There are so many pieces of lost media from kids shows that aired on Nick Jr. and Playhouse Disney, let's discuss some of the popular topics from this category!
Something that might be lost media: When the original Caillou books started, he was a baby. Once he needed to become a toddler, he would have to be added hair. However, when samples of these books from that phase were shown to test audiences, they didn't recognize the now-haired Caillou, so they left him bald for the rest of the series. I wonder if these early sample books of Caillou with hair ever surfaced.
BTW idk if it was a pilot or not but I remember watching a clip or something and it was animated (looked similar to the final series) and it started with a grandma with her 2 grandchildren ; boy & girl respectively. And I saw a baby caillou with Blue overalls. The art style was similar to the early seasons.
*i'm just a kid who's four* *each day i grow some more* (you should probably remember this) so if he was a baby then he needed to become a toddler i think it was something that was a part of growing up or smth like that
Ohohohohohohohohoh! Kayloo! How dare you not be recognized with hair by test audiences! That's it! You are grounded grounded grounded grounded grounded forever!
Hey LSSQ. There's one pilot I've been looking into as of recent, and that's the pilot for Danger Rangers, a safety-oriented animated series that aired on PBS Kids back in the mid-00's. Although it aired around that date, the earliest known pilot for the series was made back in the late 90's by a pair of brothers named Christopher and Scott West. They were tasked with making a pilot meant to encourage investors to fund the production of a full series by the ones who originally came up with the idea. All I know about this particular pilot was the fact it was the fact the voice cast was done by a bunch of locals in Tennessee and everything else, from storyboarding, animating and editing were done by both Wests. I've been trying to get in contact with either West to see if they still have anything from this pilot, but I have yet to get any sort of response back from them. I've made quite a few videos of my own (and found another piece of Danger Rangers lost media in the process) on my own channel.
I watched a frankly absurd amount of Danger Rangers as a kid because we had the episodes on DVD, combined with a portable DVD player for long car rides. Would be super interested to see any development/concept work from the show!
The lost media I'm most interested in is "Me And My Friends", the original pilot for The Backyardigans. It's from 1998 and was a live-action show with people in costumes, and only a few tiny pieces have ever been found.
new memory unlocked, and I'm surprised that jungle junction isn't more widely known since it's so well made, outclassing a lot of other 3d animation for the time, both in directing and in visual quality.
Team Umizoomi was my childhood and same for Little Einsteins I remember watching those two shows again and again and again for like eight years since I’m on the autism spectrum I had like a big attachment to those shows but now that I’m 15 I have distance myself from one of those shows that being Team Umizoomi but I still watch Little Einsteins when I feel like it which admittedly is pretty much all the time
Hey, I’m also autistic! Yeah, I can relate to being attached to shows that are targeted towards little kids, and I just gotta say that you don’t have to distance yourself from them completely. It’s nice to heal your inner child and watch the things that made you happy as a kid. Though, if you do distance yourself from a show because your getting older and it’s just not your thing anymore, I totally get it:)
i'm autistic too ! as well as a teen, and i fully relate to that, i still watch little einsteins, baby einstein, basically every single show i used to watch when i was younger because of the attachment i have to them
@@d00mheadDude please don’t mention baby Einstein that show scarred me for life as a kid so much so that it’s the show that made me autistic to this day and it’s pretty much a blessing and a curse so please don’t reference that show it scarred me for life. Sorry 😭😭😭😭😥😥😥😥😰😨😰😰
Lost media from kids shows are the most fascinating form of lost media in my opinion. I don’t know why, I assume it’s because it’s something I grew up on.
for me, it's got a little creepiness to it sorta like creepypastas. obviously they wouldn't have created red mist/squidward's suicide as a complete episode, especially with the edited photos of dead kids, but then theres thing like the lost Thomas & Friends pilots with different models used than in the final show. In reality they would be remade for ease of filming, but they carry this energy like "maybe they were cut for a darker reason, maybe they hurt someone" or something like that.
I actually remember the original Kai-Lan shorts (or at least one of them), where Kai-Lan said “Hi! I’m Kai-Lan!” instead of “Ni Hao! I’m Kai-Lan!” And I also still have a Baby Einstein DVD from when I was VERY little that includes the short trailer to the Little Einstein pilot! And I actually somewhat remember Jungle Junction, as I distinctly remember watching the series premiere as a sneak preview when I was in elementary school after what I think was a new Handy Manny special!
fun fact for the old muno and brobee costumes in the 200s pilot: they were originally characters from the aquabats. brobee was weedy the broccoli bee and muno was cyclopsis
(13:56) baby einstein is a mixed-media series for toddlers and younger kids that includes puppets and animation. i watched it as a kid but my mother gave the cds away to my younger cousin i also remember seeing jungle junction, but it had to be in passing because the memory is very vague.
@@Rathulu03 If you didn't already know this, I'm pretty sure that Little Einsteins and Baby Einstein were both made by the same company (The Baby Einstein Company), as well as being distributed by Disney. Little Einsteins is basically Baby Einstein's preschool equivalent. There was actually going to be a third show for the in-between demographic (not quite baby but also not a preschooler, so toddlers) called Einstein Pals, but it never got released. The only material we know exists of it are some teasers/trailers and some other miscellaneous promotional material. It in itself is considered lost media. It was most likely canceled due to controversy surrounding the Baby Einstein brand from 2007-2009.
I hope that you can spark up a search for the lost 1999 pilots for Winx Club, W.I.T.C.H. and Totally Spies. I feel like there is a chance of at least one of these pilots, but they're not talked about enough.
Fun Fact: The ORGINAL theme song from the Dora the Explorer pilot was found! And some more footage from it!! Someone uploaded this on RU-vid! It’s from an abc news thingy featuring Dora
The costumes in Yo Gabba came from several videos of the Aquabats, which is a band involving superhero elements. The Aquabats lead singer was involved in putting together Yo Gabba Gabba, which is why viewers may often see the Aquabats collaborate with Yo Gabba Gabba in some way. Also, oh gosh; I kind of forgotten about Jungle Junction.
Thank you SO much for talking about the Team Umizoomi pilot. Team umizoomi is such an VERY underrated show and I'm very interested in this pilot it would be nice to see the some of the scrapped characters in that pilot. P.S Viacom should bring back Team Umizoomi too bad that's probably not gonna happen (Aside from Paramount Plus and Noggin they're basically dead)
Thank you for covering the Jungle Junction pilots more! I started the search and I have been trying to contact the shows staff members for years and have gotten nowhere really other than one response that is linked in the LMW Article. If anyone here could maybe successfully contact Trevor Rickkets about this that would be awesome, as I can not find anywhere where he responds.
I have contacted Nancy Kanter who used to be the senior VP of Disney Junior, I asked if she would happen to have any footage of the jungle junction pilots. Hopefully I get a response back.
@@TheOneLegendaryGamer I did that when I first started the search and her response was just "I am sorry but I am unable to accommodate your request." But maybe something has changed over the past 2 years so best of luck!
Holy crap you just dug up a DEEP memory about Jungle Junction. I’d sometimes watch it while I got ready for school because, even though I was already a teenager, I wanted some background noise.
Hell yeah I loved Jungle Junction! There were so many shows I watched, Tinga Tinga Tales, Special Agent Oso, Jojo's Circus, Miss Spider, Little Bear, all around the same block as it. I really hope someone finds those pilots & Kai Lan, all of these honestly, near all of these shows were my childhood or my sisters.
My brother used to watch YO GABBA GABBA! so often, for he loved the series so much! If I were him, I would be dancing under utter energy upon Disk Jockey Lance Robertson's turning on the beat! These days he's a collegian in the sophomore year at a trade school. Musical (adjective) is his majour.
When i was younger and when we'd go on field trips in elementary school, we used to sing the Little Einsteins theme on the bus rides and would jump every time we'd drive over train tracks 😌😌 such good memories
That sounds amzing😀, I wish the elementary school I went to as a kid sung that or any other preschoolers show while we were on going for a field trip every time.(Man, wouldn't be great to be a child again.)
OH MY GOD I HAVE FOND MEMORIES OF THAT TOO!!! I didn’t ride the bus but on a field trip from sometime long ago the kids sung it. I didn’t as I was a quiet kid back then.
I am so glad you talked about the yo gabba gabba pilot, i used to love that show as a child and had every piece of merch until i lost it in storage so im def gonna try getting in on that search.
That Nickkit video sounds super interesting! Leaked videos that were widely discussed but still went missing are fascinating to me, especially something as juicy sounding as Nickkit.
2:27 Update: Good news lost media fans! More footage from Funline Animation has surfaced in a video they posted on Vimeo called, Be the Explorer_1, which contains a few pieces of the pilot! In color and with the same VHS format like in that clip we saw on Vimeo. And contains footage of the now hated 3D CGI Reboot of the show from 2023… Man, when will that 3D CGI Cringey Reboot ever go away??? Anyways that’s all the good news I have for all of you lost media fans.
The mention of the phrase "Jungle Junction" unlocked a primal response within me for some reason. I might be blending it with Chuggington, another weird-ahh show from then.
Hi Lssq, great video as always! I would be interested to see you cover the lost 2009 pilot for Jake and the Never Land Pirates as well as the 2005 & 2006 pilots for My Friends Tigger & Pooh, as I feel that less people are aware of them. I also hope the little Einsteins pilots get found someday. Thanks!
Another great video LSSQ! :D However, could you consider looking into the “Wow Wow Wubbzy!” pilot? I feel like almost no-one really gives it attention…nor even knows it even exists.
Weird how I knew all of these shows growing up between me being born in the late 90s and my younger sibling being born in the mid 00s, so I had some recollection of everything in this video except Jungle Junction for some unknown reason 😂😂 out of everything my brain blocked it out completely until now. 😂 Great video btw, lost media as a whole is such an interesting topic; and it's strange to think that something so integral to our childhoods and developmental years has parts of it that are just lost to time..
I totally forgot about something like "jungle junction" until you covered it in this video, which is surprising to me, considering that I remembered almost all the shows that I often watched as a child. Now I remember that I even had a set of toys of the three main characters, but the pig car couldn't stand on their own.
I remember that Little Einsteins trailer on a Baby Einstein DVD (the one with the giraffe) I bet I was confused as a kid as I was familiar with the final show
There's lost media I spent time searching for, along 2 friends of mine. If you wonder what I'm referring to, it's the lost English dub of an Italian 3D bird cartoon named La Banda Volante, also known as Bird Squad in English. It was available to watch back in 2013, but it got taken down in 2014... Not sure if anyone in the comments knows information about it.
Not sure if this would be any help, but maybe you could try getting in contact with Marc Weiner for the Dora pilot? He helped out some when a lot of Weinerville episodes were lost; IIRC he has all the episodes but there's a rights issue with Nickelodeon holding them up from distribution. He worked on Dora too after Weinerville ended.
I remember jungle junction and I'm 20. I only remember it because my little brother would watch it and the hook to the theme song was too catchy. "It's jungle junction, it's juunglee juuunctionnnn- *jungle junction"*
LSSQ needs to look into lost comics. There have been entire series and a million different one-offs lost since the end of the golden age. Semi-recently, some of Vailent's stuff is gone and and both EC comcis and Eerie have missing parts of their horror catalogues.
I don't know if you've ever covered this, but I'd be really interested in someone covering the lost PBS Kids game, PBS Kids Play. It was a subscription service that allowed you to play a bunch of different games. It's only partially found, but I would love to be able to play the full game again someday.
I remember Jungle Junction, I used to watch it, I had no idea this show was obscure, although to be honest I couldn't remember it's name until now, so thanks.
I am hoping that the whole Blue’s Clues unaired 1995 pilot called Blue Prints or Blue’s Prints will be confirmed soon so that everyone can see the whole thing.
I was hoping the pilot for Yo Gabba Gabba would be talked about! I’m really hoping Play will be found due to the fact that I’ve been watching the show religiously as a small child! Thank you for covering it
As someone who personally grew up with Jungle Junction, when I was younger, I will be extactic the day the pilot is found. Heck, maybe even I could personally help try and find it
The person who found the bubble guppies pilot (notbozo) tried to contact the worker of the pilot of unizoomiz, he got blocked sadly so its most likely not gonna be found.
Well I came across a wired article by natania barron about an interview with the voice actor of bot and it claims to have watched it and have it but i’m not sure if I should contact them cuz idk if people have tried to in the past
Similarly, I contacted people who worked at Sprout asking if they had the Sprout history video (see my comment on this vid), but they all said they don't have it!
I'm not sure if you'll see this, but I was wondering if you could look into this? Jelly Jamm is a British-Spanish animated series that aired on Cartoonito from 2011-2013. The show centers on Bello, Goomo, Mina, Rita, and Ongo, a close group of friends who go on adventures in the planet of Jammbo, the home of all music. The pilot of the series was produced in 2008, and hasn’t been seen since the show got picked up in 2009. Only a few clips survive online, along with various pieces of concept art. The pitch bible of the series also is available. Various promotional images also are found. This pilot is notable because of how different the characters' designs are, compared to the final product. This is most evident in Goomo's design. However, as of April 2022, there hasn’t been any progress on finding the pilot, from what I've seen. The search isn’t really that active anymore, so maybe, if you could cover it, we'd be able to draw more eyes/attention onto it?
that red thing from the yo gabba pilot's name is Cyclopsis, Cyclopsis is a Villian the Aquabats Used to fight. (The creator of yogabba gabba is the lead singer of said band)
Really hoping you can cover "Me and My Friends". It was the first pilot for the Backyardigans, and it wad a live action project On top of that, i hope the 2nd pilot for the Backyardigans gets covered too! That one has less media found!
Unlucky for you, the lost media wiki is full of children and children can get annoying at sometimes. And that results in us never having a possibility of having either pilots now.
This video is awesome! I never knew Dora had a lost pilot. I loved that show growing up. I'd love to see if The Upside Down Show has a lost pilot! That was me and my siblings favorite show growing up! It was always so unexpected and fun! Thanks for all the hard work you do! Your channel is amazing! ❤
1:26 yes I do remember this show but don’t recall remembering the pilot episode of Dora itself. Maybe funline animation might upload the entire pilot and the lost media wiki will be surprised of the pilot being found.
In case if anyone is still trying to find me and my friends pilot I'm pretty sure the meerkats plot was supposed to steal Tyrone's plush that the toy he carried around and then they had to go try to get it back and unique will probably painted a picture in the pilot I don't know much but I think that was the point of them😢
That dude with a gun was probably part of a different project. Considering his clown design, perhaps it was for a scrapped Batman show. Either that or some kind of superhero show
Oh yea! I remember seeing the Little Einstein pilot trailer on my DVD of Baby Einstein: Neighborhood Animals. You just unlocked a MASSIVE childhood memory lol
I used to watch Ni hao Kai-lan I remember vividly of having a plush of one of the characters that I might be able to find. But I don't know if I sold it or not
I actually have the Little Einstein’s 40 second Commercial on DVD’s on Baby Einstein’s. I didn’t even know that this was lost media but it’s hilarious that I have the commercial for it on a Baby Einstein’s DVD of all places 😂
6:53 the hd clips come from a character reel from vimeo (they were trimmed out on an unknown date) but it lacks audio and doesn’t have the scene of milli measuring the dinosaurs tail so i also think it comes from that
I watched Jungle Junction while on vacation on a tv at a hotel back in the early 2010's most likely, and I genuinely thought it was some fever dream I had until like 2-3 years ago when I saw a thing on twitter about it, the concept of the show alone is so odd to me.
Hey, in Spain there was a popular tv show called "Club Houdini" which aired in Disney Channel, itfollowed a group of 4 kids solving a mistery, well at the end of season 1 they found a bunch of artwork by famous painters from Spain, after that there was the season's finale : a woman in a red coat stole all of the artwork this made it seam that in the next season the kids would find the artwork and the lady, well the next season rolls around and we see that the artwork is in a museum and there's no trace of the woman in the red coat. Now when you look at season 1 in the Spanish version of Disney + the season 1 episode isn't there, the show ended up having 3 seasons but it's no longer in air ifyou want more info I'll be happy to respond ❤
i remember that show!!! i remember one night on the day of the finale i think they reran the whole thing (i think, this might just be my shitty memory making stuff up) and me and my mum spent the whole night watching it. havent heard much about it since as i moved away from spain lol
I would love to see you do a video like this on the barney franchise.A lot of people don't really know this but ever since the famous barney and friends show went out of the air in 2010, a lot of episodes from previous seasons of the show has been considered lost media due to pbs kids and sprout now known as universal kids after being bought by NBCuniversal expiring airings of the Barney and friends show in 2016 long after the series has ended as well as most home videos and seasons of the show being delisted on streaming platforms.A lot of long time fans of the barney franchise has partially found lost media of episodes of barney and friends from rare DVD releases and VHS capturings on the internet. And now with Mattel bringing back the franchise with an upcoming animated series and a new movie in the works, people really don't know what Mattel is gonna do with the barney franchise soon after. The Barney franchise has an really bizarre and somewhat interesting history that I would love to see you do a video on with the help of long time fans of the Barney franchise on the Internet as well as former cast and crew members of the franchise.
Hey So this is a show that I remember watching in my childhood (around when I was five to six) I don't remember much about it but I do remember is this: It had a mostly white color scheme with bits of red blue yellow and green. The show had a main host that looked like joe from blues clues. The show was 3d animated there was a rail system with a tablet inside the main cart I remember the show airing on like telemundo but they spoke english so i don think thats the case. I hope that leaving it here will help me look for it Thanks :)
Oh God, I definitely remember Jungle Junction. Not because I watched it but because it's theme song was so annoyingly catchy that I changed the channel whenever it came on so it wouldn't be stuck in my head lmao
I remember Jungle Junction, haha! They used to play it at the kids hair cutting shop that I went to whenever I was very young, what a fever dream of a show! Kept me entertained I guess.
I’ve been interested in lost media ever since i could remember (I’m 15 now so I started becoming interested when I was like 5 because it’s so fascinating to me) but in all honesty, lost cartoon pilots are my favorite because you can see the changes in the characters
I think you should talk about the lost The Wiggles pilot it was made in the early 90's and Greg the original Yellow Wiggle has a copy of it but the pilot itself has never resurfaced
My brother has so much old kids shows on either VHS or DVD of every show in this video. I remember seeing the early Little Einsteins ad in one of my brothers movies and thought of how early it looked I plan to look through those old videos and see what I could find. I’m sure any kids show that was one Nick Jr and Disney Jr we have on some form of film
Hopefully the Jungle Junction pilot gets released! When it comes to Disney it can be a bit hit and miss. I worked on some of their shows and some production stuff will never see the light of day because they're super strict about sharing and also how you share (a little annoyingly so for people who need portfolios). Probably why nothing came of Ricketts; if the sharing rights fully belong to Disney, then the legal team might have told him no. But since it's an obscure and older show (that most likely generates them 0$), I doubt Disney still wouldn't allow it if pressed a little harder about it
