This is awesome and something to be proud of. And for the record, despite what some are saying on here, I’ve never seen a door, a seat, or gallons of paint move dirt or pay the bills. Excited to get back in this girl and move some material.

Also a big like from me but have to agree that decals and paint need to be done thats a must. COME ON MIKE and I also agree a bit less random filming would be nice used to cover a lot more stuff. Just saying still supporting and no hard feelings

Awesome job keeping the old school machine in top shape... Great catch on the oil leak..!!! It pays to keep maintenance up on it because it makes money when it works and cost money when it breaks down in the middle of a job and it never fails it's at the worst time....

besides having this machine done and ready to work I bet you are also glad to have that work space back in your workshop. 7 months is a long time having to work around a sitting machine.

I think we all have one piece of kit that is our favourite, from your John Deere 120, to something simple like a vice that belonged to a great uncle, I have just spent 3 days bringing back to life. He use it in his workshop now I can use it in mine. Like you say Aaron is a good guy who knows his stuff. Nice to see you were encouraging child labour, Gunner with the broom and his sister with the camera.

Nice wrap up and acknowledgement of Man Behind The Scene And Steve. Is it even possible to re and re injector pump without removing counter weights? This job would be very difficult without Your shop and in the field. I think I’ve answered my own question. Even pressure washing is impossible. Let me guess the machine is 10 years old and you have never had to touch injector pump. Let me guess at the numbers. New machine is more than 200 thousand PLUS. Value of wore out machine before you started rehab 25 thousand. Cost of all parts 20 thousand. Value of machine now 100 thousand plus for machine that will last another 10 years. That leaves You 55 thousand to pay for some labour, Your time and Your shop USE on rainy days. CONGRATULATIONS ON THE BUILD. YOU ALSO PUT ANOTHER 100 THOUSAND IN YOUR POCKET BY NOT PAYING FOR NEW MACHINE.

Wahey, cracking job there Mike!!! You are right to thank the hard work of Aaron, Jason and Todd too, without them I think it would take you a lot longer as you would only have very limited time to work on her. You are right not to splash out on paint as she is an oldie, maybe if she earns her keep in a couple of years or so, then it may be worth looking into. In time, Macy and Gunner may learn to operate this too !!!

Always buy genuine JD parts.........Yeah, Sure. Local JD dealer wanted $480.00 for the starter on my backhoe 510B. I bought a new selonoid from ebay for 30 bucks plus an o-ring kit and new brushes for 39 bucks. That was 2 years ago and it starts every time.

GOOD JOB MIKE !!!!! Now you will have to relearn how to run it without all the wiggle!!! LOL It will be harder to shake the dirt out of the bucket now. I know what you mean about some machines just getting the job done. I have a JD 4440 I bought almost new. It has over 20K hours on it now. I keep it in good condition as even it being "small" for todays jobs, it still is dependable.

if that is how dirty you let your cab get, it's no wonder Chris worked one of the 850's when he was there... that's one thing I've picked up from his channel.. he can't stand a dirty cab... OMG one guy left a bottle or a little dirt on the floor... 🙂. As a father myself, it's too bad that Macy is willing to help now.. but in a few years when she starts getting to the teen years, that garage is one place you'll have to drag her to kicking and screaming... Watching you repair these toys, takes me back.. My father was always fixing someone's engine/car/truck piece of equipment of some kind in the garage or driveway while I was growing up and I was always helping him. About the time I went to college he finally decided he'd had enough of most of it.. still does a few things for himself but no more working on every one of his friends stuff... though at his age (just turned 76 TODAY) many of the friends are either not playing with those toys anymore or are no longer with us... fond memories for me.. even though I hated it at the time... enjoy the kids now.. in the next few years they'll go from 10 to college in what will seem like 1 years time...

Mike, if you epoxy a small magnet on the oil plug, it will tell you the volume of 'metal' between oil change... JD weld works well! Clean plug and magnet with ether... G

Do yourself a favor and get in the habit of closing your toolbox drawers. When I was a mechanic, I saw a tech that opened one too many drawers and the whole box fell over on its face (luckily he got out of the way) and he spent the next two days looking in every corner and under every workbench in the shop trying to find sockets that rolled away.

I am very happy to see it back in the field doing what it is supposed to do.... Now clean up the shop cause its only days till something else cries its my turn in the "Infirmary" and of course just when your a happy ahead, its back to bologna sandwiches cause the parts bills just never stop. Pick a color that you like for a company color and paint all the equipment the same or do a mural that points out the business and how to catch you on which phone. I could live in that shop... mechanics always spend most of the time in the field getting stuff out of trouble so shop time means a lot and great times between you and Aron
