You might want to paint the shields in white and green like the Stir River patrol scheme. It's probably the most lore friendly reason why Stirlanders would have a landship
This is an awesome project, I think you should add some free hand. Like marks from different factions that it's saved small like the leader left a mark on the hull as a mark of respect. Or a score card of how many battles were won and how often they had to fix it up right 😊 great video as always Andy
Hey Andy, love your videos! I am sorry to kind of be off topic but I got my Bretonia box today and it was missing three sprues in it. I am waiting to hear back from GW so hopefully it will get taken care of. Have you heard of anyone missing stuff from the box set? Again sorry to break topic.
It's starting to look really good. I thought I knew what envy was before, but after seeing this beauty, I know I haven't been around in a while. Fantastic job, especially the steam engine, love the combination of steel and copper.
Not sure why I can't find my last comment, I found someone posted at least some of the manual pages for the ship. The telescope is listed as "optional telescope" in the parts list though I can't see it on any of the finished pictures. Edit: might be because I posted the link? If anyone wants it just send me a message.
Really sweet to see the prokect coming together! On a small note, you mentioned avoiding nulning and drybrushing the metal bits on the wheels to make sure the wood was not stained, something I often do when I want to give some depth to metal I dont want to wash is to base with iron warrior steel and go directly to the highlights/layering from there. It is a neat trick to get depth of color without taking any risks with the washes.
Coming along beautifully! I too have seen images of the telescope on the forecastle, mounted to the front of the middle crenelation at the top. Pictures are on DakkaDakka. I have also found pictures of it mounted on the aft-castle, top of the last aft crenelation on the starboard side. Most common was the front mount. Hopefully all that makes sense! 😉
I found a pic with the telescope on it and it looks like it's actually comes off the front of the boat is the way they have it right in that little area above the forward mast where the mermaid is at.
Pretty sure the telescope is supposed to go on the rail of the crows nest. It was made to give it the 'pintle mount' feel that tanks like the Malcador had at the time.
