The breda p2550 stilll has the spirit of the goldline. Is the only light rail vehicle that still say this is: Azusa downtown station. All the p3010s all say now arriving Azusa downtown station. Just an example. 😊😊😊

Metro has done a really good job with their light rail system. DART should take notes…

Indeed! LA Metro is doing fantastic job in growing/enhancing their rail lines. Did you know the current DART President & CEO (Nadine Lee) was former LA Metro Chief of Staff. Hopefully her experiences in LA will enhance DART.

Looking at the stations and effectiveness of the where they are placed . I am aware you took the DART train. Although I take it whenever 75 is crowded. I wish more stations in Dart were placed in high volume places. Trinity Mills, College, North College, University of Dallas, LBJ Skillman and many are placed in giant parking spots, then the company complains about ridership. To be honest, Downtown Rowlett , Downtown Carrollton & many TRE stations have nothing but a dangerous hwy running in between the stations. I appreciate the LA stations placed in downtown areas with little streets, next to strip malls, restaurants, shops like Fillmore station, Del Mar, all stations in expo & blue line. All stations in San Diego are like that too. I wish TX train planners can build in the surrounding stations.

it's funny too, you can find plenty of transit youtube video essay's complaining about LA Metro light rail station land use by north americans who live on the east coast or europe.

@@BirbarianHomeGuard It’s better coming out to giant parking lots and remote from retail shops that are about a mile away. Then, there’s Houston & Phoenix’s lrt. It’s slow, it might as well be a BRT. Overall, I don’t agree on American using their LRT like commuter, subways, street cars and a tram all at once. LA train should had just stopped at Sierra Madre. The rest should have been a commuter rail, an electric, not diesel.

@@jeSuisbarThere is a commuter rail option, too. It covers some similar areas, but stations are much further apart. It's called Metrolink. It's a different transit agency from LA Metro. Metrolink serves multiple counties. LA Metro only serves LA County. Both of these transit agencies serve different constituencies.

When LA Metro has stations carrying the same name, whether if the stations are on the same line, or on separate lines with the same exact name. For example, Grand/LATTC and Grand Avenue Arts/Bunker Hill stations are stations carrying the name "Grand", both on the A Line (Blue). Another example, LA Metro has two stations named Slauson, one on the A Line, and another one on the J Line (Silver). Another example, Civic Center/Grand Park on the B (Red) and D (Purple) lines and East LA Civic Center on the E Line (Expo/Gold). Both stations carry the name "Civic Center", but serve two separate lines. And another example, Vermont/Santa Monica on the B Line and Downtown Santa Monica on the E Line. Both stations carry the "Santa Monica" name. However, one is named after Santa Monica Boulevard on the B Line, and the other one is named after the city of Santa Monica on the E Line. Also another example, Crenshaw on the C Line (Green) and Expo/Crenshaw on the E and K Lines. Both stations are located within Crenshaw Boulevard, served by separate lines. Do you know that Vermont Avenue has the most LA Metro Rail stations, served by the C, E, D, and B Lines. On the C Line is Vermont/Athens station. On the E Line is Expo/Vermont station. On the D Line is Wilshire/Vermont station. On the B Line is Wilshire/Vermont, Vermont/Beverly, Vermont/Santa Monica, and Vermont/Sunset stations.

@@alexanderbanos8125 I grew up here in LA my whole life. I already know this. It's just funny how they only changed some names to represent neighborhoods but leave the rest after streets. Used to be entirely street based. The Gold Line was the first to have stations named after neighborhoods. What I'm pointing out is stations like Pico and Grand/LATTC should be renamed and uniformed. Pico → Convention Center/South Park or South Park/Convention Center Grand/LATTC → LATTC/Grand Ave or Grand Ave/LATTC... alt. South Park/LATTC or LATTC/South Park PCH (J Line) →Wilmington/Harbor City etc

Are the LA Metro light rail vehicles on a weird narrow gauge? I can't tell if they just look tall and skinny because they're more like low-floor trams or if they're actually on a smaller gauge
