I would say keep the stuff from broken boxes. you erned it by geting that knife + its a sick unboxing even when you dont have lockpicks.

You can force game time to advance through console or debug menu to get the life back through life granter, other than that don't know if there are other ways though.

Breakables are fine so long as you break them with a knife imo, just gotta get that gamma doppler fade first (aka a 37% condition, rusty, dull scout knife).

Darkscape seems to be pretty mean to you on this run, but those sniper cases are definitely worth it. Got me a SR-25 in mint condition 10 hours into the run.

You have a knife so make goddamn sure to use it... and take all the shit, that drops. Also you were quite lucky with those boxes at least what I usually get from them if anything. Don't wanna ruin the fun but the Psyblock was a quest reward, hence... you know... toss it.

It's not as easy to unbox a knife to begin with and as you progress further north you'll have to sink way more material which is not nearly enough obtained in cases, so unboxing with a knife is not over powered dude, keep on at it

In attempt 1 the progression was too fast because you could buy lockpicks + open RF packages, now it's kinda slow, maybe even too slow so I think it's fine if you keep opening these boxes, plus knife is kinda worthless if you don't, like sure you can kill shit with it but getting regular guns + ammo is so much easier

The darkscape has cheated you so many times, get that lift back, if you can and maybe a top tier case too. Feels bad man..

THERE IS A WAY TO GET YOUR LIVES BACK. I'll repost basically the same comment I left when I tried to save your Grandpa's Gats run after those unfair life losses. the console *IN the debug menu* can be used to skip time ahead to get the ironman lives that you lost back (shouldn't effect hunger/thirst but make sure you're full health first anyway just in case) you type: time 100,0,0 In the debug menu's console and it should skip like half an in-game day. I'd find out how many hours from a life grant you are, then skip time over and over until you get back the lives which were lost illegitimately, then try to match up the 'hours until next life' cycle as close as you can to the legit number of hours you were originally waiting for. *This is the only way to keep your saves from being deleted via deaths from unfair or glitchy game behavior in iron-man. By forcing life-grants.* Consider carefully the amount of lives you're owed, personally I think many life losses in this run were silly. Also consider that the forced progress of time may auto-complete some tasks you have, so maybe make sure you have none, at least not in the same area you do the debug, only if you think that it would give you unacceptable free progress, anyway. Also, have a fantastic birthday celebration! Cheers for the honestly stellar entertainment

I think box breaking reduces the run. It makes it less unique, and less challenging.

That was rough, I would def cheat in a life, that was a broken game issue not a skill issue, shouldnt be punished for it. As for breaking boxes, Break them they are a loot box, randomly generated loot randomly found through the zone, if its an op drop your luck was good, most time they have shit in them, its just paying you back for not getting lockpick set or gunsmithing tools

I say boxes count as loose loot, not lootboxes. I lean towards boxes you have to unlock only.
