I may have only written a comment on a RU-vid video once or twice in my life- but I needed to write on this one!! I have been noticing you melt away on the screen and wondering when you would share with us! Dear Nickoleen, I have been listening to your videos for many months now and read your book, Parenting a House United. You and Dr. Paul (Live on Purpose) have been a tremendous help to me in my parenting journey, and life in general! You are an inspiration to me and have greatly blessed me as you share divine, practical wisdom that I believe has the inscription of Heaven! I am so HAPPY for your success on your weight loss journey!! Congratulations on your perseverance and taking the path of self denial an self government and applying it to all facets of life. I pray God will continue to bless your home, your health, your ministry. I believe what you are doing will bring many families to a place of Peace and Happiness, usefulness in this world and finally give them an inheritance in Heaven. Thank you all for your interest and kind words! And, thank you for asking about the DNA test. I understand the interest, but didn't really want to promote or endorse the cleanse to everyone because I don't know how everyone's body will respond, or if they will respond like mine did or not. And, it was REALLY intense. But, since there is so much interest, I'll let you decide upon the cleanse and your body for yourself. I did the NJ Diet cleanse and DNA test, which had some good education and some coaching with it. But, I've lost the majority of my weight after the cleanse, doing what I talked about in the video. And, most people that I've shared the information that I just shared in the video with have immediately started losing weight when they start the 1200 calories per day on the app. I'm hoping to draw attention to the fact that a person can plan to eat their target calories (ie. 1200) and then eat according to their optimal macronutrients and have great success by finding the formula their body needs. When a person follows what I've outlined in the video they are giving themselves "no" answers and instructions many times a day and following through. It's a great self-government journey. Also, here's another part of my plan. After I hit my target weight, which is any day now, then I'll multiply my weight by 11 and eat that many calories per day and still maintain my macronutrient percentages. I will very slowly increase the calories so that I don't spike my weight. Bodies usually have to change eating habits slowly to respond properly. My DNA said that I needed a lower fat diet, but high protein. So, I'm not eating keto, I'm eating according to healthy macro percentages for my body type. There are videos about how to determine what macronutrient percentages your body needs. I watched one of those that related to MyFitnessPal when I was starting my main weight loss phase, even though my DNA already told me what macronutrients to eat. Hopefully that helps.

I have been using MyFitnessPal and the 40/30/30 macros for the last two weeks! I have lost 4 pounds! Thank you so much for sharing! Thank you so much for sharing ☺️ I been waiting 💖 I was one that made those comments... I asked u to make a video way back. Seems like you lost a pound a day as I watched u shrink in daily videos. I thought , well ......"you know" to self talk .... When I take out carbs and bad Sugers that's what I do to . A pound a day just About. ( Ketoish) I said to my self i bet she doing keto 😊. I been diagnosed with a heath issue that needs to be reversed ( non alcoholic fatty liver). I have started on my journey as well and you have giving me encouragement in that area. Bless you🙂💖

Thank you for sharing your journey Nicholeen! I see how complicated this was and the work you put in and respect that. I really think for each individual who is trying to meet their goals that your best skill you can teach is with regards to the Self Government piece that can give people the willpower and control to meet the goals. I think that is the most important part and is a life skill that can be taken and applied in multiple arenas of life. Thank you for that. I would encourage folks to look into not crash diets or specific diet names but small incremental changes over time to put different things in front of yourself that are good options and will help you meet the goals you set for yourself. The Ultimate Anabolic Cookbook by Greg Doucette is one great option for recipes. Good luck everyone!

Hi Nicholeen! Thank you so much for sharing this, I’m so impressed with your example of self-government in losing weight and then keeping it off!!! May I ask, did you find that it was super important to follow the NJ Diet instructions for eliminating certain person care products, or were you able to achieve hormone balance without worrying too much about that part?

Great question! I've known people who haven't changed the hygiene products, but I wanted to go all in and be 100% dedicated to my decision to do the diet. I found that it didn't cost too much to switch what I needed to and it helped my skin (which is the body's largest organ) stay away from absorbing oils in products, which is something to stay away from in the second phase of the diet.

What would you do if your mom in her late 60s was guardian of deceased sisters teenage daughter and there is chaos and dysfunction in the relationship to where it would be best if niece had a better place to live with guardians that actually knew how to raise a healthy adult?

Thank you so much for sharing. My wife and I LOVE your self-government info! Just a quick thought about health to keep in mind: skinny doesn't necessarily mean healthy. I'm sure it has been huge... just keep an eye on your heart health (especially because of the higher protein and fats). Check out Dr. Dr. Esselstyn or Dr. Neil Nedley on nutrition. Just my 2 cents! In one way I understand why you won’t share, however my fitness pal can only help if you know how to program it. How would we know how much protein vs carbs vs fat. How would know if we have a sludged liver or not. With that said, I think the dna test you had is important for anyone else to be as successful as you.

I shared a comment about what program I used and some of the specifics. For my body type, I did 40% protein, 30% fat, and 30% carbs. It might look different for each person, but that's how I split it up.

I don't trust anything that says zero sugar. Stevia sounds dangerous. Now I just work with a shovel. I am 50 years old and just learned to boil eggs. I'm so different. I just eat what food I can find if it feels right. You are blessed.

That's okay. Stevia is a plant that is super sweet and is healthy for your body. I prefer it over sweeteners such as Splenda or Sweet N' Low. But everyone has their own preferences.

The DNA testing sounds awesome, but just read labels and don’t eat stuff full of sugar-over 60 different names of “sugar,” no toxic dyes, msg, cooked olive oil-turns to trans fat when heated over 180°, canola oil, or soy-unless organic/fermented. Also, no GMO foods. Then do intermittent fasting-aka restricted hours of eating, like 16/8 or 18/6. And only eat top quality food items, humanly raised meat and eggs, wild caught fatty fish-especially smaller ones bc of less toxic heavy metals, bone broths, homemade veg soups, fermented foods, lots of fruits and veg, and good olive oil. Intermittent fasting promotes our bodies to go back to our normal healthy weight, but without calorie counting or eating a bizarre diet. Do not eat 0% yogurt or similar fat free items. The good fat in yogurt and other healthy fat foods triggers the leptin in our body that tells us we are full. You also eat less, since fat is filling-UNLESS the fatty items are laces with any sweetener, which blocks the leptin and we think we want more, and then we over eat. Btw, it is NOT calories in, calories out. That false notion does not account for those who have lean strong muscle burning all day and night, vs those who only want to maintain low weight with no lean strong muscle. Build muscle to keep your brain, bones, and total bod at optimal function and a strong metabolism. You look so happy and I am so happy you got to lose the weight and you figured out your hormone and liver challenges! Take care and thank you for all you do!!

The reason you gained so quickly was bc you experienced metabolic adaptation. This is why super low calories is not sustainable or effective for fat loss.
