RIP Tah he's got such a distinct unique voice it sounds so intimidating but look at how much fun he is having it looks like it's all joy. Best hype man ever.
IF u missed THIS ERA, I don't know what to tell you!! AND THESE VIDEOS ARE FLY, but to physically be a kid that grew up in this??? The rap frm our childhood was EVERYTHING!!
I’m a 40 year old conservative classic country listening to white guy, but I must say I love this group and their style! Very talented guys!!! RIP Freaky Tah
+willtynellyworth This is TRUTH!!! There is nothing out there today that I would listen to. I used to love Rap...Not anymore. Nothing but garbage, No skills!
Freaky Tah was killed after leaving Mr Cheeks birthday party at a hotel in Queens right? He left behind a son who is also a rapper that goes by the name of Freaky Kah
Finally met Mr. Cheeks at my 40 year Asbury Park High School NJ Class Reunion.(class of '84). Dude is so down to earth frfr. Much future success Mr Cheeks. Met a hero and he was all that and then some. Peace
So my mom was there with my step-dad it was his reunion and she danced with him. She was happy as hell. My husband is from Asbury too and his reunion was this year and Grand Puba and Lord Jamar were there
I get emotional every-time I hear this track cause this was the track I played in the dealership when I bought my first Lex IS250 off the delivery bay and to this day I have been upgrading the Lexus to the 2021 IS350 F Sport and still banging this track in the dealership (Rest In Paradise Freaky Tah) This track kept me motivated to buy a Lex through hard work
When you look how much rap is used in car commercials, shoe commercials. Rappers in the 80's and 90's gave free promotion to Benz, BMW, Lexus, Range Rover, Nike, LA Raiders, Gucci, Louis Vuitton, Girbaud, Timberlands, and much more. You have to admire Kanye for recognizing the business opportunity.
Im 47, I was 23 years old in 1995, I can say those Rappers are my HipHop Piers since they are in my Age Bracket, that's why I always seen them in person at the same HipHop Clubs in NEWYORK CITY I use to go to through out the 90s , especially a club called the TUNNEL
One of my favorite songs, I'm a 50 year old white guy. Just a great song about a place and time and a culture. These guys loved Queens, their fans, their scene. And it shows. It's a true classic.
Such nostalgia with this song. Taking me back to my high school years, growing up in Jamaica Queens. I was 15 in 1995 when they released this song. Good times that went by so quickly. I'm 39 now and still bump this and all the Lost Boyz songs like they're new. Miss the whole vibe...Lost Boyz, Onyx, Mobb Deep, B.O.N.E. Thugs N Harmony, DMX, Eve, Drag On, Lox, Biggie, Lil Kim, Foxy Brown, Wu Tang, Nas, Jadakiss, LL, Tribe Called Quest, KRS One, Naughty by Nature, Snoop, Dre, Pac, Salt n Pepa, MC Lyte, Queen Latifah, Fugees, Mos Def, AZ, Redman, Talib Kweli, Gang Starr..I could go on and on, but boy did we have some good music and talented MCs.
+zava34 Get outta my head, yo we had our own shish back then son, can't front BK started that fatigue thing tho son...I was in the penile on an outta town bid and I was down three years when this hit. Yo I gathered all my NY homeys up in the day room every time this joint cam eon BET...
You clearly never heard rap from the 80s and 90s. It was bitches and hoes then too. It`s always different vibes in hip hop. So you will have those who rap about that and those who rap about more enlightened topics. Just depends on whose rapping
@@freddynj6140 yeah that is actually what drew us closer not just the fight but sometimes just the confrontation to get to the bottom of things cause a lot of problems have been caused in the world just cause of ppl not being direct and egos clashing etc
I love "Hip Hop" when the MC's are just being themselves and not trying to be what they think the industry or the people wants. When you can be yourself and the people love it, that's when you know it's real and you have a gift. "Lost Boys" were authentic and a great chapter in the history of Hip Hop. 🌃👑🎤🌃✨
Man, look at us "Black Man" and Woman! The energy and vibrations we give off is astronomical. We're the most beautiful thing in this world 🌍. 🥀R I.P Freaky Tah🥀🎤👑🌃✨
Beverly Huttinger tell me about it! I visited Queens last month for my b day and the neighborhood reminded me lot like Chicago on 87th Street. I wish I was old enough to visit NYC back in the 90s I know it was lit and live!
I haven't listened to this is in more than 20 years but I am glad I checked this out again today. The Lost Boyz are soulful and highly underrated; unsung, as a matter of fact. It's insulting that they are never mentioned in any of today's hip-hop conversations.
the cool thing about this video ( and a lot of them back in the day ) was in order to shoot it they needed a bunch of extras from the neighborhood to fill out the crowd...and since there was no Twitter or Facebook ....or internet at all lol...heads just showed up from word on the street.
Respect to the hustlers selling their cd and tapes on the street. Alot of talent went unheard. Today's rappers all have the same rehearsed flow to the same trap beat and rap one wack verse and then sing horribly for the rest of the track.
This is why , this generation has no starts they have popular people. They have no stage presence, they rap over their vocals and it supposed to be live 😂 they wouldn't have never made it in the 90's you had to damn near reenact the whole video for us, ain't no walking back and forth yelling into the Mike for us . We would boo the shit outta you.
Oh please they did that same shit back then.... The female rappers and some of the male rappers did it too...you wanna sound so politically correct but in actuality u sound dumb and stupid.....
This is what i was listening too in the year of(95) at (15) when Rap Was Real..Such a big difference from then and now..I really miss these days..#Salute #LB R.I.P Freaky Tah...U helped make the songs komplete..FoSho❤
90s! My era! Being a New Yorker and seeing this Lost Boys video makes me appreciate the realness that era instilled in me. Without the 90s I wouldn’t be here. RIP Freaky Tah!!
Just listened to this after not hearing it for over 20 years. Words came back to me like riding a bike. Got incredibly happy and sad listening to this. I'm glad to be alive though.
I'm digging deeper into the real underground hip hop as a 14 year old it's good to see that I know that this is where its at. 2022: Ight i'm older now and I did mah homework on these dudes the past 2 years, they ain't underground but i'm still bumpin lost boyz
Classics like these can’t stale rip freaky tah🙏one of the most underrated hip-hop groups of all time, their Music still makes me high, I was 8yrs old when this came out and now at 36 feel the same way✊🏾💯🇯🇲 90s hip-hop hit different
