Lord L6 Review - Come learn about this budget safety razor! 

I have this razor. I always go back to it. It's an excellent razor for home and travel. It's cheap and I've never cut myself with it. I get an excellent shave, even with cheap dorco blades. This video was rather dreadfully fussy.

Absolutely nothing wrong with this razor. Are there better? Yeah of course. But for under $15 it's a great razor. All he does is bash it. And it's FINE for a beginner. It's not that aggressive. Don't listen to this guy. It's fine to start with, as a first double edge razor. The Gillette Rubie is another good starter. Merkur razors rock. Merkur are awesome. And Weishi suck. They're junk.

This sets the blade perfectly flush and even. I placed a heavier handle from another razor, it gives an excellent shave.

I myself find that the "Lord L6" gave me a nice comfortable close shave & had no Irritation or razor burn at all,,,, I'm not to fond the aluminum handle they decided to use on the L6 because you have to be careful to make sure that you don't over tighten the handle to the head of the razor, Because Over tightening this handle you will eventually strip the threading in the aluminum handle with the harder threaded center post on the head of the razor...... other than that it gives me a nice comfortable close shave & I would recommend this razor to new wet shavers as a first low costing DE razor to start off,,,, & ,,,,, with without spending a lot of money on some thing their not really sure they will keep using or go back to a cartridge razor.

I was kinda hoping to see if the blade hangs over the edge. but you move so fast. can't get a good look at it with the blade in.

This is the best safety razor , I have 4 of the expensive razor and non of them shaves like this one...I am happy with this razor...

I bought a L125 from Lord last week and expected to have a mild razor , but this razor is very aggressive , like a level 4 or 5 comparing with rockwell 6C, I have other razors , also one Lord, but my other Lord is very very mild , so I am going to give away the L125 one, regards robert

Agree with all of the comments -- this review is the exception from popular opinion of this razor. Still, it provides a good alternate perspective, so it's not a terrible thing as long as people watch other reviews of this razor to balance it out. Agreed that this razor is NOT aggressive -- at least, not compared to even the Edwin Jagger/Muhle head on the DE89 (that one always nicks me and gives me weepers). 5/10 is probably right, but a 7+ is what I'd considered more cautionary for new shavers. I alternate between this razor, my 3-piece Merkurs, and the Shark SH.25 (which is identical in construction to the Lord razors with the Merkur style heads, except with a black plastic handle and none of the branding on the top plate), and I find there is little difference between the three. As for the balance in weight -- the razor head isn't exactly an overly heavy piece, so the weighting balance is negligible unless you are shaving with the razor held perfectly horizontally -- but then, you aren't really shaving. :D I always shave against the grain, which means that I tend to hold my razor upside down -- and the weight balance is not inconvenient whatsoever. In fact, the lightness of the razor handle makes it ideal to pack for air travel, for the truly weight conscious, re: luggage fees. (that is, back when we were all allowed to travel...)

Sometimes i use lord razor head with another handle to shave my scalp. Always good result. One of the best de razors. The geometry is even beter than on more expensive razors. Sorry for my english.

Combine lord head with razorock bulldog handle you get an amazing razor, top notch

I want to know your opinion. What is different DE safety razor Merkur 34c and Lord L6? I know that Mercur has heavier handle, and better quality, but the heads of them are very similar. How this razors differ in process of shaving? Sorry for bad English.

With my limited experience I cut my face up with heavy weights razors. I don't need dish scrubbing pressure to shave so its less work using lighter razor for me would I want to buy the razor in this video?

I only tried whats in my local store and prefer my TTO vanderhagen to 3 piece gillet. What do you think would be the best razor to get if I wanted to try another 1?

order a different handle. The extra weight and better grip, make this an awsome razor

Can handle be used for 1960s gillette tech travel razor?

I have blade alignment problems with mine as well and I don't like the light handle. It iss an OK razor. for the same money around $10 you can get a vintage Gillette Tech that is a perfect beginner razor and every day shave razor and bulit to last.

I have a few cheaper razors . I always go back to my merkur 34c . It is heavy and I just get the best shave with it . No razor burn . No cuts or nicks .

Looks very similar to E.J., Merkur, Mühle, and Parker.

I have no balance prolems with it whatsoever, it's been my favorite razor for the past two years. I rarely use my Muhle R89 now, which is a great razor, by the way. I simply found this Lord to be more effective and easier to control. Oh, by the way, it works great with Gillette Platinum (blue package) blades, for my barbed wire whiskers and sensitive skin. The only problem is I can't find them online anymore, at least here in Europe...

I use light razors like this one with almost no pressure, it's not the weight of a razor who cuts hairs ! And remember that your razor is not alone but held by your hand. In fact, with light razors you have to pay attention to not press more than with heavy razors. "Compensation" is a mistake of the brain

I know this over 2 years old but, while the head may have chrome plating, it is not "made" of chrome plating, lol. J/S. =)-

Find a vintage Gillette Tech 3 piece razor for $10-$15 depending on condition. Give it a good cleaning and you're good to go. MUCH better razor than this.

I have become the king of very cheap DE razors. The Lord L6 is a bargain. I have a fgew Baili's, Wishi, Rimei, and probably a dozen more. The two I like the best is the Feather Popular and the Lord L6. For those of you whop only want to spend about $5 try a Baili 181. It is an amazing razor also based on the Gillette Tech abd dirt cheap. One last thing, although I do not have it yet, I ordered a Gillette DE razor brand new from China for $5 and shipping. I don't know if it is really a Gillette, although the name is stamped on the head piece.
