I've always wanted to try flex fit, but always ran into the same problem as you. I also have a 7 1/2 - 7 5/8 hat size but L/XL flex fit hats seem to be too small and tight. When I wear hats that are slight tight it gives me a headache.
I actually have a similar Hurley hat from years ago. On the real note: I'm in shape and have a smaller hat size.....has to do with genetics and hair length. A Flex Fit hat is moronic to me. You can't sell a hat that fits a 7-7/58. These should be Flex from maybe one size to the next. I do not like crowns on my hats. I want to see a 6 7/8 and a 7 5/8 fit the same hat.
I would wear flex fit caps more often, but it is hard when you mainly see fitteds, and as an adjustable cap wearer it can be extremely difficult trying to find the right size and hoping it does not shrink too much.
7 5/8 here. L/XL flex fits are a little snug and XXL flex fits are hard to find and/or too big. The L\XL 49 brand caps seem to fit me good. Thank you for the video.
I’ve tried the FlexFit in the past and just didn’t like the feel, and the floppiness it had. The structure just wasn’t there. Maybe I should give it another shot. Thanks for the insight Doug.
Yes, lots of variation in the materials, the one I got is pretty thin, but I noticed they’re also made with heavier grade poly just like 39Thirty or 47 Franchise caps. Thanks!
Great vid. Me personally with a small head 7 1/8 prefer flexfit caps. I think the flexfit looks much better on you as well. 5950s are unwearable for me.. look massive and way too high as I have a narrow head. Cheers.
Yes, I'd probably buy more if I could consistently find the XL/XXL size - the one reviewed here gets a little too snug if I wear for more than an hour or so. Thanks!
I tried to like FlexFits but they are just not comfortable for my 7.5 dome. I feel like they squeeze and you just never consciously not feel that squeeze until you take it off. 5950 for me all day.
Yes, someone else noted that they actually make an XL/XXL size - which might work better - but those are apparently very rare, thanks for the comments.
I've had a similar experience with the New Era 39Thirty. The L/XL fits tight on my 7 7/8" head, and the cap is warmer. If I wear it loosely, I look like a conehead. I have to wear it down tight. Conclusion: Not the best hat for my south Florida climate.

Really cool, man, thank you. Unfortunately Spring does not offer custom Fitted caps, and I’d hate to sell anything less than the real thing. So I need to get some made on my own, and I’ll keep you and everyone posted on when those might be available.
