LORNA SHORE - Immortal (OFFICIAL VIDEO). Taken from the album "Immortal", out January 31st, 2020. Order now: LornaShore.lnk.to/ImmortalID Directed by Joey Durango Produced by Durango Films
@@lorenmeans4463 Both are top tier vocalists, I just happen to prefer CJ. CJ's screams are clearer, hit heavier, much more masculine and are more recognisable.
Because it's a genre that gets very easily stale and lacks substance. Once you hear one band, you almost hear them all. And the only ''wow'' factor that remains is a competition of which vocalist does the gnarliest lows or the most unexpected highs. I for myself am very, very picky with deathcore. And the bands that will make the cut are the ones who will show evolution and maturity in their sound overtime.
Hell yeah, the symphonic bits are what really sets this apart from other deathcore bands and honestly is what brought me here from my heavy metal and metalcore roots haha. The breakdown is just the gravy, the instrumentation in this song is absolutely nuts. Almost 7 minutes and I like listening to the whole ass thing, every time.
Abso-freakin-lutely. The post-breakdown symphonics (both the return and the crescendo) are already next-level, but the breakdown makes them transcendent. It's like they throw you into a pit and start shoveling dirt on top of you, and just when you think you're not making it out alive, the melodic guitar pulls you up and into the open air again. It's a deft manipulation of emotion.
@@pundemoniuumgames3815 Heavy symphonic just captures my (imaginary) soul. Like this, and Dimmu Borgir, and even Gears by Dethklok. I can't listen to Gears very often because when I do, I have no choice but to crank the volume to ear-splitting levels.
New Lorna shore are top tier but for me, this is their most memorable and artistic track ever, the atmosphere and the visuals are something else, this track is simply immortal.
Yeah man the new Lorna is good but this album will forever be one of the best deathcore albums i’ve ever heard. Have to wait for them to drop an album with Will before I judge any further though
@@aamiw99 lol I'm just joking. My mom always says this sounds like they're speaking in tongues so I was saying until you're possessed you wont understand what they're saying.
@@cadavher ooohh yeah I get that. My mum used to listen to rock in the 90s so she's cool. I've never actually heard this band before and I really dig this song. There's always like 50 comments with all the lyrics but here there's none, and they weren't online at the time.
Metal is evolving, truly. I have been metalhead for about 30 years and I see a lot of genres expanding. This song is Deathcore to its core, but its branching out to symphonic and melodic parts.
This is honestly why I'm developing more respect for deathcore lately. The stuff from 10-15 years ago, particularly the "scene kid" kind of genres, never appealed to me 100%. I love that a lot more melodic elements are being incorporated now while still staying essential to its identifying characteristics.
This is blackened Deathcore at its finest. Lorna Shore have always been blackened and in my opinion, the best at it. Like, I don't think you get much better than this fucking song right here. It is a masterpiece. The symphonic bits blend well in this song.
Metalhead for almost twenty myself, I am absolutely digging this trend of wayhuge stuff with orchestral bits. Reminiscent of old blackened or melodic death metal, aka the stuff that got me into bangin my head. At the same time, just when I thought I was completely over deathcore as a whole, I hear this and I'm right back into it again.
@@Dontlettheworldrot Will Ramos made me think I disliked Lorna Shore because he was the first vocalist I heard performing with them....turns out I don't dislike Lorna Shore because this song kicks ass, I just dislike Will Ramos lmfao.
Lyrics Repulsive sermonizer, vile wrathful prophesier Psalms and chants disgorging in hateful tongues Line up his children one by one forced to be hung Let the sin filled air be ripped from their lungs All the daughters, and the sons, and everyone you think you loved The life that you lived that you thought was enough Was not good enough when corrupt judgement day comes The immortal question The cesspool we rest in The immortal question When will you learn your fucking lesson? Immortal, obscurity In death, was once beauty Eternal, tyrrany A life of purpose bound to cruelty The mouth sewn prophets Bleed from their lips For the scriptures of serpent skin, they can still run Unanswered, inside Empowered, in solace The immortal question The cesspool we rest in The immortal question When will you learn your fucking lesson? Immortal, obscurity In death, was once beauty Eternal, tyrrany A life of purpose bound to cruelty The immortal question The cesspool we rest in The immortal question The final breath that slips from your lungs Is when you learn your lesson The immortal question The final breath that slips from your lungs Is when you learn your lesson All this madness All of your depression All of this madness The scriptures, they will no longer be forced in And shoved down your throat Immortal, obscurity In death, was once beauty Eternal, tyrrany A life of purpose bound to cruelty The scripture they wrote Will no longer be force fed And shoved down your throat
They took what's best from symphonic music. Took what's best from Death Metal. Took what's best from Melodic Death Metal. Took what's best from Black Metal. Took what's best from Deathcore... and then there is that FUCKING voice. That's it. That's the new quality standard. That's insane.
I mean yeah, Lorna Shore has really been killing it lately, but is this the most glorious song ever? Like, you all can have your own opinion, I'm not gonna give anyone hate for that, but I don't know, man. Shadow of Intent brought out some killer tracks in all their albums so far, especially with Melancholy this year, and I'm really digging Black Tongue, Enterprise Earth and Infant Annihilator as well. Not sure if Lorna Shore quite makes the top of the list there, but I do agree they are definitely somewhere up there
Real shit dude. They evolved like no other band. This is the only single I've come to really like. Not record, just single. All around a talented group of young men.
And then when he goes "QUESTION!" and then the guitar goes WIDDELY WIDDLY WOOOOW. While the bass is like BUUUUUM BUM BUM BUUUUUM. And the drums go BRRRRR BRLRLRLRLRL BRRR BRRR. Such amazing song writing just blows me away.
This song has been my coping mechanism for the longest time. Whenever I feel like things are getting too much I put this on and it's almost like it's a wall of sound that wraps around me and protects me. I know, it's weird. And when he screams IMMORTAL in the chorus I can't help but feel slightly more empowered and better about myself.
Exactly as CUO said, and there's people who still say it's just nothing even if there's pictures of some shit about it as well as not really a reason to make that shit up. And CJ himself still refuses to speak up about his side of the story, and he pretty much abandoned ship like a coward when he deleted all his social media so no one would ever come up to him about it, that is just another proof to me that those are not false accusations, if they were, he wouldn't flee the scene, but try to prove his innocence instead. I think the ones who still support him either just never did research or are following CJs shit because they are obsessed with him like any stereotypical pre-teen girl would be with her favorite celeb. However, I also gotta add that the abuse victim had some very questionable morals herself, but that doesn't change that the shit CJ did was just not right. I at least hope both of them will get their shit together some day
@@theflyingfudgeman9118 the first thing you do when you have accusations agaist you is contact a lawyer, and they will most likely recommend deleting all of your social media

Duuuude... To be honest, it took me a while to get into, but towards the final chorus I finally started hearing it. So I just listened to this song for the second time... How is this even possible to be that fucking good? How can you come up with and make something so incredibly good? I think my ears just had orgasm. I’m fucking blown away. That’s the power of real music
Such massive build up and cj delivers perfectly with the vocals lorna shore know what they're doing the way they adapted from tom to cj to will is amazing definitely a top tier deathcore band imo
I wont, innocent untill proven guilty, same thing happened to bassist from NeO and vocalist from Alpha Wolf, NEITHER were convicted of anything, but treated the same way from similar accusations from people. Fuck cancel culture, and fuck these spineless bands.
@@MidnightHell421 I agree. Shit like this happens a lot, either it happened or it didn't. I think CJ should speak out and hopefully somehow resolve this
@@ragingkid4248 lmao what? How can u call Pain Remains “generic”? People were upset cuz it’s not traditional Deathcore. Bruh, I mean, ppl are never satisfied anyways, just shut up and enjoy the fkin music man
I totally agree. Dude this album Is probably my favorite all time deathcore album. Love the pain remains album but I do hope on there next album to go in this direction
I'll NEVER get tired of this song.... The brutality give me peace in mind... The lyrics tear my soul apart but the melody put it back together again... Oh man, what a RIDE!
I'm late to the party but played this album for the first time at 1AM just when Hurricane Ian (Sept 2022) was just starting to hit with 70+ mph gusts and coming across the state. My windows were starting to shake, it was blackk outside, the rain was wicked, and I was waiting for the roof to blow. This shit hit hardddd. Lorna blew the roof that night.
Lorna and Will at the moment produced an EP that was absolutely fucking magnificent. And previous you had CJ which imo produced the best deathcore album to ever be released. Yeah I mean, there is basically nothing to add or take away from this band. They are simply astonishing in every shape and form.
More Melodic than last three singles, Kinda sounds like shadow of intent here and there which is a good thing. This album is definitely gonna be one of the best albums of 2020.
I got the shadow of intent vibe too. Awesome song. I think the four releases with CJ have progressively gotten better each time with this one being the best. Enjoying them all though! Fuck I love this band!
Lorna Shore are kind of doing something entirely of their own. They're melodic, but they're not Shadow Of Intent, they're bm-influenced but they're not Carnifex, they're slammy but they're no slammy deathcore band. And that's what will make this album an amazing one, I call it.
I was loosing hope in metal, but lately I’ve been finding hidden gems like these guys. I will continue to dig more. It gives me hope that not all hope is lost.
How the hell this could be a hidden gem if the guys are signed by Century... They even played at a Grammys with the new vocal or something like that. Great bad, but not hidden one at least in the scene.
Say what you what but musically this is finally fulfilling the potential that Black Metal have been promising and failing to deliver for the last 40 years. Finally a sound that matches the subject in how dark and harrowing it is. It took 3 generations of musicians and countless innovations (musical, instrumental, production values) but we're finally there.
@@zul_1991 Mad delayed response from me but was wondering if you can suggest some bands. I've been a hip hop head all my life, just gotten into the metal scene over a year ago. So far I'm into Infant Annihilator, Thy Art Is Murder, Septicflesh, Lorna Shore, and Brand Of Sacrifice lol
@@HamiltonnotlimaH If you like Lorna Shore, for sure you have to check out Shadow Of Intent from their first album to the latest 2019 album. Top tier symphonic deathcore band with a death metal sub-genre.
Yes I come back almost daily to listen to this masterpiece. Don't get me wrong, I love Lorna shore with will, he is one of the greatest but damn this album with CJ is a straight deathcore masterpiece 🤘☠️
@82pixels even if he’s successful after this (which is honestly doubtful), pretty sure they dropped him mostly out of a position that they personally didn’t wanna give him any more influence based off Austin’s tweets
The black metal elements are phenomenal, (I'm an avid black metal and raw black metal listener) and they resemble some true bm stylings at times, like the intro was amazing, gave me goosebumps. Shadow of Intent is great, but they have a diff bm influence and style that they compose with, it's more polished, LS has some true bm phrasing at times with riff writing and sections that I'm just like damn, holy shit. Also at the end there I felt some major Wintersun vibes which to even be referencing them to point out a similarity in a "deathcore" song is just a testament to how these guys are taking everything everyone knows and slamming it on their heads, all the while still sticking to their roots with the heavy deathcore style slams. In closing as a true black metal listener and a brutal death metal listener of the unpopular fashion, Lorna are a different breed and they're completely fucking going off right now, also their lead guitarist is about to blow up, fucking shredder it's insane that he's relatively unknown, his phrasing and timing with his solos and leads are brilliant. Also CJ is a monstrosity and was made for this.
I couldnt agree more. When i heard this is hell for the first time i could hear the black metal influence. Death portrait as well has heavy black metal vibes to it.
@@Kentirir Looked at your liked vids, I said I listen to "raw black metal", not the pussy shit you listen to. Borkfagnar lmfao. Lorna has clear bm influence. You're an entry level metalhead man, do your homework before you start passing judgement lol
His vocals are so good dude. Perfect fit for Lorna Shore. I keep replaying 5:38 onward, the instrumentation for that section specifically is so good especially the double bass with those symphonic elements.
Usually, I hate music videos, don't even watch them because they take away from the music. But this, this adds to the amazingness of the song and makes me love it even more. Beautifully done, awesome performance, showmanship and concept. Not to mention the legitimate important lesson of what people are willing to do when in a mindset of fear - definitely something to remember here in 2022
Can't stop listening to this all day, worst part is - I can't find anything even close to this in quality. So sad that CJ had to leave, this band would've went above and beyond.
