You may think sliver overlord having 4 heads and 5 colors is bad flavor, however it’s noteworthy that sliver overlord has 4 heads and 1 butt, which obviously represents white.
Jodah was my first commander too. Somehow it just turned into a Thassa's Oracle + Demonic Consultation engine though. I think in my case it would be a 1/5.
Oh my sweet child. I can't imagine not casting big spells with Jodah. I rate my Jodah games based on how many Ultimatums I fire off. A poor game, maybe just 1 into defeat. A good game, maybe 2-3 and they set you up for success. A perfect game, all of my uniquely named ones and a couple copies with Mnemonic Deluge on the side, and your entire deck is on the table and +15/+15. Come on now. Everyone goes through fastest win con phases, if you're done with yours then rebuild ya boi.
Jodah was my first 5 color commander before I got the Ur dragon precon. Then it was Ur-dragon, legendary dragon tribal before I decided to combine it with Ramos God tribal and make Ramos the commander... then they printed Sisay weatherlight captain and jodah was cut from the deck completely to allow for max goodstuff bs (it's literally all the theros gods, Rhonas God eternal, Gisela, reki, jhoira, nykea, the spirit who returns legendary creatures back to hand when they die, kethis and arvad. For dragons it's all 5 color ones (and morophon), all the tri color pay 3 for x effect ones, all the on attack dragon lords, karthus, the dragon that makes dragon tokens, wasitoria (for the tokens UwU) and that's it. Non legendary wise it's only 3 cards. Chromatic lantern, mirari's wake, and Lurking predators (which is amazing when you only have 7 or 8 noncreature spells in the deck...) It should NOT win as often as it does, but it do. Something something God's don't die, something something, heroes podium, something something lethal, play my whole deck then mill everybody out for several times their deck. All it takes to stop me is a kill spell and since I'm so slow to start up, nobody even bothers
Finally a fellow train tribal connoisseur! So glad my fav deck type is getting some hype but wizards really needs a good train commander that partners with Toluz, Clever Conductor. There’s just not enough support to leave modern atm 😰
That moment when you read the title, click the video, go through the entire video….only to re-look at title to realize there were no tiers. Brilliant as always Colossal Dreadnoah 🎉
Oloro was my first commander also got him for $35, threw some upgrades into it like Shielded by Faith, Curator's Ward, Wall of Reverence, Sorin Markov, and a few others. I usually win games with 700+ health due to the Serra Avatar + Wall of Reverence combo.
Only flaw... new blood exists and is very funny against krenko. On a side note, my brother won't play krenko against Edgar anymore... understandable since it happened every game between the 2 decks
Woow jodah was my first commander too. I built it as a dragon tribal for some reason and even though i was mostly reducing the cost of my dragons by 1 or 2 it was pretty fun. (Also it was budget af, so it wasnt working for the most part, but I had fun) its kinda sad to see where im now, playing on very very high power commander and I dont think my younger self would be proud..
@@Aubsty nah, im quite happy, where I am and I very much like high power (hoping to someday get into cEDH when there will be money for it), it is just that when I look back its kinda nostalgic.
It's okay. You can always rebuild ya boy. You can build a five color manabase of entirely tapped lands with a deck of cheap rares and you'll still dunk on them. I believe in the inner child that believes in you.
Play yarok! Most creatures are shared and the wincons stay similar. Or slowly add more reanimate stuff until you enter meren territory, or even gitrog if you like combo!
I just discovered you, and when I heard what yous aid about Flynn.....ohhhhh...well, let me tell you something! My inner soul laughed deeply, and I felt compeled to subscribe. Love this lol!
I’m kinda new to mtg and the first commander I used was Klauth, Unrivaled Ancient in my red/green dragon deck. I’m able to get out some huge monsters and deal a lot of damage. I’ve really enjoyed playing it and hope to see how I can improve.
What do you think about "Jhoira of the Githu"? Izzet colours but you use her to suspend big bad eldrazis, dinosaurs, and wordending events (like Jokulhaups, Worldfire)
what do you think about my favorite commander, Mogis God of Slaughter. He's very fair and balanced, and offers unique gameplay experiences to other players. :)
My 1st was Urza, Prince of Kroog with a bunch of artifact creatures, just to test and have confidence building a deck. It's not the most meta but big robots cool
You could probably find someone to give you the extra thick Precon Urza card to dabble with a bit of black. While writing this I realized that you can have Urza lead the Necrons, I just think that's hilarious.
my MTG Mentor has a Zaxara The Exemplary commander deck, with villainous Wealth in it, and the entire idea with his deck is to get his nyxbloom ancient on the battlefield, and then make a ton of copies of it, crank Wealth for 1000 mana, and then just runs you down with your own deck, either that or steals someone's deck and runs down everyone
Considering he likes big stompy stomp and dragons, I'm surprised he didn't give Miirym a 5/5, probably because of it being temur rather than gruul. But also all the commanders I'm building/play (except 4 color Omnath lol) got a s good rating so that's nice
Isshin should actually be rated as a 5/5, not because he has a good ability but because he has the high ground. Otherwise I agree that gishath is a cool dude. I love my Dino deck
My first precon was Draconic Dissent, with Firkraag, Cunning Instigator. Goad is cool, but not my kind of playstyle. Then yesterday I got Draconic Destruction, with Atarka, World Render. He's cool, I like big damage with double strike, but it's not quite what I want. Then my brother's girlfriend recommended Miirym, and I already love it. Just ordered him and 18 other cards that'll fit quite well. Now it's just looking which cards I want exactly. Also, I did put Atarka as a non-commander in the new deck for Miirym :)
As someone who has built a Jhoira Weatherlight Captain deck, you can hate it all you like. I WILL burn through my library at record speed and then either die or make everyone lose the game, not just at my table but also the next table over.
Voltron Jhoira is hilarious if you've never tried it. Mine is tuned for it since I'm not a fan of Aetherflux/Storm, but any other deck can literally just run a single copy of Nettlecyst and Greaves to threaten to dome a player out of nowhere. They'll never see it coming
My one and only commander deck is Izzet. Mizzix of the izmagnus. And not lot of people talk about this card, can u make a vídeo on it ? (I play magic for 2 years now).
Nekusar is absolutely amazing. Even if someone other than me plays him, Im like oh yes please make me draw. Nekusar is amazing anywhere on the table, I will gladly give my life to you to draw extra cards and see my other 2 opponents writhe in pain. 5/5 top 3 favorite commander cards of all time. But then its usually turns out to be a 3v1 when hes in play. Still 5/5
I have a colourless deck with Ugin, the spirit dragon as my commander and his -x ability just wipes the board most of the time. Every one of my friends hate that deck now.
"3/5 is the best Izzet can hope for" respect my girl jhoira of the githu, aka the cool jhoira aka yeah im playing counters and drawing but next turn a huge eldrazi with haste is gonna punch you in the face
I have a dino deck, and my first comander was suns avatar by my cousin (an edgar player) would always hard target so i had to switch to atla to get less aggro
I'm a general Atla player and I get the flavor behind a dino hatching out of an egg or whatever, but I'd think Gishath is just generally more fun for dino tribal
