These are responsible anglers unlike in some Eastern European countries who drive to Norway & take all they can (this is currently being clamped down upon at border patrols thankfully). You can see Cod to 40lb being returned from the boat in the video and the trips were all about sport and the thrill of catching massive Cod that you can tell your grandchildren about and show the pictures :) I hope that puts some minds to rest? no responsible angler likes to see our seas raped of fish!
Unless he has a industrial freezer he wont be able to keep them longer than perhaps 3 months or so.. he could also blockfreeze them, but I doubt he does. My real point is that paying for a fishing trip to another country and then fish like these guys, well, it's mad, our seas will get empty real quick if everyone does like they advocate. Catch and release is the keyterm here. We fish ALOT ourselfs, we live of our fish, and when I see things like this I understand why theres less fish out there
That looks like fantastic fishing lads, my club are off to Sandland Brigge, Loppa in 2015, hope to see some big fish when we get there. I can understand the comments some people are posting, but as far as I could see, most of the fish were returned alive to the sea to fight another day. It can be a brutal looking sport to those who don't partake, but I wonder if the people complaining realise the brutality of commercial fishing methods, where hundreds of tons of cod are half suffocated then gutted alive before being processed. That is the reality of fish fingers on plates. I have a great respect for the fish I catch, and only kill those I intend to eat, I agree there is no point killing vast amounts of fish if they are to be wasted, a video or photograph is all we will need to remind us of a fantastic fishing experience. Good luck.
jason haw Hi Jason, im not sure how to send a personal message through this media, but our club website, marinerseaangling.co.uk is there for all to view, and you can contact me through that, I look forward to hearing your ideas and experiences. I have organised 3 trips to Norway for our club, and I have posted a video, "Scotsman catches big Norway cod", on RU-vid also.
Give us a clue then ? Where was it .exactly Where did you stay and do you have contact details ? Who's boat did you go out on ?and do you have contact details ? How much did the whole trip cost per person ? did you go by car or fly. ? Lastly how many of you went on the trip. Look forward to your reply.
It look very fun, and i don't mind you coming to Norway to Fish. Personly I would be more gentle With the Fish i was going to release. Maybe use a Catch net to take them into the boat and use a light bag to put the Fish in when you weight them. (Sorry bad English)
Don't talk crap man line fishing isn't to blame its trawlers and commercial fishing that dos the harm, Norwegians are always around the Irish coast catching tonnes of OUR fish
Having just read the comments I think it's best if it's explained just what went on over the 3 trips in the video(s) that were knitted together. For every 1 fish caught 6 were returned and in the UK your allowed a maximum of 20kg to return to the UK. These lads brought home 20kg of fish each and the rest were eaten during their stay or returned alive. It was all about the thrill of catching huge Cod and NOT pillaging the Norwegian seas without respect for fish.
Good video but having fished Norway for the past 5 years i do get annoyed at the killing of too many fish you cant take them home so kill a few to eat and put the rest back.
