@@ronniemiah307 how does that make me a boomer… it’s literally titled HORNS OF MIDDLE EARTH…. Then at the end has an Ent screaming… that’s not a horn… u wouldn’t title a video car horns… then show a dog barking would u 🤦♂️😂 then again u probably would
The Horn of Helm Hammerhand is def top 3 for me. But I'd have to give slots 1 and 2 to the Haradrim and the Rohirim, respectively. Helm's horn has got that awesome bass that really gets me pumped up. But the Rohirim at Pelenor is a sound of hope, while the Haradrim fill me with terror.
Me : never in my life were I thought that there is so many horn-types, and it's only a films, in other book stories must have been lots of other horns.
This has got to be one of the most wholesome comment sections in all of RU-vid! People giving their honest opinions/ sharing their favorite horns and no like-whoring in sight. This literally made my day! That is what the internet is supposed to be about! I‘m proud of y‘all!!
Gundabad has to be the most bone-chilling because it doesn't even sound like a horn but a wounded animal readying for a final attack before it dies, but that's just me...
Haradrim is hands down my favorite horn in the whole series. I know all of the horns were designed for their specific factions but I really like the haradrims horn because it seems so alien and just down right scary.
annie x don’t get offended when I say this. But if your on the battlefield who cares about the horn. I would shit myself to death from the sight of the living siege engines that have tusks 3 times my size. The horn may be scary but the look turning from happiness of winning to the knowledge of almost imminent death.
Interesting how the Gundabad one sounds like modern day war sirens. To this day the Haradrim horn still strikes fear into my heart. I'm so glad the Ent war cry was included, thanks!
@@H_Malik_RL lol, Harad means south in some form of elvish, Haradrim are from the south, or Haradwaith. There is The Great Desert, and farther south there is Far Harad. Not much is know about it. The Easterlings, as their name suggests, are from the East, or Rhûn. Some from Rhûdel, some from Balchoth, Chey, Nendorath. The Variags are from Khand, which is southeast of mordor. So no, they are not both from the East
Love how the horns fit the race. Haradrim sounds menacing as f. Rohan+boromir sounds like a noble human kingdoms would sound. Elven horn sounds all polished because they have better technology
I was watching real steel the other day, and the end bit when the play a horn like sound to introduce the robot Zeus reminded me of the exact same. The isengard horn
Haradrim's and Gundubad's horn is the best two for scaring their foes. Rohan's the best for motivating. Helm Hammerhand's and Erebor's is the best for epic charges.
Erebor is definitely my favorite. It just feels so powerful, strong, and triumphant. It gives me goosebumps and when bombur first popped up and started just NAILING it when I saw it in theaters I felt so pumped.
That is no orc Horn God! I remember watching this with my best friend and his family in theaters opening day. The two towers is the apex of filmmaking in my opinion. The chills the entire helms deep battle gives me is monumental.
Nothing gives me more goose bumps than when the sound of the horn of Erebor starts 💖 Just an epic moment in story. Love also the sound of the horn of the Rohirrim 💖 And not to forget Helm Hammerhand blown by Gimli.
Imagine being in the middle of the night in your castle when suddenly the Isengard horn sounds... No thank you, thats breathtaking, it gives me chills just to think about it
Dol Guldur has to be one of the most underappreciated horns in all of middle earth, imo it perfectly encapsulates orc savagery and brutishness. (Gundabad does the job of being frightening, but is slightly too polished for orks. And nothing is more terrifying than facing a brutish enemy sophisticated enough to use horns but leaving them unrefined)
The horn of Erebor is my favorite, without question. The glory of a once great and proud kingdom, represented in one loud, powerful sound force enough to stop and entire *orc army* in their tracks.
I’m personally a fan of the Lothlorien/Rivendell horn the most, although, that may be because I played Imladris a lot in Third Age Divide and Conquer, any time a charge used that horn sound it tended to be a sign that whatever unit was on the receiving end was about to become mince meat very quickly.
The Horn of Gondor is actually kind of disappointing in the film. The Horn of Gondor is meant to be a terrifying sound, rallying Gondor's allies and stopping Gondor's enemies in their tracks. But it's really weak-sounding in the film. They could at least have enhanced it somehow.
Well boromir wasn't exactly given time to give his kingdom a well deserved horn recital rather he was multitasking while fighting off the uruk hai. He was letting his party know he was being overrun, im sure if he had time he would give gondor the horn it deserved.
Sadly everyone was busy ranting about how they hated "The Hobbit" and how bad the adaption went out, rather than admiring what an epic movie series that actually is.
@@matteslambertus7684 Problem is, it is a bad adaptation and a simply rubbish movie with way too many CGI in it...They shot the scenes with 12 people unlike the scenes in the LoTR where easily a hundred people would be in a shot before CGI took over for the rest. That massive work with the CGI and just the crappy adaptation make the Hobbit crap.
@@ShantanuSuchil Problem is: You are a hypocrite, have no clue and are simply wrong. You would probably even value some stupid shit like Interstellar and other crap over the Hobbit Series.
@@matteslambertus7684 Calling me a hypocrite because I don't like how the movie was made in contrast to how well made the original trilogy was? I'm a hypocrite because I don't like how the writer butchered the 2nd and 3rd installation of the Hobbit movies despite doing a good job on the first one? The Hobbit trilogy is rubbish and filled with stupid things; An elf falling in love with a dwarf, a lowly Silvan elf healing a morgul wound whereas not even Arwen, a Noldorin, couldn't stop the wound from progressing for Frodo and required the attention of Elrond, how did the orcs even know where the defences of Thranduil's Halls were weakest followed by a stupid barrel battle on the river down to the lake... Also....Wereworms....Why on earth when you have possession of animals like that would you even bother to dig yourself out, OUTSIDE the mountain, while you as easily could dig yourself in, no one would know you'd be there cuz well, you're already inside....And the fucking goats....Oh man....and arrow killing ballistae....Trolls dying by magic cuz Thorin walked outside of the mountain.... The 3rd movie was ridiculous beyond words. The 2nd I could cope with but the 3rd was just utterly rubbish. I liked the book, I liked the first Hobbit movie cuz it stayed close to the book. Even though the CGI orcs just annoyed the shit out of me. Compared to the Lord of the Rings trilogy, The Hobbit is nothing and fyi, I never saw Interstellar
@@ShantanuSuchil I have called you a hypocrite because you have made your appraisal without any further thought whatsoever. Because you critisise the "buthchering" of the Hobbit do to some female elf, even though you probably likes Legolas appearance or Gandalfs scenes in Dol Guldur, non of which were mentioned in the Book. Almost a third, if not more, was entirely made up by the writers and producers, as much as Peter Jackson himself whilst making and preparing these movies and beside some minor cringes this was done with an outstanding level of thought, quality and detail. Just take a moment and watch this short part about thoughts that were never part of the book: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-LpSRZuqN7Oo.html Much of the improvised and made um content was created to close a sealed ring of content, referring to the Lord of the Rings and preparing its storyline. Now to some of your criteria in detail: - An elven Woman falling in love with a dwarf? Where is the problem? You see how well Legolas disgust towards dwarfes was displayed and at the very end him and Gimli happened to be some of the closest friends Arda had ever seen. - The wound was dealt with a morgul arrow, wetted with morgul poisen. This kind of wound differs strongly from Frodos, which is not only caused by a similar poisened blade, but also a cursed one. A powerfull and anchient weapon from the second age. No comparison to a regular arrow from some Morgul-Orc Marauders. The poisen though was treated with the same kind of herb....so much to detail. - The Barrel race actually was something that kind of was in the books already. There was no way away around it. I agree though, it was a little overdone, but not everything about it. The general fight between the elves and the orcs, chasing after the dwarves was implemented well. Regarding that: - The Orcs never attacked the Thranduils halls, they are impenetrable. The river just was the first and only way that led out of them and the first chance the orcs could pick up to the dwarves again.... nothing illogical about it. - About the wereworms: Tolkien said something about some kind of beasts like that, but I don't quite remember. Either way, there are several reasons why they might not be able to dig into Erebor. First of all the lonely mountain may differ in Quality and density of its minerals and stone. Perhaps the Worms couldn't dig throug it. Second of all they might be frightened of the dragon, that could still be in there. Remember: Even Orcs must be tamed. Noone eccept the Ringghosts are actual slaves to saurons will. At last Azog wantet to take Dale first, then encircle the mountain. The strategic component of the battle was actually layed out quite detailled by Tolkien. You can find interesting videos about that, here on RU-vid. - The goats are a stylish and reasonable cavalry. Even men here on earth have used goats to carry luggage and personel. Nothing wrong about it. - The artillery was mechanically doable, fucking badass and awesome. - And at last the Trolls didn't magically die to Thorins appearance, but to Ironfoots Phalanx, tossing their lances into their torsos. I recomment actually watching the movie, befor you loose your head and rent about it.
Imagine you're an orc army encamped in a valley right before the sun comes up and you hear the horns of Rivendell/lothlorien on one side followed by the Mirkwood horn on the other and the up-beat sound of the elves marching like the Mirkwood elves did during the battle of the five armies.
I totally agree with harad and gundabad in first and second respectively, harad is so chilling and strange, but gundabad just strikes a deep sense of fear in me
1. I love how so many of these scenes showed most if not all of the horns sound. Thank you for not cutting it off, that was much appreciated. 2. The Horn Of Helm Hammerhand!!!!! Erebor!!!!! Rohan!!!! Omg I cannot describe how much the deep, throbbing sounds of Dwarven horns thrill my soul, and how the pure, heroic blade of Rohan's call runs through my blood. I love these horns. I love the deep sounds, the shudder in my spine when I hear them again upon the field. Forth Eorlingas and Durin's Folk! 3. Y E S Ents are Horns In Their Own Right Yooooo! I thank you for including that bonus scene! 4. Now, at last, I fully understand Legolas's words: "That is no Orc Horn!"
The best thing about the Erebor horn, was the badass theme that followed when Thorin and his folk charged out. Just wish the theme had been louder in the background, something like the Pelennor Fields bit in Return of the King.
I got this option with my headset were everything sounds like in a concerthall. With that activated every horn sound so much more epic, loud and frightining.
Very nice video congratulations! I loved how you added that extra bonus ent calling. The video was very smooth from start to finish! I also didn't notice Dol Guldur had an horn? Interesting
Haradrim and Azogs army have probably the most intimidating horns. One is shrill and terrifying the other is loud and foreboding like a ship in the fog. Awesome video.
Isengard by far. Its the first horn we get in the trilogy and it just perfectly illustrates the might and genious of Saruman, the invincibillity of the Uruk-Hai and the danger that they represent. Its our first look at a army built to bring ruin to the world of men and the first deep gasp and realization on the film screen just what the forces of good are up against.
Haradrim will always be my favourite, it really does give you the chills. Gundabad is pretty good aswell but the haradrim is actually scary 5.Isengard 4.Dale 3.The Horn of Gondor 2.Gundabad/Mirkwood 1.Haradrim
Think something. The horns here are in different situations. The haradrim are going to charge the enemy like rohan or Erebor's Dwarfs it sounds to give courage to the soldiers. Boromir is sounding the horn asking for help or to prevent an attack, Dale for example. I would like to see the Gondor's horn for a charge or Dale's one. My favorite for example is Haradrim, Erebor and Gondor. U can feel the situation depends on the form makes it sound.
imagine downloading The Ent scream, getting a whole bunch of speakers into a forest near by a city or village and playing this. I think i need to buy a few things
This is top in movies. Outside the movies: 1) Eönwë and The host of the Valar in the War of Wrath. 2) Ar-Pharazôn and the Great Armament. 3) Fingolfin's march at the first Sunrise. Outside horns - Morgoth's cry is unbeatable :)
My favorite Horns Simplified Isengard- Don't underestimate me!!! Rohan- Charge!!! Gondor- HELP!!! The Harad- GG EZ Azog- Formation Elves- Fancy Angmar- For The Witch-King!!!
my favourites are: rohan for its heroic theme and erebor for how it sounds like the king under the mountain is back azogs horn, gundabad and dol guldur for how scary and demonic they sound and also horn of helm hammerhand for its deep tone
Horn of Helm Hammerhand is THE essential battle horn! Just the bass sound it emits could shake mountains. 😝 It’s one of those that would make most people say “fuck this” and leave.
Imagine arriving at a battlefield and waiting for your enemy to appear out of the forest sounding there horn then you hear not a horn but a ROAR from some ancient beast and then…. The forest begins to move……..
