Riders of Rohan screaming "DEATH!" at the top of their lungs really wasnt them asking their enemies to die. It was really them welcoming death with open arms. Morgoth used the fear of death, and men cowered. The rohirrim chanting death was them breaking free of those chains. They no longer feared death. Truly a written masterpiece. And Bernard Hill gave Theodens character life.

Brings me goosebumps and tears every time. I swear I would have follow Theoden, Eomer, Aragorn, sons of Rohan of Gondor, my brothers. To see such valor, facing down death in the face of overwhelming odds in true heroism and true manliness.

@@road3557 of course that made him a great man and king. But Gondor couldn't help Rohan because they wera attacked everywhere by Sauron's forces ( orcs of morgul, easterlings, haradrim and corsairs of Umbar ). Without all these fronts where Gondor must fight, they would have send help to Rohan. ( unfortunatly, in the hole history of the alliance of the 2 kingdom its always like that xD Rohan always helping Gondor by sending army's and Gondor who can't do that because they're always under attack )
