During USA colonial period of the Philippines, the gold mines were owned/managed/operated by Americans, and the mines were selling/trading and supplying the gold to other countries.. and the gold were marked with the old name/s of those countries that bought the gold from the mines.. The Japanese invaded PH becoz of the American bases etc and becoz also of the mines. When Roosevelt sanctioned Japan's trade with minerals and metals, the Japanese industry sufferred and needed the resources such as copper and iron ore which were supplied by the mining facilities in PH. That was one of the reasons that Japan invaded PH, becoz of the gold mines and mining facilities. Japan needed copper and iron ore, and of course, gold and other metals were also being mined in the country.. Think about it, that gold is very heavy, and the old mining facilites had the bars from 6 kilos to 12 kilos each.. Imagine the hassle of carrying all those from the ships to the mountains of Luzon 😄... Anyways, that's tha facts.
