DISCLAIMER: THIS VIDEO IS NOT MADE FOR KIDS THIS IS ONLY MADE FOR TEENS AND ADULTS WHO LIKE SESAME STREET OR PEOPLE WHO ARE INTO LOST MEDIA EVERYONE CAN ENJOY THIS AND SAY WHAT THEY WANT IN THE COMMENTS
The iconic children’s educational show Sesame Street has it’s fair share of stage shows over the years like at the Ice Follies, Sesame Place, Seaworld, and it’s own stage show Sesame Street Live. While a good amount of recordings of those stage shows are widely available online there is however one Sesame Street stage show that is really obscure and has seem to be forgotten in time.
Which it took place during the early years of the show and it was even made as a special on television as well, which while most Sesame Street specials from that era have been officially released on home video or at the very least most complete material have been found, there is one however that is really not that well known and probably one of the most obscure pieces of Sesame Street Lost Media in existence.
The stage show was called Sesame Street Cast Tour, and the tv special’s name, Sesame Street in San Francisco. Which took place at San Francisco, Golden Gate Park, and ran from August 31 to September 14 1970. It featured characters such as Gordon, Susan, Bob, Mr. Hooper and Big Bird played by Danny Seagren not Caroll Spinney. The cast performed at two shows in Harlem's Apollo Theater before kicking off the national tour in September before a crowd of 15,000 at San Francisco's Golden Gate Park where a reporter described the event as a preschooler's Woodstock. The special was filmed and broadcasted on September 1, 1970 on the PBS station, KQED. The purpose of the Cast Tour was to promote the second season of the show which would later premiere in November that same year and the stage show itself was 40 minutes long.
For decades material of the stage show itself wouldn’t surface online until (according to the wayback machine) around 2020 that the Muppets Fandom created a page of the stage show included with info and three black and white photos of it. In November of 2020, two videos of footage of the stage show was posted by the Digital Information Virtual Archive (DIVA) website, making it the first time in over fifty years, that footage of the Cast Tour surfaced online. Three years later (according to the wayback machine) in October 2023, another page of the stage show was created on the Muppets Fandom site, that not only included some more information, but 16 screenshots of the original tv broadcast version of the stage show were leaked online.
However despite this the original tv broadcast is no where to watch online, which the leaked screenshots were possibly a source from an anonymous user that has the recording privately which this confirms that a recording of it does still exists somewhere.
Unfortunately finding another recording of the tv broadcast would be incredibly difficult to find as recording tv broadcasts was uncommon at the time, it’s also unknown if the master copy of it still exists either by PBS or Sesame Workshop’s archives. So until more material or if the tv broadcast of the stage show will ever be seen by the light of day again, this super obscure piece of Sesame Street history remains to be seen by the public to watch.

Hard to believe that Loretta Long (who played Susan) is the last surviving human cast member from this stage show

I remember they mentioned that on the documentary, "I am Big Bird" when something went wrong and big bird was sending signals to a CB radio of a trucker. And then Bob shove the microphone through Big Bird's neck.

Hello, I was thinking, this is only a suggestion for your channel, for future videos, what about doing a video on the never released deleted scenes of the first child's play movie from 1988, or the canceled episode of thomas and friends titled (the missing coach), or the unaired (down the mine) pilot, or the unaired sesame street episode (snuffys parents get a divorce), or the unreleased cars short titled (to protect and serve)?

Hmm…those do sound interesting, although pretty much all of them already have videos of them made on RU-vid. But I can see if I can try to find new material of them or maybe a compilation of all the material that’s available online at the very least. Cause I usually like to make lost media videos on stuff that’s either not on the lost media wiki, something that’s really obscure, and I like to tackle franchises that barely get talked about in terms of lost media. Also Thomas Lost Media gets discovered easily by Thomas Fans, so I want to find a piece of Thomas Lost Media that I might find interesting enough to upload. I did found material of a Thomas Stage Show from the 90s, that I will think I will make a compilation of unless someone beats me to it. But yeah your suggestion does sound interesting, so I will think about those ideas you mentioned, and see what I could upload from those pieces of media at some point.

@raretendo6879 ok but you should totally consider the child's play 1988 deleted scenes, also you should look into them first and find out what happens in them, so far only promotional images can be found of them on the internet, I'd suggest looking in wiki Fandom, of the first movie they have almost all the pictures as well as a description what happens in them, but if you want to explain them all in order, I'd recommend looking through the original 1987 script on internet archive, there are suposably 10 to 12 deleted scenes, and possibly more, but only 9 or 10 of those scenes remain confirmed to be filmed, 2 others are only rumored by fans, the directors also spoke of an alternative ending, but its unknown if that was filmed or not. Tom Holland the director told my friend on twitter that he has the footage in his possession, but hasn't been given the rights to release them. Also fun fact the screen testing of the movie originally ran for nearly 2 hours, but resulted in negative reviews, so 25 minutes was trimmed off, making nearly an hour and a half, and became a blockbuster success. So yeah it's sad that nobody's ever gotten to see those 25 minutes, but hopefully someday we will, Tom Holland is hopeful too.

@raretendo6879 and no unfortunately, just like the footage, some of the pictures of the scenes remain lost, this includes the scene where Andy falls in a ditch after Eddie's house blows up, that one I know was filmed, but other scenes like when Karen and Mike survey the toy store, and the alternate ending are rumored by fans to be filmed, but is unconfirmed.
