Since so many people keep asking - YES, Episode 2 is in development. However we're focusing on Noble 6: Ghost of Reach right now. We love Jeta Team and intend to tell their story, even all these years later! Buy me a coffee to see more!☕ www.patreon.com/LightFire
I can't wait I remember when you first made this episode and how blown away by the quality of work you put into it can't wait to see where you take this amazing story. Keep up the good work
Thank god I thought it was forgotten tbh but seeing you come back to animation gave me hope, but then nothing for so long... I'm just glad to hear your still working on it. Would love updates as you have them!
We'll explain more this in our live stream and q&a (coming sometime fairly soon) - but we're really determined to express the true lore of Halo (including the lethality of the Covenant, and plasma!)
I like how this series focuses on the self sacrifice mentality of the Spartan III's. They were created to be cheaper spartans, but they gave more than what anyone would have thought in the human-covenant war. Great series keep it up
SIII's are so underhyped by the halo community it's not funny and makes me sad. They get put under SII's a lot and people talk about how they're expendable and not as good as the II's which really isn't the case. Only if people read the books more.
After reading Halo: The Fall of Reach, there was no mention of the Spartan III program existing yet. In fact, the Spartan IIs only just got their official mjolnir armor basically right before the planet got glassed.
I love the concept of the survivors of glassing a planet. it has never really been talked about or explained. for example forgot which halo book but a dude is the only survivor on his planet and starts a black market trading with jackals. love how it looks good job dude.
Halo First Strike has a considerable amount of spartans on Reach after glassing - which we're using heavily for reference and a foundation for now and later! Thanks man!!
Legacy of Onyx focuses on Molly Patel, who survived a glassing. She was rescued from a tunnel by Sgt. Johnson and (in the book) lives in Onyx with her adoptive parents. EDIT: The book @TheRookie was referencing is the Kilo Five Trilogy, where Staffan Sentzke escaped Sansa.
I was writing a small story about a girl and her dog who survived reach, later she ends up on earth and has some downtime until the events of halo 2 take place, from that point on she experiences most of the events that occur during the main games with the story ending after she escapes the flood infection of voi along with a group of elites and ODSTs that came to evacuate people.
"Spoiler" The Death felt like a real reach death, gritty, unfair, unglamours, and without hessitation...Real... I had to replay what just happened to comprehend it. Well done
Okay, I've just finished watching all your Halo: Lost Wolves content and dude... you're a genius. Literally gave me goose bumps. I always thought and dreamt about what could have possibly happened to those Spartans left behind on Reach. I even went as far as to create my own team. There was just something so daunting, so despairing and intriguing about their fate, about injured and hopeless Spartans left behind, struggling to escape off the planet before it was glassed. About all those they lost in their mission and the agony of knowing that for all their efforts and sacrifice, Reach was lost. It appealed to me in a way that only something Halo really could. It inspired me to write a story of my own spartan team, and how they fought, bloody and broken and grief-ridden, to get off the planet they were supposed to protect. Abandoned. Stranded. Alone. And surrounded by the enemy. But I never actually got to release it, to get it out there. So seeing you, a fellow Halo fan, creating something so amazing and creative as this... I'm glad I stumbled upon your channel this day. It gives me hope. My spartan heart has never been prouder to be apart of this community. You can rest assured knowing that wherever this journey takes us, I'll be watching with pride along the way.
You said you wanted to make this series accurate to the lore and to show how deadly the Covenant and their plasma was... Holy shit you did not disappoint. That Hunter's fuel rod was not a direct hit and it doesn't matter. Those things are DEVASTATING. Props to you guys. Major props. This took me right back to The Fall of Reach book.
Actually what the Hunter fired (the last shot) was a new weapon not seen in canon, in Episode 2 we'll learn more about it's effects, and what condition Sam is now in. Thanks for the kind words :D
@garylococo2401 l disagree Gary, l enjoyed the Halo TV series but then I'm new to Halo and admittedly don't know much about the lore behind the franchise! Anyhoo best wishes dude 👍
@@NorthernMouse52 your analogy is the same as never seeing a lion ever and a movie about lions just have tigers in it and everyone says this lion movie was trash and yiur like well I've known much about lions but they looked great in it
Isn’t crazy how a piece of an art can inspire so much creativity and love within a person which turns into something tangible and worth something. All of you! Incredible job!
Holy crap that was good... I thought it cruel but cinematically perfect to play the fall of Nobel Team, but then to kill someone in the way that it happened... So gritty and unfair, that is Reach. It was Beautiful.
@@The_Sly_Potato I don't want them to find any of the Noble team, including Noble 6, because the whole point of Halo Reach was to show that they were willing to die for the human race. If any of the Noble Team survived, I feel as if it would make the story seem less impossible and dire.
@@mynameisbrigham You're wrong, Noble 3 (Jun-A266) survived, escaped Reach and helped start the Spartan IV program and accompanied it on the Infinity. And there is a very slight chance that Noble 6 is just MIA. We never saw him die in that specific situation. He most probably didn't survive and escape Reach, but he could have survived longer than that cutscene leads us to think (even if it's just a few days or weeks).
It's been a year since the first episode, and I'm now wondering if Episode 2 will ever come true, because when it does, I'm paying this man! This awoken my Halo Reach craving once again I felt like I was finally getting the sequel I've wanted! And I can honestly say that it feels amazing!! Thank you for this HF, you're an incredibly important member of the Halo community!
I love that someone has done something with this games potential. Halo hasn't received an actually decent show or movie even though it has such substance for it. This is simply amazing and knowing some people that really enjoy the series, not people that make TV shows with big companies with agendas is great. This looks great and I hope it keeps going well for you because I've wanted something like this (probably like many others) for years. Thank you.
This team of SPARTAN-IIIs have more military bearing and discipline than the atrocious SPARTAN-IVs. Great job on depicting the proper behavior of SPARTAN-IIIs.
Spartan IV’s are the most human out of all the Spartans. They had a choice, they retained the same personalities they had pre augmentation. They just aren’t on the same level as the Spartan II’s and III’s. The Spartan II’s had a huge chunk of their humanity robbed from them from an early age, and age too early for them to realize what was lost which many of them have come to terms with(not to mention they had no say and were kidnapped young children,) and Spartan III’s had a sense of duty and self sacrifice that went above and beyond what was initially expected of them. Spartan IV’s are just regular soldiers that went through less severe augmentations and that’s fine. Some Spartan IV’s, especially those who understand what the other Spartan generations had to go through, definitely have discipline and deserve the title of Spartan. But the Spartan IV’s in halo 4 sucked except that one guy, Thorne I think? Yeah Thorne is one of those Spartan IV’s that should’ve been a III or II. But the Spartan team we saw in Halo 4 was an embarrassment to Jun who most likely helped train them.
I was really hoping this was a series I was late to seeing so I could binge watch all the other episodes after this one. Amazing story, Bravo. I loved this and will be anxiously waiting for the next episodes in the line up. Thank you for the great story and animation! 🙂
I was wrong about you Chris I used to see you in a negative light and lately i've seen that it was wrong for me to do that I apologize if I hurt you in any of my previous comments on your channel you're a very dedicated Halo fan and you deserve all the great things that you've received and the things that you'll keep receiving in the future. I was another stupid sheep riding the Halofollower hate train and I regret jumping on that train. (P.S you and your team did an amazing job with this animation, the amount of violence in this really shows off how brutal the covenant actually was during the human-covenant war.)
This was an actual privilege to watch... this stuff if the most badass thing you could ever watch amazing job with this please make more then 10 episodes I’ll watch every single one that ever comes out. Thank you for this experience good work on this
I swear on Reach's skies and Harvest's militia, you should continue this, I love every part of it, the suddenness of death, etc... Good job, 10/10. You should continue this; Remember Reach.
This was beyond great. Remember reach. I'm not crying. Your crying. The reach music and feel. What a punch to the gut. What an ending. Can't wait for the next episode. Keep it coming. As Emile says I'm ready!!!!!! How bout you!!!!!!
Noble Team, this will be our hardest mission yet. What's the mission Noble Leader? Don't say too many lines from our game. It's hard but we have to do it.
I liked it My major problem now was worried about, was that With the series that the Spartans would show too much emotion, not that I have a problem with that I just feel, Spartans are trained to be war machines, I feel that they’re emotions are press out or beat out of them, That way they become cold blooded killing machines, But I have to say the way they handled the emotions in relationships between these Spartans were handled very well. Good job to whoever wrote the script.
You're thinking spartan 2's like Chief and Jeorge. Spartan 3's are a bit more emotional, like Emile's obvious anger issues and Kat's and Jun's sarcasm. Still a far cry better than spartan 4's who are a bunch of over glorified emo kids
@@thomasboland540 buck was an odst, he's badass enough that taking Spartan 4 was simply just a pay raise for doing the same amount of ass kicking lmao Vale I'll give a pass since she actually thought for herself rather than "uh ma gawd, we gotta arrest a war hero" I'm looking at you Locke!
@Jared Kristian no doubt they played a massive part in the war, but it's kinda like how, for examples sake, 343 handled Chief. In the original trilogy he was a badass, his methods were unorthodox and the only way it could be explained was just simple luck. Then you go into 4 and 5 and suddenly he takes a more in depth turn that didn't exactly better him as a character. Honestly if they took the concept and made them interesting, I'd be all for the spartan IVs they're really cool! But their personalities are definitely not up to snuff from what you'd expect from a Spartan
Damn this was fantastic. The fights look really smooth and this is a really interesting place/time to set the story. Not crazy about the flash forward at the start, but that's more a personal bias. Some of the non-combat animations are still a bit spastic, but it looks a lot better than the pilot in that regard (and that was already really cool); a lot of improvement in a short time. Sign me up, I can't wait to see where this train is heading!
I’ve seen almost every halo remake that people have done because we all love halo and this is by far my most favorite now and I can’t wait to see this grow and blow up across the gaming community I have an extraordinary feeling this is going to be an amazing series 😆😆😆😆
When independent creators make a halo story that has more emotion and passion, than the entire production team of 343, and the millions spent on Halo 5 is just crazy 🔥🔥
Hey I've just launched HaloFollower's FIRST EVER public discord (under the studio name of LightFire). Come chill with the team and I on the growing server :) discord.gg/9mhEF3Z Also big shoutout to Jack Hahn who was the Lead Screenwriter in this episode! Check him out here: ru-vid.com
Amazing episode, it made me feel the same sadness seeing the Spartans dying which is what I felt during Halo Reach, hope the series goes well and good day to you. Remember Reach...
This episode depicted just how terrifying the covenant can be. What a great production. Everyone on the team did great in making this episode better than the last. Keep it up! You've hooked quite a number of people.
I haven't been watching you as much as I used to Chris but you started my love for halo lore and getting into the nitty gritty I never left after all that drama you suffered from but man your amazing I wish I had more time to dedicate myself to stuff like I used to have
Choreography, voice acting, writing, and visuals are superb. This series is going somewhere even greater as time goes on. The production team should get funded by 343.
Hey, this was really cool, great job! I’m sure it was a considerable amount of work to put together. You obviously have a talented team. I’m looking forward to more and I’ll be tuning in for the following episodes! My only critique is that I had a tough time telling the Spartans apart (other than Emma). Their voices and armor (perhaps combined with the dark lighting of the scenes, which all looked great, btw) were just a little too similar. Awesome work.
wow this was amazing! voice acting was done really well and the story is off to a good start! i did not expect his head to get cut off! if i was to offer any criticism, it would be that the weapons phase into the chest armor when they are held a certain way and the resolution seems to be a little low especially during quick moving scenes
Love this some much, so much effort went into this, this is way better than than the paramount tv show they made. keep up the great work this is unbelievable how good this is.
This is absolutely amazing. Thank you so much for putting your time, your heart and your money into this project. I've done animation and MC work before and I know the tremendous amount of dedication this episode displays. You guys are wonderful and this is awesome.
The voice acting, the scripting, the animation it all feels so real and relatable, THE BEST fanimation I've ever seen for anything! Fantastic job guys unreal!
Honestly can't wait for more. This series has so much potential. I hope it gets to the same level of love and fame as other fanworks like RvB, cause this is golden.
9:46 to 10:16 is a beautiful homage to the cinematography of Halo Reach’s cutscenes. they used a lot of visceral camera effects, like frequent zoom ins/outs and landscape portraits. it invokes the feeling of immersion (imo). the fade transition is also a beautiful touch. the entire episode is shot tremendously well though that sequence stuck to me. this might just be a preference thing but one tip i’d give is, involve the camera less in the actual action, and pull it back a bit to show the sequence unfold infront of the audience. more so, paint the set piece and use the the entire frame to make a moment for a couple seconds. anyways that’s more nitpicky of me, i fucking loved the episode and i can’t wait for more, been here since your coverage of halo 4 💪🏼🙌🏼
I am going to be completely honest, the part where the brutes were either eating or ripping apart the spartan limb from limb made me shocked and hate them even more now, but I love it because it seems exactly what brutes would do to those they have killed. I have played halo since halo combat evolved and still love it to this day. Love the video and hope to see more in the future. I also love how far you are going into the concept of how reach was before and after from other spartans point of view, this is making me get flashbacks to when I first played reach when it came out with my brother and father.
You guys all did such a wonderful job recapturing the magic I felt at 11 playing reach for the very first time. Seeing cutscenes from reach and seeing both the fan made/ and bungie storylines sort of intertwining is spot on. I look forward to seeing more from this series in the future!
Absolutely gold,1000x better than the actual show and then some.I also enjoy how you apply actual armour physics to the Spartans except maybe for the clipping, but still amazing and I will gladly support!
Dude, that was awesome, all it took was this one episode to love this and get me excited, I love the characters, I’m so far loving the story, and you already made me feel heartbroken after that death. 10/10 -CRNA Gaming
DUDE! You absollutly manage to get that horror of war and how terryfing the covenat actually is! I'm totally following this series, keep the great work! Greetings from México!
Wow, this looks really good! Especially the animation quality is pretty damn great. At the risk of sounding cynical though, I will point out that the camera could use some work. Especially on the action parts and fights, the camera sometimes makes it a bit difficult to follow what's going on. Also, is there any particular reason that there are no shadows on like, vehicles and such (especially the base scene at 9:45), or is that just a limitation of Source Filmmaker?
