Losing My Best Friend 

First off, I wanted to offer my deepest condolences. Thank you so much for bearing your soul to us! You may never realize how much of an effect you have on the lives of us strangers...but I just wanna convey to you that it’s IMMENSE. I love that you share not only the good times, but the bad/hard/sad/rough/sensitive times because we ALL have those feelings. I think you are such a beautiful man...in every sense of the word. I wish there were more Christians out there like you, more compassionate people out there like you, more gay people like you, more people who are willing to share your body issues, etc. You really are going to make some man a really lucky guy. Trey sounds like a WONDERFUL person! He sounds a lot like my friend, Don, who has always been there for me. When I got into a doctoral program in Oakland, Don took a flight from Oakland to Honolulu to help me ship my boxes up...and then the next morning he flew back to Oakland. Yes, he flies for Delta so it’s cheap to fly/ship stuff, but that’s a 4 hour flight in each way and it was on his days off. Like you said, we don’t find people like that very often...so I’ve always felt that we need to cherish those people, and we need to tell the world about them. In Hawai’i, we have something that we call “the Aloha Spirit”, which is basically our life mantra here...and it’s about helping strangers, being kind to others, always looking out for more vulnerable people and having their back, etc...basically “the Golden Rule”. 😍🏳️‍🌈🤙🏽

My condolences for your loss. Personally my best friendships disintegrated over time, so it feels strange to know that if I ever meet new people, it doesn't mean it will last despite the best promises. You have to live the good moments as they come.

So sorry about your loss. I have been going through losses too. I lost one of my best friends in a car accident around the Christmas holiday. Also in May one of my best friends got in serious trouble. Been feeling depressed and alone. Time will heal. I am here for you. You are loved.

I'm so sorry that you have to deal with this. Grief is one of our most difficult emotions to go through, the loss and being left behind and having to cope without that support. A true friend, an advisor, a counsellor, a strength in your past. Good that you knew him so well. Not sure if the channel met him in any of the earlier vids. Such a generous and kind person lost to us. Sorry you had the health scare too, someone as young as you should not have to deal with that at this time.

I lost my best friend 7 years ago when this guy told everyone in town i was gay. I still miss him. I never found anyone else that could feel that emptiness.

What you've done with this video was, I hope, very therapeutic in dealing with your grief. I too have been shunned, made to feel invisible, and less then. You've experienced a love that God had for you. You'll always carry that pain, but it does lessen over the years. Sometimes it comes on hard for a day. Other times it comes on and stays for awhile. Very sad. It looks like you have other friends to help you through that time. At least you have had someone close or friends in general. Some of us don't have that luxury.

You are loved never let that light go out Trey is watching over you he loved you in his on way as you to him an no one can ever take that away from you he took your love with him.an that sun rises its him giving you hope an strength. So stay strong

It hurts to loose someone you care deeply about. He gave you the gift of time, which is more special than anything material. Tears for a loved one slowly wash out the pain -- there's no reason to rush it. If you believe in angels, then he'll be with you for many years. It's good that you are headed to Vidcon and not let this hold you back. Have patience with yourself -- the healing inside takes years.

I'm sorry that you were going through a rough time, but glad that you had someone like Trey to lean on. And how horrible that he is now gone, as you said, way too soon. Give yourself time. You said it's only been a week? Grief takes time. Get some help if needed. But allow yourself to...be. It is great to see a video from you again. Just wish it was under better circumstances. You are going through the grieving process and your reactions are very normal. Eventually, each day will be a better day. It takes me 3 years after the death before i can resume my life before the death. Your boss is an A-hole and you can fight against his harassment. In regards to your opening statement regarding the lump on your leg...the medical system for the most part is broken, but when I think of bad things when they happen to me, I know so many people are experiencing worse situations. I think of those kids at St. Jude's and my issue is miniscule compared to their's. My condolences about your friend Trey. Shit happens every day to everyone, but it will get easier as time moves forward.

I lost a longtime cousin of mine and at first it didn't hit me. Until that day at the funeral when we were saying goodbye I started crying. Now every so often at his accident site I still feel a bit sad because he's not here anymore.

I know this video was made two years ago, but it's such a sweet eulogy for what sounds like one of the nicest persons to grace God's earth. These are the moments that make you question life. The thing is that you get through it and with the help of others remember and cherish that friend ship. I lost a few dear friends to HIV. Friends like yours that where taken too early. The pain in the beginning is so hard to deal with, but now I have the wonderful memories and think of them so often. So in one way they're still alive. I'm sure your friend will be with you as you go through life, just the way mine have. A poem by Emily Dickinson (my version) help me through - This world is not conclusion another stands beyond as invisible as music as positive as sound. Thanks for a beautiful video.

I know that feeling I lost my best friend 18 yrs ago. He was in an accident with a semi and it killed him I was suppose to have been with him that day. He died 1 wk after my aunt died.

Damn, I am just in that situation now, and it really hurts. I am European and I had a long distance relationship with a Latino. I spent a lot of time in his country, but we eventually broke up. One day I discovered he found someone else, I was desperate. I tried to contact him but he never answered me back. I went to see him but he refused to talk to me (he lived with his new boyfriend). As I was staying for 3 weeks, I met people and made a friend. This guy was very nice to me and he took care of me so well. When I was leaving, he asked me out. As I suffered a lot before, I first said no. But he looked so sad that I finally accepted. And so began a new relationship. Unfortunately, he was not very honest about his life and we broke up. But we stayed friends for year, talking by Skype or Whatsapp, he was still there in my life. But recently, he decided suddenly to stop talking to me. He cut me from anything without any explanation. I tried to find a response but never got one. I think he got in couple or else, but knowing what I lived with my ex boyfriend, I am disgusted he would reproduced the same thing, knowing how hurt I would be.
