This extraordinary woman amazes me with her positive attitude and her courage. Many, many years ago I read two biographies about a little girl with (apparently) this same condition, Red Shoes for Nancy and Borrowed Angel. They both affected me deeply. I hope someday research can do more to help those affected by this cruel disease.
What a strong lady 💪 amazing stuff. It just goes to show how important positivity is in the face of difficulty. Best of luck, Mandy if you’re reading this. You’ve absolutely got this.
I long for an update to this story. I know they found a tablet to stop her legs growing, but I wonder how she is coping now. I wonder; if they were to remove both legs at the torso would she do better with prosthetic legs having got rid of all that weight? Even though she has an enormous amount of resilience I hate seeing how much she has to struggle for her independence. This lady deserves an easier life.
If you remove both legs right at the torso the person can't sit independently anymore (and you'd need a bit of stump to attach a prosthetic to), so I think that would be a kind of last resort measure. In that film where they found medication for her it seemed like her legs were shrinking, so I'm kind of hoping they just went down to a manageable size.
She is so strong, so special. I am sorry this lovely young woman has had to overcome such challenges. She is truly a role model for perseverance and courage. Blessings upon you, Mandy
I've been following Mandy's story for a long time and seeing this update truly brought joy to my heart! I love her positive and outgoing attitude! I can tell that her best friend genuinely cares for her. I actually wouldn't be surprised if those two fell in love. I will continue to cheer her on from the sidelines. She is an inspiration to many :)
Mandy is an extraordinary young woman. I am so in awe of her determination and perseverance. Her positive “can do” attitude will take her far. I have to admit, seeing her walk brought me to tears. God bless you Mandy.❤️
I watched a previous episode. She s really amazing and so brave. The family and the team around her look very supportive. I wish her the best and hope have an other episode of her, keep in my prayers 🙏🏻
This young woman has thee best attitude about whatever she has to go through. What an amazing person. Mandy...you are thee best ❤ I wish you all the best. God bless you.
I was impressed when I saw your story some years ago. It is unfortunate you had to have an amputation but you seem to be adjusting very well. I want to let you know what an inspiration you are to so many. It matters not what we must deal with, you show us no obstacles can't be overcome. Your attitude and spirit about life spoke to my soul with just what I needed to hear. Thank you. I wish you well in the years to come and hope you get every happiness you wish for.
MANDY and JORDON, I have such admiration and respect for both of you and your endeavors to maintain "normal lives" regardless of what your body's are doing to each of you at any given time. Medical technology is growing at an astounding rate and a cure could be just around the corner. Dear ones, never give up hoping and praying. May God bless both of you beautiful people and give each of you your hearts desire.
Wow, god bless Mandy and her family and friends. I’ve been seeing her in programs on tv throughout my life, and I think of her fighting spirit and radiant positivity often. I hope with all my heart she is able to do everything she ever wants and more! She definitely deserves all the best
In the last video I watched the Doctor gave her some medication that was helping to shrink her legs and it was working. I wonder why there wasn't any mention of it?
Amazing, I will pray for you Mandy and any time I don’t feel like doing something, I will think of you. You are so inspirational. Keep up the good fight .
I’ve been following this woman for years and will absolutely never not be in awe of her incredible attitude and positive mindset. What an inspiration!!!
I so much admire this young woman. Praying for God to give her the strength to carry on with her life. I have followed Mandy for a few years now. She is my example on getting on with life regardless of life throws at you.
This sweet girl deserves the best that modern medicine can provide her. She's been a warrior since birth, fighting every moment for her life and independence. Your spirit is brilliant Mandy!!
I’m calling out to her to reverse through the doorway….always had to reverse F I L through doors as his wonky leg always got in the way ……..only half way through video so far thinking she needs a much bigger home ….this remarkable woman is much stronger than me, I honestly couldn’t have kept going ….
She went to America for an amputation and spoke to the number 1 amputee Sargent in the world and he said he wouldn’t want to do it as the risk of death was way too high… The NHS: Hold my beer Wankee Yankee!
God bless her. I can’t help but wonder if she had both legs amputated she could be free from all that weight. And hopefully the doctors can give her some type of legs. I’m praying
Why on earth would they leave such a hug stump ,why didnt they remove more ,lm so sorry for her, but are they using her to experiment on,it kind of feels that way, shes deserves a lot more then that..Myself l would have had them both removed from the upper thigh. Shes such a beautiful positive person ,l feel so bad for her and the weight of what she has to carry, l don't understand why they couldn't have made it easier for her to manage her day to day life. Bless her she deserves better medical intervention.
"That cost the NHS £2000." What exactly is your point? Such an insidious way to suggest that Mandy is using up huge amounts of NHS resources. Shame on you!
