I just realised the samurai is played by Mr Miyagi from the karate kid and the music is done by Michael Giacchino who also the music for the Incredibles, up and the MCU Spider-Man trilogy

Well, Barry Jackson (a former employee for DW, and who also worked on the Shrek test) worked on this as well

The group who did the Shrek test did this on our own to prove how good we were. This short film led to many career opportunities.

Not a chance. They passed on developing Los Gringos. After the failure of Paramount’s Rango , there is little chance for Los Gringos.
