I had to wheelie into the jump and get the perfect timing for mine to backflip but I did get 3-4 of them on purpose! It don’t look real “scale” but it’s a backflip lol. I used a small kicker and hit the throttle for a wheelie just before it hits the ramp. Flips fairly easy.
@@ExocagedRC yeah it would be cool if there was a way to bypass the gyro for an instant just for tricks. I even tried flipping my flywheel off just before hitting the ramp etc. Nothing really worked well lol. Can’t wait to see what upgrades you do to this one!
You only physically steer a motorcycle in your intended direction at very low speeds. Once you're above 10mph you quickly transition to actually pushing the bars slightly left to go right, and right to go left. Steering becomes a combination of lean angle and your tire's contact patch. It's all called "counter-steer" and it's amazing how Losi got the gyro-electronics to work so well.
Since stock transmitter is only 3ch. There's some internal channel mixing for the front brake.. Try binding to your dx5c with firmware update and then put rear brake on separate channel
To run with the gyro off the wheels need to be much heavier. I used to race 1/5 superbikes with no electronic or gyro assistance they work exactly as a full size bike does. When you get the supermoto tyres try it on a smooth surface with the gyro of again you will need to push start and keep it moving at a reasonable speed .
Turn gyro off as you approach the ramp. 2fm had it almost. Probly the gyro up grade kit might be the key. Love how you're trying it so I don't have to waste mine😂🎉🎉🎉
I have an older model RC bike which I'm able to unplug the gyro's black/red cable (male JST plug) and plug it into any channel on the receiver to power it up. Maybe you can find a way to power up the gyro on a independent mini 2s lipo or plug it into your receiver like it did. I think its pretty fast on a 2s 👍. Time to upgrade mines. 😂
What if they made something the looks like a “snowboard” to replace the stability “balls” ?? That way on the soft surfaces it wouldn’t dig in ?? That way you could race it on the loose stuff
That wasn’t a backflip. It was a looped out wheelie-tap off the lip of his totally deformed ramp. Total luck. He couldn’t repeat it if he HAD to. Not giving it to him.
Excellent, when I saw your last review I was hoping for it to go to the ExoPlex. When you had it wide open and it was ripping down the dirt road it was awesome. Interesting take on it you had, I had not thought about flips and such. My jaw was still on the floor that we now have this is it's bad@$$. Humm, yeah I can see with the gyro how is would make some of the tricks a bit tough. I just want the v2 to have a moving rider with tiny servo's lol so when your lighting it up he will stand and such. I know I know, be thankful for what you got haha but hey. They did this, they can do that too!
Maybe you might be able to switch out that gyro for a 3S capable one? I have an X-rider bike. And, it is 3S capable. The gyro in it is rated for 3S. Maybe that's an option for running 3S?
They are tuff, just upgrade that front frame part and give it heaps. I also snapped the thread off the shock But considering the pounding it took repeatedly The bike's definitely worth buying. I even built a adjustable take off ramp and landing Mount a small camera and you can enjoy viewing playback 👍
You could try it with a different radio/reciever without the gyro, see how it rides & it will 100% for sure be able to get that backflip. Just for testing purposes 😆
@ExocagedRC Yeah I'm saying a different radio without the gyro, just to see if it's possible to drive it without all the technical limitations. The flywheel would still run as normal programmed to another channel on the test radio. Can always go back to the stock radio afterwards. I use to drive my Nitro Ducati RC street bike before gyros even existed, and it didn't even have a flywheel lol
Can you level correct in air so you don’t land hard on the front if you come off the ramp front heavy? Like throttle hard mid air to bring up the front like you do with bashers
If you could control front and rear brakes independently you could do stoppies and rear drift entering corners, maybe! That thing is cool, shame it is so expensive...
I think the wiggle it does after it hits the ground and bounces means the gyro is set too strong. Same if it’s wiggling around in turns or on rocky terrain… almost like how maxing out TSM/AVC throws you off when you go too fast or try to jump it
Maybe for the backflip attempts on those larger ramps put some carpet on there for traction to let the back tire bite and try doing it with the gyro effect turned up and down?
I definitely do understand the bikes doing it’s best to fight against a backflip tho lol. Driving it with the gyro disabled probably won’t get too far.
I would imagine that the massive amount of RIDER INPUT involved in backflipping a real motorcycle would eliminate the possibility of doing that trick with an R/C bike, even one as awesome as this. Great video!! Thanks.
@@TheAmericanUhate nah. We’ve all seen what happens when the rider doesn’t make the right body moves and thinks going wide open can save him. Lol. He falls on his head. While applying brakes has a very large effect on bike attitude in mid-air, whacking the throttle has a very minimal effect by comparison. Not none, just not enough to rotate the full mass of the motorcycle (which is carrying two gyros) over the top and back to some kind of reasonable angle for landing.
@videditorEB1 You're talking about a panic rev when the jump has already went wrong and it's too late to do anything to save it. The throttle for a backflip starts on the take off and gets the rotation started and stays going in air. Travis Pastrana has done tons of sitting backflips with no body movement based 100% on throttle. Even off tiny little jumps
@@TheAmericanUhate sitting on the seat is not remotely the same as “no body input”. You figure his head and upper body are just static on takeoff?? Uh..no.
@videditorEB1 It can be done rather you think so or not. There is literally no body movement needed with the correct amount of power & rotation on take off. The gyro cutting power is the only thing stopping it.
I can't for the life of me understand why they couldn't have a gyro off mode and this is what 8 figured would happen. People would want to start doing fun jumps and sadly can't so it will get boring quick
hate to say it but it looks like it will get boring after a little while that you dont realy have that much control of the bike it seems like the flywheel drives it for you
Should save your money and buy a toy dog that barks then flips over when you wind it up. I hope the bikes will be raced.. because that's what they are.. but NO 'reviews' are doing that.
