I will admit, I actually got hit really hard when he said: “you’re the greatest” since he’s been fighting for that title his whole life. I actually cried when I thought about the reality of it, since this revealed how much heart he really was showing, and I just knew she was gonna spit him out, which I was worried would destroy him forever
that's also one of the first things I noticed bout them, one is an electrical Skeleton Man, the other is a Lava Monster, and they both wear some type of sneakers ..... Which is freaking hilarious

+Neverhoodian Hater just literally went through the story of my life. I mean no girl ever laughed in my face when I asked them out but, out of all of them, I've only had ONE girlfriend who cheated on me then dumped me. And every other girl I ask always gives me the exact same responses. "You're not my type," "You're more like a brother to me," "I'm interested in someone else," or the most common, "I already have a boyfriend."
+Bunny_Sophie123 yeah and thats the impressive thing i got from this, and also the most painful, hater would usually struggle to say anyt of the things in the song (your the greatest in the galaxy) if he didnt feel that way, at first I thought he was all like johnny bravo over her, but then it turns out he really feel that for her. I actually cried a little when she rejected him in such a horrible way.

These two sings kind of break my heart now This song is Hater putting his heart put in a very vulnerable spot, and then the next song pretty much shows how to smash a person's heart while also stomping on Wander's concept of univeral goodness in ways only Lord Dominator can. "I'm not your girlfriend", that line hurts twice as much now knowing what Hater was singing about just a few minutes ago.

He learned from Wander to "Ask Her a Question" and gave up his position as Greatest to someone else. He hits a REAL LOW after this, but this is definitely a peak.

Don't know if anyone else has pointed this out already, but I love that Hater goes from always claiming HE'S the greatest to calling Dominator the greatest in this song. That's character growth, even if it's small. Good job, Hatey. You're growing up. I'm so proud of you. :)
Not really. She heard it from the shower. Also: 1. It didn't win mine, and I'm very easy to "win over" when it comes to WOY's most heartfelt songs. 2. She was singing it in her free time lol 3. Lord Hater is Chaotic Evil. He does everything for the sake of being evil, not because of some rules or benefits for him. He actually hates all this stuff. For him "EVIL!" is depicted as "RAAAAAGH!!!!", which is the pure concept of Chaotic Evi.
This is actually really, really sad. I legitimately have to cry when he sings "YOU'RE THE GREATEST!" because it's such a large concession for Hater to make. HE wants to be the greatest and he gives it away just like that. It's an incredible act of selflessness for him, which can be seen as proof that he IS willing to change, just for her.
The only problem I have with this song is that I want to show it to people but there are, like, five different layers of character development going on at once but a person who hasn't seen almost every episode that comes before this just *can't* see them happening and, yeah, they'll see the really nice song and they might think it's great but they still won't *get it*, and that's really complicated. It's hard to say "Okay, I want you to watch a song. Your homework beforehand is seventeen-ish hours of other episodes and then this entire episode leading up to the song." So most people I know will never see this and even if they do I don't think they'll get it. Fortunately, I've still got the song, and it's great to watch right before bed on contemplative nights, especially if it's followed up by the reprise.
Since it was stated that that was Hater's fantasy sequence... And pretty much nothing except for the actions he and Wander did are real... I would actually love to see how it ACTUALLY played out. Just seeing him somehow ride an invisible car and kissing the air. Would be hilarious honestly.
Wander is a great wingman… but unfortunately for Hater he learned the hard lesson about having a crush and pouring your soul into expressing it… you can get crushed by the simple reason that they just don’t like or aren’t interested in you, plus healthy genuine relationships between villains are rare and unfortunately Dominator is a remorseless planet destroyer.

I can definitely see the connection in terms of personality (even though I consider Bloo more chaotic neutral). Though I can't tell if Hater would find him just as annoying as Wander, or if he would see a kindred spirit in him. I know Bloo as a tendency to piss almost anybody off.
A lot of credit has to be given to Keith Ferguson, not many people can sing a good musical number while sounding like they have a mouth full of gravel.

I just noticed... In this song, Wander plays his instrument, Hater is happy, Peepers & Sylvia are succeeding, and everything is ok. In the next song, I'm the bad guy, Hater is sad, Wander's instrument is destroyed, and Peepers & Sylvia are failing. The two songs cancel each other out!!!
that saxophone part was so funny! also I love the character development!!! for Hater so say someone else is the greatest made me shed a tear. such a big step for him.
