P-22 has survived despite nearly dying from consuming rat poison, as well as the countless dangers of living in the middle of Los Angeles, a territory that is too small for any mountain lion to thrive, yet he continues to defy all the odds. Brace yourself for the eventual news of a mountain lion attacking a child. Their habitat in LA is shrinking. They need to be relocated for our sake and ours.
Apparently they are going to put him down because he’s attacking neighborhood dogs. Honestly I don’t understand why they don’t relocate him so that he’s not a threat
There’s nothing wrong with walking them at night lol. There’s millions of people & pets. One cougar. He didn’t survive this long because he just attacks people & pets together. You’re more likely to get hit by lightning, & killed by a human. Just be a good responsible citizen & choose to be aware of yourself & your surroundings. Kinda good advice in any situation.

@@lipstickandmomlife4913 I saw he just attacked a dog, guy got him off, dog is ok. Yes you certainly need to BE AWARE… & I wouldn’t necessarily leave pets out at night ALONE. But again- while we heard of this story, we didn’t hear about dozens of muggings. Life has risks. It’s still one cougar to millions of people & pets. I used to live right there. Humans used to live & mostly survive with sabertooths & a thousand other wild beasts that wanted to eat us running around lol. Life has risks. Rather than having outsized fear 24/7 for the tiniest possibility- consciousness & awareness is 1000x more effective in protecting you, without having to live in fear.

Years ago in Tucson AZ I went out to look at a meteor shower - Alpha Centaurids - and went to the very end of our neighborhood. It was Feb, and quite cold. As I walked toward the pool enclosure, I saw what I thought to be a Great Dane dipping its paw into the nice warm hot tub. NO dogs allowed - l looked for the owner. With just the fence between us, me not paying attention to the animal, _IT_ did a double-take at _ME,_ jumped 20 feet across the tub to the ground, and jumped another 20 feet, and OVER the six-foot fence. That was NOT a dog. So I ran to where the street ended and the desert started and it was one of the biggest mountain lions I've ever seen. And he ran from me! Went back in daylight and got his foot prints in plaster. Huge! Beautiful.
He's plenty feed! No competition of other cougars for him as he has been blocked off by freeways. He is getting older so resulting in attacking small pets won't be a surprise
Viva, P22. So glad you didn't hit him with your car. That's how most wildlife in this area dies. He's pretty much stuck where he is because of all the freeways. They are raising funds to build wildlife pass throughs so the big cats can get more genetic diversity by other cats being able to get across the freeways. That's a beautiful mural. P-22 is going to be fondly remembered in America. Since a creatures spirit never dies but lives forever P- 22 will be loved. He will be loved by Americans of all races. Politically he will be loved by people of all political persuasions. He will be loved on the far left, the far right , the political center & everywhere in between.
So I've been hearing about this P22 cat for years now and just by looking at P22 it look like a nice size animal now that the average human wouldn't stand a chance with if attacked by it if a weapon is not involved.
Let wildlife be wildlife if you have problem with wildlife then move to the inner city, your living a few miles from the forest your going to see wildlife 🙄

If you want to save LA cougars, relocate them to a more suitable habitat for their sake and ours. P22!already attacked a dog while he was being taken out for a walk in the Hollywood Hills. A 5 yr old was attacked by a mountain lion in Calabasas, a 7 year old in Stevenson Ranch, a pet was attacked in Simi Valley. All this year! Wake up LA.
They are better than most of a certain minority males roaming around LA with long Criminal Histories! I rather keep the mountain lion and rid of the criminals with long rap sheets that are worse than animals!
