The nice thing about Los Angeles is that there is this very distinct mix of WWII and Cold War sirens. The 'birdhouse' looking sirens were all put in during WWII. The SD-10s and 500s were installed in Cold War era (50s to 80s) Glad you're enjoying the videos!
Congrats on 1K! and Here is an idea: You should visit the Mobil Directo's in LA County. 1. Culver Blvd and Overland Ave (on Veterans Memorial Building) this is a gas powered one. 2. Warner Drive Parking Lot (Electric-powered one). and there was one at Sawtelle Rd, but it is gone. Love your siren vids!
Wow! 100th Siren! Congratulations on 1000th Subscribers! I just got an AR Timer yesterday! From West Shore Services! In Allendale, Michigan. You should check out WSS sometime there's lots of grounded sirens!
I tried checking out West Shore Siren Services website but it seems to be offline... but as far as sirens in Michigan, I'm hoping to do a road trip in the next 2 years to check out sirens all over the U.S.!
@@DayTrippingAdventurer You have to call them and say you want a Tour. It worked for me! Check out the Whole Ginna System in Willamson, NY! There's like 96 sirens there! I might save up to get a Thunderbolt from WSS! With the Blower. Also, there's a rare Gas-Powered Blower there in their warehouse!
Congrats on getting 1,000 subscribers! I recently also reached 1,000 subscribers which I didn’t think was possible until it happened. It’s still really interesting to me the placement of that siren, just in the middle of a golfing field. Some sirens do carry their sound decently far but the placement of this one is certainly interesting.
The 1000 sub thing sort of happened over night. I think RU-vid promoted my Wilshire Walk video, so I need to keep making that sort of content as well as the Sirens. As for the Siren placement, I'm sure there's a method to their madness, but you, a golf course where all the wealthy and famous play, well, you're going to want to make sure they're aware of imminent death.... right?
@@DayTrippingAdventurer Yeah, same here, it would be smart to alert people on a golf course but I'm sure there wouldn't be any shelters nearby to bunker in 😂
Congrats on 100 sirens! Thats a big amount especially for the size of Los Angeles systems. I have gotten a Los Angeles SD-10 #35, which was at the corner of Normanide Pl and Beverly Blvd. I have videos of it on my channel!
If you have photos of sirens around L.A. that you would allow me to put up on my website (providing photo credits of course!), I would be delighted to do so! The more snapshots in time of sirens before they are gone, the better. Thanks in advance!
Great timing, the 100th siren and the 1000th subscriber coming roughly at the same time ! Congratulations ! Also yes it does seem to be a peaceful siren location, with just the golf course around it and nothing else
