Loosing our inner child excitement 

Well said! The ability we had when we were kids to get lost in something, for hours and days to go by without us noticing, we haven't lost that ability to fall in love with new activities, we've just somewhat forgotten about it. The thing is, social norms and responsibilities push us towards regularity, comfort, and routines. It's harder now to explore and get lost, but that doesn't mean it's suddenly not worth it anymore, we just need to find a way to work it into our busy schedules. (Sorry for the pedantry but I think it should be losing* 😝, loosing is another way of saying loosening)
