from my possession now. lol.. the long version really hits...
Oh this song brings back memories of high school! Love the bass line and the synthesizer. Love looking at these 3 in this video--visually entertaining and I'm dancing right along with them! Thank you for posting this!
WOW! I never saw this video when the song was current. Their videos were always quirky, kinda cheap looking, but the music is fantastic and endures to this day! I have all their albums downloaded in my MP3 player! Brings back all kind of memories!
This is 10. british hit LOOSE ENDS. In juni 1988 number 50 in UK singles chart. Mr. Bachelor is b) from title REAL CHUCKEEBOO a) Tommorow and c) You´ve Just Got To Have It All.
@@beverlytate8391 I'm sure all of the women wanted a shot at that right there get you some of that British love I ain't mad at ya but I hate it because I wasn't old enough to know about it 😁😁💀.
