I’m an owner of a Lorca Model No. 1 GMT for approximately 2 months. I ran across it on the website of a very respected luxury watch/jewelry store one afternoon. The 5-6 photos instantly caught my attention. It was the well executed vintage vibe in a size that I love that stopped me from moving on. Every detail came together faultlessly as if it were a well preserved classic from the 40’s. It screamed subdued eloquence and class. From there, I spent the next hour and a half researching Lorca and Jesse Merchant. Quite a journey to say the least. The story behind the watch design was compelling; however, the man behind the brand was the real surprise. I won’t waste anyone’s time with what I found. Do your own research when you have time on your hands. A true talent and now a found treasure. In fact I’m wearing my Lorca and listening to Jesse as I type. My watch is one of my favorites, probably top 3. So, his second design will be a cult classic for those that can reserve the Model No.2 and wait patiently 6 months or so. That’s a real concern, I understand that. The watch and price isn’t. For those that go forward, congrats !!!
The inflation in the watch industry is mind-boggling. I'd pay a grand, maybe, but doubtless there are crazy people out there who will splash out for this thing.
Yeah it will sell out like their first model and the colourful rubbish studio underdog put out. People are buying this stuff and I don’t know why. Micros are just decoration around an off the shelf movement. And then people says all you pay for with a Rolex is marketing lol
Picked up a MAMACOO 's watch as my first watch last month and I’m absolutely in love with it. Perfect size, looks elegant, very comfortable. Now my only problem is holding off from buying more watches so quickly!
Nice looking watch but we've seen this Tri-Compax look from a bunch of Micro-Brands before and at about a grand cheaper with the Selita movement as well. I'd take a Baltics, Nivida Grenchen, Farer etc... 2,650.00 for a watch pre-order that won't be available until May 2025, that's not pre-order it's an interest free loan.....Thanks but I'll pass.
Genuine question, what microbrand has a “better” tri compax at a cheaper price? The Baltic is slightly cheaper, about €350. But it has a very homage-esque unoriginal design compared to this one
@@Xithz And not just a comparatively less original design, but the Baltic has neither a 12 hour bezel nor 10ATM WR (theirs is 5ATM). The Farer is much bigger too, so this satisfies a few different preferences for some folks that other cannot. Otherwise, I do like the Nivada chrono with interchangeable bezel and similar specs, which leaves only the subjective appraisal of aesthetics/design.
@@fornana Yeah, I think 12 hour bezels are great for traveling or keeping track of times in the West or the East, but if you frequently cross hemispheres or track times far apart the 24 hour is better at a glance
Oh man! It beautiful. At first I really didn’t like the “Model No. 2” on the dial. But after a few minutes I to the video and looking at the watch more, everything is forgiven.
Own Lorcas forst GMT model and i love it, the finishing and detailing are exquisite and the service from Jesse and the team was top drawer, love this one also but bit pricey for me
The competitor to this is the Maen Skymaster, a watch you can order right now rather than waiting for May. I mulled on this Lorca the whole weekend; I never considered the Maen because their first copy said it had a screw-down crown but I contacted them and they verified that it does not have a screw-down crown so now the Skymaster is the one for me. Pros: Maen: ceramic bezel, $600 cheaper, panda dial option. Lorca: tool-less microadjust, lume. When considering the two, I was very reluctant to pay the extra $600 for the Lorca - it's nice but not that nice, plus I prefer the panda dial as opposed to a reverse panda.
got my 39mm with the white dial on the 3-link "Bader" bracelet watch on MAMACOO 3 weeks ago and am loving it to pieces. Absolute fantastic watch that wears super comfortable on my 6.75 inch wrist. Chose the 3-link over the 5-link bracelet for the toolless quick adjustment. Way more comfortable than my Longines Hydroconquest 41 mm.
I don’t know about them being historic. The brand died and was purchased by a random guy with a passion for watches. I like the sea diver but I just don’t see “revived” brands as historic
First time commenting, but HAD to say it: YOU are terrific! Watching your videos for a long time and yours is the best watch related channel on YoiuTube! ... if only you improved your editing...
I love this watch...!! But wish it was 39mm... i'm still going to get one though..! great review by the way...! all the best from rainy London, England
Really cool. I love the small size. I got a similarly priced Seiko speedtimer recently. I really like it but it's quite big. This isn't. Which makes ideas about selling and buying happen to me.
Think it's a real lovely looking piece. Dial, hands and bracelet all very very nice. Wish it were a wee bit slimmer though, and also wish it had a display caseback (I know I know, display caseback would likely mean even thicker case, but a guy can dream, can't he?) And the endlinks look a bit large or clunky. Perhaps it's just compared to the relatively small case?
Very interesting indeed... Love that groved bezel with the numbers. Not so keen on a hand winder but the power reserve is 63 hours and it has no date so its easy to set. Its just over 2k in the UK which is not cheap but its so beautiful (in my eyes). Not so keen on the 14mm thickness.. How does it feel ? I know the case its under 12 and the rest is crystal...
I like my model 1 in black. This model 2 is nice but too thick for my liking. Good thing my 36mm Paul Picot satisfies my dressy chrono need…at the moment.
This clasp look very much the same as San Martin's and Squale Masters new braclet. Probably the same exact model. I like it, but I would like to know who makes it.
At this price point I'd just buy a vintage Valjoux 72-based watch. I mean, it's very pretty. But it's 14mm thick and has none of the charm of Valjoux 72 pieces.
Im not inclined to pay 2 to 3 grand on a micro brand watch. In the early days of micro brand watches, the attraction was getting something of good quality for less money. These days they are often charging what lower tier luxury watches sell for. And with the same movements inside.
Tudor gets absolutely slaughtered for the thickness of the black bay pro…. This is a travesty as a 14mm manual wind watch . Sorry.. this is too small and yet.. too big. Great video though. It’s appreciated
I have a real SUB but I also bought one of these replicas from MAMACOO for piece of mind if I go to another country or if I am doing activities that can damage the watch. I don't see anything wrong with that.

It's sad that watches that look good cost over 1k+. MAMACOO watches are REALLY well made, and it just shows how a brand name on a watch can make its price 10x higher. I understand that if you look under a microscope, you'll find the difference, but just how many of you really inspect a watch at that level when you see someone with a watch?
