Yeah just don't 3 barrel with ace king high and don't jedi mind trick yourself into folding big hands just because 1 or 2 possible hands beat you. now if there are 8-10 hands that can beat you then you fold but ya know.
In that spot your only looking for about 4 hands str8 flush regular flush a str8 or full house. I understand the fold but it’s Texas lol keep up the great work we need more of us in this RU-vid space
AQ hand where you had two pair is a check on the turn imo. I thought this before you even bet. Your opponent is more than likely going to check Ax on the turn, so if they bet, you keep the size of the pot down as he could have AK and J10 type hands and you could call and evaluate river. You are right, it’s a really bad turn card.
Glad to see you at The Lodge. Out of all the places you play, how would you rate it? Since Texas is anti gambling, and we have memberships and hourly chair fee, is it better than rakes at casinos?
Thanks! Hmmmm I am not sure since I do not know if higher games have a more expensive hourly chair fee. I know usually that rake at a 5/10 game is only $7 so i believe the rake at a 5/10 game would be slightly better If at higher games rake does not increase though, then it should be fine in comparison to the BB amount
You just said how hard it is to make a flush but then fold. As much as you Aunt Jammama with bluffs i dont see how you dont get it in with a made hand. But big props to you for even putting that hand on the vlog....most ppl would have left it out. You a real one...im this close 👌 to subscribing
@@BrandonSligh I was referring to the 10 4 hand. Sorry for the confusion. Yes, I like the fold with AQ when you folded turn. I just got up. I haven't been sleeping well and just slept like crazy. 😴
@@BrandonSligh Does he fold a jack if you do? Does he fold a lot of hands that are ahead of you? Does he only call top pair+ ? Which you still have good equity against?
I think trying to get them to fold a jack feels easier when we already know there hand, of course they fold a jack. Overall though, I think its unnecessary even if they have other hands
Lol nothing wrong with this though. And believe it or not there are times to donk, so maybe when you did it was the best play. Poker is fun but sometimes complex 🙂
@@BrandonSlighI think cause of your image he thought top pair was the nuts and wanted to protect it at all costs from you chasing a flush. Recs also will overplay marginal hands like this if they think they’re ahead or you’re full of it.
@@Ver5587 yea i more so meant right with the thoughts of some players if that makes sense appreciate the kind words! hey u did get it through lol so still nh. i am more than happy to have lost this spot at a 1/3 table than at a more higher stake game any day 😃
@clarkgriswold5818 thx man appreciate all the kind words here! Yea the emotion in videos change based on the hand and other factors, the KT one I went off lol.... I have my go off moments sometimes I cannot lie. There was no reason to go off here since I mean I got owned right? Lol But yea thats just me being me, which I once again am glad you have been watching and enjoying the content! I go to the lodge a couple times a year so you will see me again As long as I'm myself in the videos just as I am at the tables, I'm happy
Yea the QQ was a bit of a nit roll but it’s not that egregious, I’ve seen far worse. Clearly he’s kind of a fish with his double flat pre, so I wouldn’t be that bothered by it. Like the bluff, just unfortunate you ran into top of range
Wow you played really bad this session. You dumped off a lot of money with AK high and you made really nitty folds with AQ two pair and flopped 9 high flush. You got to at least see a river with AQ there and you can't fold with a 9 high flush unless a second player also jammed for a lot before you after the first guy. I didn't think he had as weak of a hand as A2 one pair but someone jamming there is going to have AK with King of hearts/two pair/ or a set or even rarely a smaller flush than having you beat. I think the chance he has a 10-K higher flush is about 1 in 500 there odds wise and it makes very little sense strategy wise.
when you break down the odds of it happening makes the fold even worse lol but yea i agree with you the AQ hand i like the fold, trust me i was beat. this fold was not nitty BUT the flush one was
@@BrandonSligh With the AQ hand the King hitting on the turn is definitely a scare card but the chances of him having j10 for gutshot(4 outsx2=8 percent) is 1 in 10 and him pairing King for AK(3outsx2=6 percent) is 1 in 17. Unless this was Old Man Coffee I think you got to at least see a river. Small chance of boating for small price and you can always fold if they go huge and you don't improve.
@@Jolly-Green-Steve trust me if i boated up, i have a high % chance of being destroyed. The hand looks pretty but you have to know when to fold and this was the spot to I folded this way easier than the flush spot
I don’t mind the 9s 7s fold, he played a maniac line, and he’s random, you could have easily been beat there… I don’t think it’s a blind call… What are the bluffs there A off Ks… KKs with the K of spades?…
@@BrandonSligh I think everyone is shocked cause you play a bigger game, so the fold is odd, keep grinding bro, I’m playing on the Lodge Live Stream early Jam, any tips?…
@@JasonNelson-bx1qo didnt you post this like 2 hrs ago and i replied? I was just at the gym and replied about you playing on the live stream.... so just wanted to check im not bugging yep people are a bit shocked but happens. As for the stream, just play your own game, do not try to play a game different just because you are in Texas. Poker is poker and you should be alright. Let me know which day the stream is!
Damn i used to think you were a solid player till i watched this video. Holy crap man folding the aq was bad then you fold the flopped flush...if your cant afford to play poker dont play poker
Wow folding a flush with the 9 7 is not a good play if they have you beat they have you beat. I’ve seen you call more with less. Love the video keep it going
Yea rough fold, I agree with if they have me beat they have me beat Hmmmm not to this size, I don't think I have ever been in a spot where someone 3bet jammed flop 7x in a SRP to my x/r in live or online poker Glad you are enjoying the videos!
I think I like being an amateur... taking a "wrong" line to get to where o need to be... 🤔 Because you pros are tooooo f/n smart when it comes to knowing what we "should" have? *karate is at it's best only when your opponent is using it as well... Queens and that mind game "you preping for a river all-in" I'm just sayin.🤷
Well wrong lines don't confuse everyone, and by them having queens did I jam? Yea sure I did but it just happened to work out for them in this one scenario. Have this spot happen a bunch of times and it plays out very different
