Another reason I like Frieza more than any other DBZ villain. He has his own theme song. Sides he is the one who destroyed Planet Vegeta and set the stage for Goku (and Vegeta, of course) to avenge the Saiyan Race.
I like it as a subversion of expectations. This isn't really his main theme, but still, you'd expect a song about him to sound regal and elegant, but it's incredibly violent sounding instead. I think that's interesting, and makes his resurrection scene cooler.
Frieza is the perfect villain of dragon ball (Sorry cell) He's absolutely ruthless, and the word mercy doesn't appear in his vocabulary. He conveys the perfect mix of slyness and intimidation. Of course his weakness is his obsession with beating goku, but that's hat makes a good villain, they have to have a flaw. So all hail Lord Frieza, Emperor of the universe!!!!!
You know the best thing about freeza storyline is, Goku and others didn't come looking for him or had any feud with him, even didn't know his existence while coming for Namek and when they reached , they destroyed the Freeza force because of a conflict of interest and then defeated freeza again due to conflict of interest and not because of his tyranny
Honestly, I like to think dee down. He was fighting to avenge Bardock, Kind Vegeta, Gine, and the Saiyans, even though Frieza survived Namek's destruction.

If you haven't already I would definitely recommend it. Try DB Kai which cuts out all the filler that was in the original anime. The TFS parody is also very good btw, especially their take on the namek/freeza saga was hilarious (the bit at the end of the video was from that).

Chris did good but he made Frieza sound more like a gentleman and only kills those who anger him while Linda Young made him evil, cruel and someone who takes pride in killing. Linda Young is the original and the true Frieza.

Tbh, this is the best if these things with this song and clips from the show. It matches well, it's well put together and it incorporates DBZ, the movies and Super which is really nice. The only issue is the bit at the end where you loop an extra bit in doesn't sound right. it would be better if you just had the starting Pwah part play again rather than the end and the beginning and then the end after the chorus.

The one character who got better in Dragon Ball Super. Seriously, I enjoy Super. But nost of the characters either downgrade or doesn't act like their old self. Yet somehow Frieza seem to either the same or much more evil than he first appear.

Sure Frieza is a genocidal maniac on a galactic scale, but man he had to put up with so much shit in a single day, I'm surprised he didn't just retire to Space Monaco when he survived Goku's attack, as well as the destruction of Namek.
You know, I think I can finally out it into words. The origin of this, the reason for Frieza's popularity, lies in what Frieza meant to those of us who grew up when this was first airing on toonami. I can't say for sure if it's the same in Japan (I suspect it is), but for many a kid at the time, I would say that Frieza was the face of intergalactic evil in a way that not even Lord Vader was. He was an evil beyond any other, a worthy enemy for Goku. He was a bad guy who wrecked the good guys shit for episode after episode, requiring one of the most iconic transformations of all time to defeat. To this day, people still think of Frieza when talking about being a space emperor or having multiple forms. In short, Lord Frieza was the villain my childhood needed and deserved, and will always top my list of best Dragonball villains!
