Loose Receiver Hitch: Solution 

The axle is centered under the deck so it is prone to bouncing when empty. The bouncing accentuates the play in the receiver, especially on these roads. To make matters worse, the sound resonates throughout the truck. I tried the commercial "quiet hitch" and it was not very effective.
1/2" steel bar stock, 5/8" Grade 8 bolt and some muscle and this is the fix. The difference is night and day.
