And as promised, here the centipede fact of the day, fitting your discovery of the red guys armour: Technically, all centipedes are armoured, but only the red ones deflect spears. If you hit any centipede with a spear, its plate falls off in that spot and reveals their black body. If you have some artistic (or sadistic) tenacity, you can remove all armour plates and technically "peel" a centipede.
