I don’t think the nazgul is a person he was a person that got corrupted by the ring of something And just like when talions ring was lost and celibrimbor left talion He was corrupted and he was wearing one of the nine rings of power that were corrupted known as isildurs ring So that would make him a nazgul

@Matej Juhás not so effed up if you've read the books and interpreted them properly. Tolkien himself left it ambiguous as to what would have happened between the Witch-king and Gandalf. Even Gandalf doubts himself when this potential exchange is questioned by Denethor. It frustrates me how annoyed people get by that scene as if it is an affront to Tolkien when it's not even that bad. In the books the Witch-king, essentially buffed with the very power of the dark lord himself, clearly believes he can best Gandalf in that moment. Now Gandalf being a Maia would be no easy task...but he's still a maia with limited abilities on earth and he can be killed. The prophecy was also in the Witch-kings favour. Jackson also made sure the line 'this is my hour.' was there to essentially signify that it was in that specific moment. The forces of evil were winning. Tolkien said Gandalf the White with the ring may stand a chance against Sauron without. Sauron is still by far the most powerful. In that scenario I also think Sauron would submit to Gandalf and gradually manipulate as he has done so well in the past.

@ There's actually a very good explanation why the witch king was able to be killed here, and it's only partly because Eowyn was a girl, that was just the ending or conclusion to Glorfindel's prophecy. I won't explain it here though, only if someone asks, you could look it up, it's really interesting as it's not shown properly in the movie.

Aragorn wasn't afraid of him though, he fought him and 4 of his buddies all at once and wooped them, lol.

The witch king has 3000 years of fighting experience though

@@bryang119 this proves the point Strinder, Elesar, Aragorn is powerful and has the courage to overcome any potential fear of these ghastly foes which is why he is able able to "whoop" them as you say. However it is also important to note that their power is weaker the when with distance from their master. The witch King is far more powerful on the Pellenor fields than he is in weathertop because he is fat closer to his master.

The most noble part of this is Eowyn 100%, totally knows and believes she will die. She lasted as long as she did because she was small and quick.

Tarek Chamas merrys sword is just a regular sword. Nazgul are invisible, not intangible. They're Kings that have worn their rings for so long that they can't be seen by human eyes. Which is why frodo saw their faces when he was invisible on Weathertop. Witch king died because of a combat loophole

actually the sword is enchanted you just don't know it because the movie doesnt tell you but the blade was a gift.

Definitely both. Seems like he bit down over Theoden's body with the teeth clamping through his legs and into the horse's side. It's back teeth probably stabbed a bit into Theoden's torso as well.

Both her sword and Merry's were magical (I believe Elven). That's why they were able to kill the Witchking.

Merry's dagger from a barrow wight's cave in Angmar destroyed the witch king's power which made him mortal and weak. Eowyn finished him off. It was also the reason that merry nearly died.

@@YD-uq5fi A hobbit, Merry, actually stabbed the Witch-King in the back of the calf first, and she then finished him off in the book. The movie made it very much about Eowyn, and the prophecy, but a lot of the credit goes to Merry stabbing the Witch-King in the back of the leg to begin first with the enchanted barrow knives. Then she kills the Witch-King, so she and Merry don't die, because that's what friends do.

The faceless Dark Lord''s slave with a breathing problem. the Boba Fett of LOTR would be....would be....Boromir is the absolute closest but still not really it at all. (Boromir vs. Aragorn = Fett vs. Solo)

Darth Parallax Boromir and Aragorn can't even be compared to Fett and Solo in the slightest bit. I said Witch King as Fett because he was a badass character, who didn't get TOO much air time, and died in a relatively "easy" fashion.

also has little dialogue. But the real truth is that LOTR doesn't really have any characters sufficiently like either Han Solo or Boba Fett. I know was reaching far there.

Nah, the Witch King got shanked by a Westernesse blade specifically designed to kill Wraiths, in a culminating moment of fulfilled prophecy and vengeance achieved for a dead kingdom. His death (or un-undeath) actually makes sense, thematically and narratively. Meanwhile, Boba got his jetpack lightly tapped by a blind smuggler, and was sent shooting off into the barge and bounced into the Sarlacc, like he was in a damned Tom and Jerry skit. If the third act of Return of the Jedi wasn't so good, it would probably be the worst of the Original Trilogy. So many odd decisions for the first two acts.
