Losing eBay Reseller Subscribers Over These Two Issues 

For those you you who watched the end of this video and my comments about shopcommons.net please be aware that we are in the early stages. There were only 17 listings and more than half sold very quickly. So if you are coming to buy it is a little sparse. We are slowly adding items and sellers. Be patient as we educate some of the sellers and try to refine this. Also thank you for the overwhelming support of this idea. I am shocked by how this has gone on day one even before it is live on the district platform. Your feedback is appreciated as we try to create something that can benefit all types of resellers.

Hi, as a person of native American descent me and my family don't really care about the names of sports teams or anything like that. I have found that the people that complain about it aren't even native American. They just complain to complain.

I think one of the reasons I love watching your videos is because you have a cool family that works with you to help you out. Anyone that leaves your channel because of that are ... that's their loss .. not yours. Also one thing you must have learned by now is that you can't please everyone. We live in a generation of people that you can't please no matter what too.

Some people get offended if you tell them to "Have a nice day". Those are the types of people to avoid in life.

I can’t believe people have enough time to nitpick you like they do. That’s the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard. Glad you keep putting out quality honest videos in spite of them. I’ve been selling a little over a year and have learned so much. Thank you.

Since the birth of social media I believe folks have hardened to being considerate of other folks and are very rude to the point of being ugly to others and unfortunately I believe it has expanded outside of social media where it had effected friendships

I think people are unsubscribing to your channel probably because their jealous to see you doing so well at reselling. So they unsubscribe to trigger a negative response from you.

It's an excellent way to learn. The Goodwills where I live are terrible. The ESTATE SALES here are the best. If you build a relationship with the owners, they sell to you better and teach you about things

Something in my deathpile that actually gained value, digital cameras. I always picked them up for years, but they weren't worth a ton. Well, now they're hot, so I went to my storage and found bins full of them. Man, they sold fast, for probably 50% more then they were worth years ago.

Kevin, the reason I started watching you is your fairness and common sense, which is sadly lacking in most people anymore. Just be you and don't worry about all the idiots out there.

I appreciated your 4th of July message Kevin - My ancestors fought and served for this country and I was always taught to be proud of my American identity. My ancestors also suffered from racism and injustice by people who claimed to be Americans as well. There will always be bad actors, we don't have to abandon the values and beliefs that America was built on, we have to hold on to them and represent them better than those who have failed to.

Never gonna make some people happy. They like being miserable

Our first mistake was telling everyone their feelings matter. In my day we were told to tough it out. Now we have a bunch of fragile adults looking for confrontations. My friend mentioned on Facebook she’s having her tribe come over for a swim party. Someone messaged her and said that that’s derogatory towards native Americans. Give me a break.

Bringing your children on the channel is a value-added for us. The humanity of it all.....

RU-vid also unsubscribes people without their knowledge. It has happened to me several times, even on your channel. I enjoy your videos and knowledge. Thanks for your honesty.

The biggest thing is that people have no common sense and don't think for themselves, they are emotional and easily triggered and want attention by their drama. You are a voice of reason and I enjoy all of your videos. I take what works for me and what doesn't I hope it helps others.

My wife and I have been watching your channel for almost a year and began our own reselling business in earnest a year and three months ago. We resell on Poshmark, EBay and Marketplace and have found that we have learned so much from your channel. Ignore the haters and negativity. We watch you, Hairy Tornado, Bearded Thrift Machine and have been entertained and educated. Keep up the good work and don’t change a things unless you personally see the need. You have inspired us and are quickly replacing my wife’s income after she was laid off after 17 years at the same company. Thanks for teaching us!

I love watching you. As a reseller I don't generally buy the same things you do, but there's always something to learn. I love your intro/out-tro music / country scenes, and your country style that I find relaxing. I used to live in the country so it's a little nostalgic for me. Don't ever change.

I sell bibles all the time. Alot of people collect vintage bibles in different transcription. The older they less they seem watered down. People pay good money for these kinds of books especially the unique colored leather ones

Hairy Tornado buys a lot of shoes I don't like selling shoes, Kayla The Homeschooling Picker buys a lot of purses I have no interest in purses but I enjoy watching both of them. I just don't understand people who want to only follow people that they 100% agree with.

I had a friend who increasingly suffered over the four years of the previous administration. Her TDS grew so bitter and hateful due to the daily spew of mainstream media's poison. It is bewildering to see, how much that hatred has so divided people. I'm sorry you've become a target for some of the heartfelt things that you've said. I am happy for you, that those hateful nonentities have unsubscribed.

It's painfully apparent that these folks that unsub because of all those utterly ridiculous reasons are not fully understanding how adulthood works. Although, hearing about all the whining and silliness is freakin' HILARIOUS!! 🤣

You have a passion for buying and reselling and you enjoy sharing your experiences with others. You are very transparent and people don’t like that. When you sell something to a viewer “fake sales”😂 and people get offended because of it, that sounds like pure jealousy to me. I am a fellow reseller and I respect your honesty and all I can say is keep doing what you love and don’t sweat the small stuff.

I wish I had someone I could source with! I watch you guys precisely because I don't. I love learning about what other sellers are doing, it really inspires me. As to the folks who insist that you should or shouldn't sell things that are currently considered offensive, just keep on ignoring them. These are the very same people who will holler at you for not supporting their causes. People don't realize that pretending history didn't happen, by "banning" it, only leads to the recurrence of what it is that they're telling you to hide. Off color salt and pepper shakers or videos with spicy titles are just a reflection of who we really are/were at a given time.

Our local thrift shop I love seeing other resellers and the challenge of finding things they missed. There’s plenty of junk in the world for us to pick next to each other. Also thank you for expressing your appreciation for the country we live in! It’s important that we continue to say that no matter what. I can’t understand the other side.

Just want to say my wife found your channel when I spun up a store about 1 month ago. Frankly I like your real talk way you roll. I've been telling my wife "profit is profit" and then you came along showing small sales saying "I'll take that sale" and laughed, said "Ya! What that guy said!" Haha. At any rate, we have had Ebay shut us down for the last week for "doing abnormally well". Kinda nuts. Hopefully we will be back up next week. 😊 keep doing what you do.

Yes!! I hear this so much about "sharing" the information with the competition! I personally feel if someone else is willing to put the time money and energy it takes to do this stuff then all the more power to them! There is so much stuff out here and so many places there is enough stuff for everyone!!

People who unsubscribe are probably doing you a favor. I get that it feels like a personal thing to you; however, I believe (if that matters) you bring honesty, humility, humor, and positivity to the reselling community. Those folks who unsubscribe may be looking for a different style in their content consumption. Please continue to be authentic and your following will continue to grow in my opinion.

kevin, I am so tired of idiots that know nothing about reselling. I had this great comment and I lost it before I got it posted. First of all entrepenuers need many streams of income. If I wanted youtube to be one of mine I would not hesitate. Kevin I think you do this to take care of your family. I took care of my family from a lifetime of retail. I don't give anyone power to take that away from my family. Green is Green. When you are in retail the only thing constant is change. I had to change constantly over the last 60 years. My hat is off to you. These people that unsub are not serious about retail. Everyone is an example of what t o to do and what not to do. I have learned so much on what to do from you. You got me on thermal printers. You also taught me what not to do... Watching you I never want to get involved in social media as a creator. You work way to hard at it. Any rewards you get you deserve. Let the haters do it and then they have a platform to complain. I watched your kids grow up. How cool is that? I bought product from them to help them learn. My children's retail experience was invaluable for them as adults. Those eniman clones were genius. If I would have though of them while you were selling the authentic eneman I may HAVE BETEEN YOU TO THE PUNCH (Caps were an accident). great IDEAS DON'T COME EVERYDAY. If you get one don't loose it or let it slip through the cracks. I don't skate and I don't wear body jewelry. But I had lucrative skate shop (my daughter got me into the skate shop, good money untill it was not).and sold more body jewelry than you can shake a stick at. Rock and roll has been very good to me. Used CD's in the brick and mortar were very lucrative untill thhey were not. Unlike you I have depended on wholesalers. But I have been buying at garage sales and thrift stores longer than I can remember. Got involved with the ebay in 96. My 3 brick and mortar stores (started 86) were closed in 2010 because ebay, Wallmart and amazon put me out of business. Did I quit? NO!!! I have had my own internet store since 96 separate from ebay. I have my hands in so many things. Kevin thanks. You have helped me allot. I appreciate your personality and good nature. I wanted to say something about politics and THOSE TYPES of opinions... They have no place in retail. I learned from the old retailers, from the 30's 40's 50's and 60's. Green is green. Green pays my children's education. Green buys them schools supplies, food and anything else they need. I will not explain to my children that they don't get their needs met because my political agendas cost me sales. I am the progressive from hell, an atheist and a bunch of other crap that offends people and is never brought to the bus... I exercise my right to sell or not to sell if i believe there my be violence or hate. If you don't share your hate I will sell to you just fine. My hat is off to you kevin. Time for all of us to understand how hard it is to create your own money. Take your feelings off your sleeves and make some green. Another thing about fees.... People need to stop complaining. It is a cost of doing business. My fees on the internet are so much lower than when I had my brick and mortar. Also, I have not been robbed over the internet. I am not talking about a scammer. I am talking about robber which is much different than shoplifting. I am now building a poshmark business for my daughter. there is going to be a good 5 year run before the corporations ruin poshmark. I was skeptical at first. Ebay is dieing. like everything corporation's and the government have started to ruined it for us. I will hold on until it does not work anymore. Anyway I only have 50 items listed on poshmark and I am selling a buttload. I have had a couple grand listed on ebay and 500 on mecari at one time. I could not get my buck bang from mecari. Gave it up unless I come across currency. Mecari, Great place to sell currency. I sell things I don't want to ship on marketplace sometimes. I have given up flea markets and heavy traveling to source. So I am telling your viewers, stop criticizing and figure out how to make it. Hell, you might not be cut out for this life. There is something to be said for steady income, 401 k's, medical insurance and the like that comes with employment. I would not wish this lifestyle on anybody. Us that stick it out can't imagine anything else.

Actually when I go out to yard sales, I always see the resellers out there as well. Some I see every time that I go out. I actually enjoy seeing what they would pick out. Even if it’s stuff I grabbed and put down to think about it as I’m looking around more. I learn from them. But yeah, it’s funny how people unsubscribe for the silliest reasons. There should be a thread for that for jokes. Im unsubscribing because the way you wear your hat! 😂. But seriously, love your channel! Learn so much from you.

Sometimes the viewpoints of others is a mystery to me. Presently I am failing to launch but I will be starting to resell. For more than a year I've been watching YT Flippers and it is the generosity of spirit within the community which drew me in and got me thinking that I too could resell. It seems to me supporting others only benefits you. What is the saying...A hide tide raises all ships...or something like that. For example I'm watching your channel because Liz from FlippinLizzie mentioned you on her channel. And as far as thrifting with others Karen of Lavender Clothesline just celebrated her first Wedding Anniversary with her husband Roger, a fellow reseller, whom she had met at Goodwill. I appreciate your advise, experience and perspective. And I enjoy seeing your family, especially the fur covered ones.

I will never understand why people who don't like something, for whatever reason, can't just scroll on by or leave in peace. I've always appreciated your channel, I feel like you spend an exuberant amount of energy trying to see things from multiple sides and express pros/cons of different ways of doing things. The number of casual ebay sellers who ship at the counter at the post office is incredible. Many of them have thousands of feedback.

My friend and I pick together every Saturday. We come home with a car load every time. We always say if we went alone we’d have to buy it all. 😂. This way we only take half of it home.

When you stop by a garage sale, thrift store & any other place to source and you find inventory that just tells me that not everyone buys & sells the same type of items. Personally I would love to have another reseller to hang out with to hit garage sales. I buy in bulk or get so much inventory given to me if my buddy or other reseller finds a BOLO I think it's great.

If those are the reasons people unsub from your channel then you probably don't need them anyway. Every time you talk about people getting upset about something you've said I can never figure out why. Life's way to short to let the little things get to you. And I love your wholesale idea! I'll be applying to sell there. I picked up a HUGE (Filled the back of my husbands explorer) lot of DVD Bluerays and VHS. And now it's been surrounding my desk. It's got to the point were I am a little overwhelmed with it. I would love to lot them up and sell them cheap. Thanks!!

I have learned that no matter what you are involved in and doing, there are negative people… it’s so sad to me… but… I appreciate SO MUCH how the reselling community supports each other! 26:51 MINUTES IN.... A small micros of how lives that are broken inside and choose to live in a shade of darkness can multiply and grow from a RU-vid channel to a national level. I remember a time when something I heard didn't sit well with me. I kept quiet and reviewed the "message" in my mind and heart and asked for discernment. What I found was the TRUTH and it didn't feel good - and I began to work on that area of my life. The only way individually to affect change is to choose to swim AGAINST the river of discontent. The reasons many of those people unsub are the reason I listen to you even though I'm not even a reseller!!! There are people who just want other people to be negative about the USA - that seems to be the theme of some people's lives. I love your channel, and I enjoy it when you go "picking" w/ other resellers or your family. I agree that when you go picking w /others, your eyes get opened to new things to resell, at least mine do! Also it's fun when those others pick up somethings that sells for a good amount.
