Would you believe that the biggest indoor waterpark and rainforest is in.. Berlin, Germany? What will shock you even more is that Tropical Islands Berlin found inside a blimp / zeppelin hangar. Crazy, right?
In Germany, they go through drastic measures to stay warm in the winter, which includes building epic-scale indoor waterparks and spas that will make you feel like you're on a tropical holiday.
Tropical Islands Resort in Berlin is home to a man-made beach, the world's largest indoor rainforest (complete with turtles, flamingos and butterflies), and themed sections that will transport you to Bali, Thailand, Cambodia, Latin America, Samoa and Africa, all without setting foot outside the blimp.
It's a short day trip from Berlin, about an hour's drive, near Spreewald. You can head there for a day trip and even stay overnight at one of the many themed rooms inside the hangar.
