I mean he likes feeling magnanimous and classy and having a few people around to treat well so that they'll truly believe he's glorious and not just fear him. Break them into lesser versions of himself that justify his hedonistic megalomania lifestyle and then raise them up as superior to everyone but him.

My personal favourite is the one where he counts the number of times he has heard certain lines.
