I LOVE MINE doesnt break my bank when I think any slightest thing is wrong rather easy car to work on too everything is there and alot of space I want it in prestine condition planning on scrapping the silver and painting it a nice gloss black. After I get quarter panel rust repair done
Thanks for the tutorial! I couldn't help but notice the scratches on your clear gauge cluster cover; it looked like mine when I first got my car. I had nothing to lose so I tried some scratch doctor on it and it worked a treat! Now my gauge cluster is the shiniest, newest looking part on my miata.
Yeah I thought about it, I wanted to make sure I could finish filming before it got too dark. It's easy enough to remove later though! PlastX is another good product for that.
TheCarPassionChannel I'm thinking about doing some completely custom ones with him, I'm super picky about fonts and consistency with other parts of my car since I'm a web designer, haha. At the very least, I am gonna do a red LED swap for the stock gauges for now
WOW I have a ton of these LED's laying around from previous cars and usually most cars have tiny bulbs in the cluster and now I know I can swap those dim green bulbs out for some super bright white LED's! Thanks Grego
I'd got the JNC gauges for my nb and i love them! Previous owner put some paper gauges and everything was in german, but its sure easy to understand what öldrück and wasser means.
@@TheCarPassionChannel so do you lose the ability for specifically hi beams and air bags? It looks like those channels are to specify those particular sections.
@@Valdarious it's not high beam indicator, it's the headlight opening/closing indicator. And that's correct You will have to eliminate the airbag light somehow
I got a custom set made by Adam last year, and with a stainless dial surround and some LED warning lights, it looks awesome...! I have mine lighting up blood red too... Recommended..... And..."filmed in mexico..."......hahaha....
Man, I should have watched this video before I installed my revlimiter gauges. I learned a lot by trial and error that I really should have read up on first. Live and learn I guess 🤷🏼♂️
Any chance you could get a bit of video of the gauges with the lights on I'd like to see what the LED upgrade would look like. Looking at getting the Ferrari yellow gauges for my British green 99 :D Almost ready to install the AEM EMS4 and will be looking at a GT2560 setup for mine once I get it on the road (all because of the encouragement of your videos :D )
They look awesome. Been tempted to get these for my mk2 but there's so much choice and the option to go custom, i cant make my mind up. Can you do a short video to show them lit up at night please?
I actually just bought the Doge gauges for my NB. he said it's the first NB set he has done. I'm in San Diego so let me know if you want to check it out haha
As always great video and information. Question about the speedometer... How does the speedo calibrate for 160mph VS the factory 140? Are the gauges just a continuation of the same increments?
Haha thanks! I had fun making it. I've heard both "Dogue" and "Douj" pronunciation.... I did my best meme research and used the most common one, haha. I believe that's how it was pronounced in the cartoon it originated from.
Thanks for the tutorial, Greg! One question though, I know it's a bit late, but do you remember where you got your quick release hub (or which one it is?) I just got my Momo put on but I'm considering getting a quick release on there as well.
be very careful with those gauge hood clips. pull very evenly and very carefully or they WILL break. just a heads up to everyone. especially those with 1.6 dashboards
this is probably a dumb question (or was addressed in the video) but are all the gauges on that website only for the Miata? I'm buying a 95-99 eclipse GSX pretty soon here and I think some new gauge faces would be a really nice touch!
Just take your time, and also use the Revlimiter guide which really helps outline the steps. It's not scary once you get in there, the biggest thing is just being very careful with the fragile parts inside the cluster.
All of your videos and mods are amazing! I am a rather tall guy about 6 foot 4. I drive an NB and I am thinking about getting different seats and steering wheel, do you (or anyone else) know what the best seats are to give me more head room, and to give me a better steering wheel position? This summer has been a warm one (here in New Mexico) and just about every day my steering wheel singes my right leg. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!
It's best if you can live with a fixed bucket seat since they can get nasty low, especially without sliders. Like the car will feel huge to you in comparison with a stock seat. But, whichever lower profile seat you go with, you can test fit it, then see how much you want to move your wheel by. I wouldn't buy both at once, since the seat alone will change your body position in relation to the wheel.
@@DILLYBAR31869 Depends on your waist size, but I'm currently running a Bride replica, probably the cheapest halfway decent seat you can get but cheap materials. Sparco Sprint are a great and inexpensive name brand option, I'm personally thinking of a CarMakeCorns seat which is built around the Miata platform. And a set of Garage Star seat mounts!
Hey I just had a question. I just got a Miata and it's need a new alternator, from what I can tell there really easy but was wondering if you had any tips or tricks. It's a 2000 nb Miata thanks!!
When the sensor hits the lowest point, you still have 1-1.5 gallons left in the tank. The Miata (NA6 at least) has no fuel light, so the fuel needle pegging "E" is really the 'gas light.' But, you can set them to your preferences, that's the beauty of it!
***** Once upon a time I had Premiere and then I went on a canyon run with my laptop in the car, it flew, it died, and here we are. Working on it though!
Can anyone tell my why my 1992 miata bogs down to 400 rpm when i turn the AC on and if i drive with the ac on while in high speeds it almost overheats?
It really is the perfect 2nd vehicle for most of us I've owned Porsche and BMW. Great for club racing. If married, wife will like driving the miata too. happy wife, happy life.
Way to much work with resetting in my opinion... I been wanting to order a set but this just made me decide against it. I thought it was everything it is... except for resetting... I figured everything just went back the way it came off and done. The resetting kinda seems like a pain. In other words...I figured it would be like a steering wheel... where you take it off straight and put it on straight. Take the needle off at 0... put it on at 0...idk...
quick question my speedo is off by 5mph exactly is there a way I can adjust it back I think its because the car had 16's and now it has 14's but im not sure.
The wheel diameter doesn't affect the speedometer accuracy, but the tire diameter will. If it's 5mph off at all speeds, you might want to try re-adjusting the needle. If it's a certain % off, you might be able to compensate with a different speed sensor (I ruin a 4.1 speed sensor with a 3.9 diff and the speedo is 100% accurate).
+TheCarPassionChannel Thanks for the quick reply I am certain its 5mph off on the dot (driving by highway patrol signs at various speeds) Ill give the needle adjustment a shot.
Correct. I no longer have airbags so I don't really need it. There is a reversing process so you could temporarily swap in a stock tach for an inspection.
TheCarPassionChannel Good idea, if a cop pulled you over could he write a ticket for not having proper warning if he noticed? Have you ever been pulled over and given grief for having a aftermarket wheel (no airbag)?
***** No, pretty much the only things to worry about here are loud exhaust tickets, no front plate, and the big one would be a ref ticket for engine modifications.
Yeah I've heard from a couple different people that they get 'extra' things in there, that's why I wanted to show the unboxing. It wasn't an extra special case or anything, even says on his site!
itzmezach It depends on the turbos. If the turbine inlet flange, outlet flange, compressor inlet, and compressor outlet are all the same, you don't have to change anything. (Might have to clock the CHRA)
Wayne'sWork Just trying to follow your logic. How much you paid for your car has zero correlation to how much a product for it is worth. Nobody's forcing you to buy them anyways...
It was playing in both ears when I was editing, I honestly have no idea. New mic setup, plus the wondrful Windows Movie Maker making me look like an ass again.
